Checklist before arriving in Australia

Just like to open a topic para sa mga newly grants ng visa.

I like to welcome your inputs and pa share ng mga checklist nyo before kayo magpunta ng OZ.

Meron po kami.... eto lang ... pa dagdag nalang kung sakali.

1. House -- using pinoyau or oz website properties. Still don't know how to get it before arriving.
2. School -- most definitely will be the decision maker kung saan kukuha ng house rental ... ano advice?
3. ATM bank account -- Citibank from SG to AU? Sabi free daw transfer need to verify pa here. Should I buy AUD from money changer or convert na ng bank ang pera from SGD to AUD hmmmm... compute. compute.
4. Gamit sa bahay ... to ship or not to ship???? compute nanaman
5. damit ? Saan dapat bibili? Kung kelangan po talagang bibili SG , PH o sa AU?
6. work ... syempre hehe ... pero baka pwede narin ito before arrival

Ano pa po dapat?

After arriving na po ito...

1) SIM card
2) Convert ng drivers license if kelangan talga buy ng car
3) transportation card
4) Visit school --- ano mga kelangan prepare for kids, costs...etc
5) Internet line --- any recommendations especially sa Adelaide po kami.

PLus ito po yung nasa after arriving na post sa ibang Topic dito sa pinoyau.
Pwede bang gawin ito overseas???

6. Apply for a Tax File Number (TFN)
Do this first. To receive an income in Australia, you need a Tax File Number (TFN).

7. Register with Medicare
The Australian Government provides help with basic medical expenses through a scheme called Medicare.

8. Register with Centrelink
Centrelink is a government agency which delivers a range of services to the community.

@ringo about citibank, yes it's true, fund transfer from sg acct to au acct is free, according to a friend na nakaexperience na. Kaya ako nag open na din ako ng citibank acct ko dito sa sg.

@rolly04 - tnx po. Di ko pa sila nakakaisap.
Sa exchange rate nakang kung saan kakaunti ang bawas. Either sa bank na i convert or buy sa money changers.

@ringo sir question lang, yung TRN, Centrelink at Medicare applications pwede ba online registration kahit na wala pa tayo sa Oz?
