Looking for 1 BR unit near CBD melbourne

My friend and I will be arriving in Melbourne, first week of July. We will be staying at Derrimut at a friend's house until we find a place of our own. Unfortunately, we have no idea which is the best location to look for a place to rent. My work is located at CBD but would rather stay somewhere near CBD, mahal kasi pag sa CDB.

If anyone knows a place where it will be convenient to travel from/to the city, pa-advice nman po.

How much ba is your budget?

Our place, 10km north of the CBD (and withing Zone 1); we are paying 350/wk for a 2bedroom villa.
