Hi everyone, newbie po ako dito. Thank you in advance sa mga mkakatulong s pagbigay ng ideas which state to choose from these two: ACT or SA? My husband and I are currently working here in sg and our skills assessment is in process now. sabi ng agency samen, currently ito pong 2 state na to ang need ang occupation ko (medical technologist). Doing some research din, tska wala kasi kmi relative or friend currently staying s 2 state na to. So please help us out naman, kayong mga anjan na kung ano ang ok na piliin ha. Salamat po in advance.

Kung housing prices ang paguusapan mas mababa ang SA kumpara sa ACT ang taas pati ang standard of living sa ACT. Most people in ACT work in the Government which is eligible to apply ay Citizen or Permanent Resident. Kung paguusapan sa skilled mo as medical technologist halos parehas siguro may mga research centre din naman both state and territory.

ACT for me ... one of the benefits is you are just 3 hours drive from sydney , 6 hours from melbourne and maybe 3 hours drive from the thredbo / snowy mountains ....

And yes raising a family in ACT is quite good ... province type sya

Kayo po ang makakapag decide nyan di po ako:
Halos parehas lang po maganda in raising a family in ACT at SA kasi hindi naman congested hindi tulad ng Sydney, Melbourne madalas heavy traffic.

Ang advise ko po mag self reearch kayo at ipagkumpara nyo between ACT at SA.
Ang advantage kapag sa ACT malapit sa Sydney NSW 3 hours biyahe, Malapit din sa Snowy mountain. Pero mataas po ang standard of living kumpara sa SA.

Ang advise ko sa inyo ang hanapin ninyo yung indemand ang skilled nyo sa State at kung di ganun kahirap makahanap ng work. At kung makakapag apply kayo sa government mas maganda.

Maganda yung pinagpipilian nyo na state/territory kasi Regional area po ang ACT at SA. Kapag Sinabing regional area means kailangan ang mga skilled kasi kulang ang skilled at kulang ang at kaunti ang mga nakatira sa state or territory na yun.

Good choice ang Australia kasi di naman ugali ng mga taga rito ang mag madali. Karamihan ng company o trabaho dito ay relax po. May mga time lang naman na urgent ang work pero dipende pa rin sa anung klase ng trabaho mo. Especially kung sa Government ka nag wo-work mas maganda maraming benefit at flexible pa ang oras.

Hindi naman Bhelle, Canberra ACT is a planned city. Karamihan po kasi dito may bush area in every suburb ito po ay reserve area para sa animals like kangaroo, birds at iba pa marami din dito na mga trees. Kasi makikita nyo lang ang matataas na building sa iisang lugar sa City. Sa ibang suburban area ang pinaka mataas ay haggang 4 storey building yun kasi ang sistema dito the rest is panay residential houses sa mga subdivision. Continue pa rin ang development ng land at infrastrature project dito sa ACT. Ang maganda nyan baka in 10 to 15 years time magkaroon ng bullet train ang Canberra connecting to Sydney and melbourne. Bago na rin ngayon ang international at domestic airport ng ACT. Basta may kotse ka lang dito madali ka makapunta kung saan marami mapapasyalan at marami pinoy din dito.

@TotoyOZresident thank u po uli. I think decided na kmi to apply in ACT. My husband is in facility technician field. Target sana nya ay sydney kasi currently dito s singapore nsa global switch sya. Meron din jan global switch au kaso nsa sydney. Ako kasi ang primary applicant (medical technologist) kaya ndi muna nmen target ang sydney. I hope madami ding open s field ng husband ko s ACT. Plan po kasi nmen after maaprove PR. Sya muna punta jan s ACT hbng d2 muna ako sg. Pag my work n sya, saka kmi sunod ng baby ko- 1yr old. Then kung kaya ng sweldo nya, housewife muna ako hnggng mkpgschool na baby nmen. Hope maaprove na PR w/in this year or first quarter 2014. Naghihigpit na ksi dito sg. Ndi nmen kasma baby nmen. ACT is just a 3 hour drive from Sydney ... you can just catch a bus after landing at Sydney airport or book a connecting flight ....

Kung ACT kayo mag stay mas ok kung target ng asawa mo mag work sa NSW ( Sydney) kasi malapit lang ... I work before in ACT and my family was in NSW .. umuuwi na lang ako every friday tapos every monday coming from NSW nag ddrive ako papuntang work .. then the rest of the week meron akong inuupahang room ... what I mean is you will have flexibility to work in either NSW or VIC kung nasa ACT kayo .... kung SA mas slim ang chances nyo mag ka work

be aware lang po na most jobs in ACT ay kelangan AU citizen... something you might consider also

Yup Puro domestic pa lang. On going construction pa ang Internationl Airport ng Canberra.

Who knows baka in years time my direct flight na. Staka as i said before na mga 10 to 15 years baka may bullet train na po connecting from Sydney, Canberra to Melbourne. Kapag may bullet train na po mas dadami na po ang international flight ang canberra at tataas lalo ang economy.

worrying will not help .... stay positive ... yung mga citizen requirement na work e kung papasok ka sa government institution .. like what I mention earlier .. i was a PR when I worked in ACT

Hello po, sad to say nasaraduhan na kmi ng quota for my profession med lab tech pra sa state sponsorhip sa South Australia. My idea po ba kau kelan uli official open ng bagong quota sa lahat ng profession sa lahat ng states? thanks po.
