medyo OT lang for those applicants targeting the 190 for ACT sponsorship, ACT and AUS decided to close down the skilled migration yesterday march 25th, 2014 and will be re enlisting other professions on July 1st. sana nasa CSOL na siya pag sakali yung occupation ko, good thing about this is less pressured ako maghabol at marami ako time magipon...: )

@filipinacpa thanks for the words of encouragement, your previous scores are pretty amazing as well, btw why you didn't apply for a re-mark? If that will be my scores, I'll definitely give it a go. I know someone who took GT, from 6.5 in writing after remarking it went up as high as band 8, would you believe that?

British Council or IDP?...malaki kaya possibilities na maging ok kung .5 nalang talaga yung kulang then iparemark. It also means we get the refund for the remarking fee if the scores deemed to be better than the current marking.

Mostly, yung other forums na chinecheck ko yung ibang nagparemark inaadvise nila na to go for the retake rather than the latter.

maraming salamat waiting for the results on friday 28th...sana this time would be better, before hindi ko naramdaman yung threat na imposed nang IELTS pero after 2 takes tapos narealize ko hindi pala ako makakakulekta nang points para dito, narealize ko like most of us guys here, sobrang major show stopper pala to.

Kung writing and speaking yan and .5 nlang kulang mo, then malaki chance na maremark ka. Kasi subjective ung scoring dun, kahit may parameters or guidelines in scoring, personal appreciation/ decision pa rin un ng magbibigay ng score. Though, still depends on your actual speaking/ writing exam contents. Pero pag listening at reading, almost no chance. Objective exams kasi and may definite answers. either you get it or you dont.

Try lang ng try. Isa sa nagustuhan ko sa pagwork sa SG is dollars ang bayad sa IELTS kaya di ko masyado naiisip ung cost. Unlike sa pinas siguro and converted to pesos, parang masakit sa puso pag bumagsak at magbayad ulit. Sa akin lang yan ah, haha.

Wahh nsa flagged list occupation ko huhu..pero nkalagay nman na some of them lang may be removed, hndi lahat -wishing wishing praying...kasi hinihintay ko pa din reault ng ielts tom mar.28 tpos aayusin ko pa docs for CPAA..mukhang hndi aabot july 1.

March 15th 2014, my latest test results, i wonder why i kept failing on my reading and writing eventhough i trained and studied for this a lot.

is there a way this results can be remarked?...

or iretake ko nalang po kaya ulet yung exam?...hays nanghihinayang ako sa time na inaral ko feeling ko hindi talaga enough.

My 2nd take.. One good thing I can now process my skills to EA. Kainis na writing yan. Ill send my skills assessment 20 April. Pa CTC ko na lang pinas.mahal dito sa sg eh. I have 3-5 months to improve my writing to 7.. Challenged talaga tong ielts, Pera at stress problema.

Civil Engr nga talaga ako puro numbers lang nde marunong sa writing hehehe

IMO-in my opinion ehehhe.. my first take in ielts, 2 weeks ako aral, sa 2nd take, less than a week.. I think 1 month is more than enough.. cambridge 5-9 ok na eh.

Hi guys,

I've been lurking this thread for quite some time now..and nabasa ko from start to finish hehe...Its a very helpful thread...

I just took my IELTS exam in IDP last March 15 and sadly my results below... I was able to finish my writing exam but didn't have time to back read so I was expecting of a not favourable result... I'm thinking of doing a retake nlng instead of remarking...haysst..

Listening: 8.5
Reading: 9.0
Writing: 6.5
Speaking: 7.0
OBS: 8.0

@StickyNote Hi Sticky!Ang taas ng scores mo paano ba mapataas ang speaking and writing?lol Sa speaking I felt it was not my best but it was ok...We had a nice casual conversation. There were uhmns and nag repeat ng ideas and phrases ng slight but I was able to answer all her ques... Sa writing medyo na ignore ko tu and di ko na practice mabuti young write fix at simon format... Newayz, try ko din cguro magpa remark...

Im aiming for above 8 for all bands sana hehe kasi di ako ganun ka confident sa skills assessment ko..Pero above 7 on all bands I think ok na rin. My job experience is more on Sys Admin or Systems Engineer but ni risk ko na na ang Computer Network and Systems Engineer since nag close young SS for those 2 positions. Im expecting na bawasan young yrs of experience ko na hindi na ko maka claim ng points so Im targeting 20 pts on IELTS.

Feeling ko pumapasok sa butas ng karayom para lng humabol before July. If you have any suggestions I'd greatly appreciate it

@persephone30 Not to discourage you but I just wanted to share my experience on this. Like i have always shared in this thread, personal gutfeel pa rin po if confident kayo na mapapataas pa ang score mo sa writing marahil yung examiner me na-missed out, by all means go for the remark but remember this is a 8-week waiting time and a bit costly, well kung medyo me budget po kayo you can do remark and retake simultaneously kumbaga me back up po kayo. I did remarking twice i took IELTS 4 times at lagi akong sabit sa Writing na yan. Writing as they said is a subjective module for as long as na-satisfy mo yung writing band descriptors let's say sa 7.0 band malamang na pumasa na, pero sometimes the examiner may find that the structure of your essay is not good enough to achieve band 7 then I suggest you should improve in this area. So it is for you to consider either you retake or remark or do both if budget allows. Goodluck.

@sonsi_03 thanks for the advice. Nakulangan po talaga ako sa oras sa writing although I was able to finish it, di mako nakpag read back para ma correct or ma organise yung sinulat ko..pati young letter minadali ko na rin... I am also not sure kung mapapataas writing ko sa remarking kasi nalimot ko na halos kung ano pinagsusulat ko haha basta sulat lng ng sulat and yun nga di ko na nabasa uli. It might be also na di na run umabot sa required number of words kasi ala na among chance magbilang lalo na sa task 1: letter. Im thinking of remarking and also mag retake next month or sa may... Btw, di po ba kayo nag claim ng points for IELTS? nakita ko kasi sa timeline nyo di na kayo nag retake for your 6.5 in writing but was able to lodge a visa.

@persephone30 I did not claim for IELTS points, saktong 60 points na po ako, although before yung una kong nominated occupation kailangan ko maipasa ang IELTS para makapag apply ako ng 189 nung napapalit ko na into Electrical Engineer it allowed me to proceed na rin 190 nga lang. @sonsi_03 naku buti nang IELTS undergrad basta may Visa invitation binigyan ka po ba ng option ng nag assess ng skills nyo to change occupation? Halos young swak na occupation talaga sakin eh la sa SOL tas need pa SS and ngayon closed na lahat... pag di suitable ang ni nominate ko na occupation, no choice but sa july na makapag apply uli..sana naman along masyadong changes na parang pahirap na makapag apply

@persephone30 The first NO they have given me was wrong, kaya nag-appeal ako because my profession is Electrical Engineer, binigyan ako ng Engineering Technologist which is wala sa SOL, SNOL kaya stuck ako ng 6 months until i tried to appeal. Within 6 months puro IELTS retake at remark ang ginawa ko pero di ko makuha 7 sa writing talaga hanggang ngayon di ko pa rin alam kung bakit.

Anyways, magandang materials yung IELTS Simon, ACE the IELTS at mga Cambridge IELTS Ryan okay din, dami resources online you just have to give dedication, time, effort at focus to win your desired scores.
