    Hello guys! I'm a new member here! Hindi po ako OZ-bound. US bound po ako pero gusto ko po sumali sa forum na ito para makakuha ng tips.

    Nag-IELTS po ako sa BC MANILA nung Dec. 14,2014 (Sino pala mga kasabay ko dito? Haha) then I received my IELTS result yesterday which is quite a disappointment. First try ko po ito sa ielts for visa screen po sana.

    L-7.5 R-8 W-6.5 S-6.5

    What concerns me the most was the speaking part because I felt I was cheated. As far as I'm concern, I satisfied all the 4-C's Ielts tutors were discussing when it comes to speaking as well as writing. I was fluent din, without stuttering saying uhm, ahh,etc. Yung examiner ko was a foreign guy with super ugly set of teeth! haha. Pardon me for being rude.

    I just want to ask for your best advice guys. Should I retake or should I remark?

    I'm planning to remark both my W and S. It costs 60 GBP or mga 4.3K.

    And by the way guys, will BC mail my TRF or will I claim it personally to their office? Thanks and more power!

    @cool_nurse go for remarking if you're confident that you did a great job with your S and W. Some obtained a positive result from remarking, others were not. Good luck!

    @ccosam it depends upon your assessing body. for example, sa vetassess, ielts is not required whereas sa ICAA, CPAA required naman ang acad ielts. san ka po magpapaassess?

    @cool_nurse I would suggest going for remarking if you're not under any time constraint. Unfortunately kahit anong sabihin natin, hindi pa rin talaga maiiwasan ang element of bias pagdating sa marking ng writing and speaking modules, hindi tulad sa Reading and Listening na talagang definitive yung mga sagot. I agree with @filipinacpa, if you feel strongly that you should have been given higher marks in S/W than what you got, magpa-remark ka na. :)

    Pag may hinahabol kang deadlines, go for remarking and then schedule for another exam if money is of no object.

    I'm thinking of retaking the exam on March 15 before my man's arrival here. Would be great for us to view the result together. Lol

    @thegreatiam15 if free naman and it's worth the time, i'll take advantage of it. but I think since it's free, they will orient you about the exam lang. mga technicalities siguro, like yung answer sheet, parts of the exam, time needed, etc. ganyan din yung sa free orientation ng niner dito sa Pinas e. :) Helpful din naman siya. :)

    Yup kung free naman at may time ka, go to the workshop. Pero kung ayaw mo mamasahe at mag effort pa na magbyahe papunta sa venue, pwede mo naman makita sa internet yung mga ididiscuss nila sa seminar/ orientation. :)

    okay naman sa IDP dun ako nag exam. Minsan lang basag daw ung sound system kaya nagiging mahirap yung listening.

    As per the orientation dun sa Event Brite okay din siya very helpful pero mga tips and do's and dont's lang yun. I still recommend Scotts English Success may minimal fee pero malaking tulong sa mga tamad magreview at watch watch lang ng lessons online. :)

    I took IELTs sa British Council here in Manila. Sa may Crowne Plaza ang exam. Sound system was very good and clear. Mahirap talaga kapag kulob,basag, or garbled yung sounds.

    I highly suggest BC for IELTs.

    Regarding sound system, maganda rin naman yung experience ko sa IDP Manila. Maliit lang yung room, and there were multiple speakers, I think. The proctors will play a minute of the recording, and then they will ask the takers if anyone has any problem with the loudness/clarity of the recording before the test proceeds. Kung feeling nyo may issue, don't hesitate to let them know kasi hindi naman biro yung test fee and for the future itey! LOL.
