Hi Guys,

I'm considering applying for GSIV-Independent 175 but having difficulty choosing which occupation in the SOL list I will nominate and which assessing authority I will use. I have Electronics Engineer (EA) and Electronic Equipment Trades Worker/Electronic Instrument Trades Worker (General) (TRA) in mind. I have a Diploma in Electronics Technology('99) and work as a Test Technician/Engineering assistant in a Semiconductor Industry in the Philippines/Singapore for ~9 years (2000-2009) and Currently working as a Test Product Engineer (2010-2011) in Singapore for roughly 2 years with a Bachelor Degree in ECE (2008). Anybody here have the same case and experience?

siguro kung anu ang mas matagal mo ng exp yun ang applyan mo, kasi pwede naman ata na hindi related sa course mo ung work mo. importante yung magbase ka sa number of years ng work experience mo. sana may makatulong sa case mo.

You can nominate both but you will fall short of points for Engineer's occupation. You can pass EA skills assessment as they need 1 year experience only but you will score ZERO for DIAC's overseas experience.

Eletronic Trades Worker suits you best coz you will gain 15 pts for overseas experience.

Note: In order to credit your recent work experience, you have to tailor your engineering job duties into a more technical/vocational one.

Inominate niyo na lang po yung mas marami kayong work experience...mas madaling idustify yun...or if you're taking gsm visa, consider the job/education that will yield the most points...

    Hello everyone,

I’m a newbie here, I hope you can help me out because I am having difficulty if I will pursue my application in Australia or not since my present job is not listed on SOL.

    My job experience:
    Broadcast Engineer -- November 2007-present
    Telecommunications Engineer -- May 2003– November 2007
    Optical System Engineer -- June 1997–April 2003

Btw, I am a graduate of Electronics and Communications Engineering so I am considering Telecommunications Engineer (263311) since ito ang nasa SOL and ito ang previous position/job ko but according to DIAC “you must have worked for 12 months in the last 24 months in any occupation on the applicable sole”. 2007 pa kasi ako nag-work as Telecommunications Engineer, does it mean I am not qualified to nominate this job? Can you please give me some advise if I still need to continue my application.

Help is much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Im not familiar with your field but as LokiJr said, you can nominate Telecommunications Engineer as long as mahihiglight mo na yan ang nature ng work mo, mas may weight ung nature ng work mo kesa sa job title.

Thanks.

    @dukee

Architectural Draftsperson OR Architectural Associate OR Building Drafting Officer = Assessing authority: VETASSESS

Please note that the assessing authority doesn't look at the job title, on the contrary a nature of work, duties and responsibilities weigh up most.

Reply to @malt: welcome to pinoyau!! visa type will depend on several factors..
i have several questions for you...
    a) may IELTS na ba ang hubby mo?
    b) have you tried checking kung ilan ang points nyo? abot ba ng 65pts?
    c) kung ready na, you can apply visa subclass 176 (either state or family sponsorship)

pero malapit na rin ang jul1, start ng implementation ng skillselect.. so kung hindi pa ready ang ibang documents.. might as well wait for the new rule..

just post you questions here if you have clarifications..

Provisional visa po ito meaning hindi sya permanent.. valid for 4 years, after ma satisfy nyo ang residency rule, saka pa lang kayo pwede mag apply ng permanent resident visa..

Let us know if you have more questions.. our friends here will be able to help..

And willing syang mag sponsor. God Bless!

Family sponsorship will cost your family relatives A LOT.

    eto po ang nakalagay:

If you apply for a General Skilled Migration visa on or after 1 July 2012 and you are NOT nominated by a state or territory government, you must nominate an occupation from Schedule 1 of the SOL.

If you apply for a General Skilled Migration visa on or after 1 July 2012 and you are nominated by a State or Territory Government, a direct entry stream Employer Nomination Scheme visa, a Subclass 457 (Business (Long Stay)) visa or a Subclass 442 (Occupational Trainee) visa you must nominate an occupation from either Schedule 1- Skilled Occupation List or Schedule 2 - Consolidated Sponsored Occupation List.
