Hello everyone! My wife will be holding a student-dependent Visa. We will (hopefully) be residing in Sydney. Is there a chance of her getting hired as an Accountant? or kailangan i-update ung Visa nya to another one? She's a former Senior Audit Associate at SGV for 3 years

@catajell hi miss catajell. Question po. Pwede po ba mag-apply sa Big 4 audit firms dyan kahit hindi pa CA or recognized CPA sa kanila? (CPA po ako sa pinas and I'm working on my experience then hopefully makapag-ipon ng pambayad sa visa fees, etc for application) Yun po kasi sana ang i-no-nominate ko na occupation - External auditor. Based po kasi sa trend ngayon, sa Accountant(General) occupation 70 points na ang minimum para ma-invite. However, sa external auditor, di pa naman explicit na sinabi sa australia immig site na 70 points din. I mean, mas madali kasi diba kung 60 points lang ang ipuning points compared sa 70. Kaya ayun. Sorry po medyo napahaba. Hehe. Hoping for your response and sa iba na rin po dito

Hindi sinabi sa immi kasi kaagad napuno ang slots ng external auditor dahil nasipaglipatan ang majority ng sa accountant (for the fiscal year 2015 w/ 1000 slots alloted for 221213 occupations like external and internal audit, ay naubos kagad by sept). And given that, pwede natin isipin na may mga nagnominate/naglodge under external auditor na naghihintay sa pagbubukas ng fiscal year this july.

Ang pag invite ay naka based sa 1)may pinaka mataas na points at 2) date of lodgement. So, kung may 60 points ka hindi kaagad na ngangahulugan na makka receive ka ng invite kung 1) may mas mataas na points sayo at 2) may mas nauna sayo na 60 points din.

To cut the story short, ang maipapayo ko lang is pataasin mo ang points mo. If kaya aim mo ang 70 points para mas malaki ang chance to receive an invitation.

Pwdeng-pwde pero dapat may big4 background ka na. You can also go through the Advisory route para hindi naman talaga requirement ang pagiging CA or CPA aus pero dapat open ka for other certs like cia, crisc, cybersecurity, etc. Boring ang assurance, mas ok ang advisory, hehe joke lng.

Hello po. Mukhang mahirap na maghanap ng work para sa accountants ngayon. Ayaw talaga namin ni misis sana sa extrnal audit kaso yan din ang sinsuggest na exp muna ng kakilala namin sa au. My wife had 2 busy seasons lng sa big 4 dati then she moved to shared service for 2 yrs. Ako naman private agad ngwork. Tingin nio po may chance kami sa external audit matanggap? Salamat po sa makkpagshare ng exp.

Im thinking to nominate EA instead of accountant. 6 years accountant at 5 years EA which is my current role. tama bang mag EA na lang? can i claim points in EA work for Accountant vis a vis?

Going back to this thread...kumusta ka na @catajell?

My experience - Auditing in pinas, dubai and australia are all the same - pare parehong maraming trabaho. Work late at night and during the weekends are normal esp during busy season.

Difference is sa pinas and dubai, nagstay sa client or office mga tao to work. Here in melbourne, wala ka na halos makikita after 6pm sa office. However, people do work at home haha

@ImB may naka usap ako na nag wowork din sa audit firm, hindi daw practice ang extended hours na work sa AU. ina advise pa nga daw nila sa mga bagong hire na ganun ang practice sa ibang firm like pinas, Singapore na wag daw dalhin sa AU ganun culture.

@batman Haha, yup that's what they will tell you. Pero in reality eh normal lang din yang extended hours of work pagdating sa audit kahit dito sa AU. Sila pa magsasabi sayo kung pwede gawin mo sya gabi or during the weekend esp pag client na nila involved.

Dito pala sa AU, dalawa busy season - 1) June YE at 2) Dec YE!

Yup, big 4. Transition in terms of ano ba?

Lumipat ako to another big 4 firm kasi kaya nangangapa sa system at methodologies nila pero kung paano mag audit ng account balances parehas lang naman. Syempre yung tax, wala kasing tax dun sa pinanggalingan ko.

medyo challenging maghanap ng internal audit jobs here. mostly they are looking for local experience. You have a better chance kapag nandito ka na cguro

Kasi if ever ma-invite po ako for subclass 489, which is a provisional, family-sponsored visa, is it possible that firms in the Big 4 like EY (since nasa EY PH po ako ngayon) will hire me? Nag-scan po kasi ako ng careers section ng EY Melbourne, for example, kailangan permanent resident daw. Will visa 489 count? Kasi after 1 yr of full time work and 2 yrs of living in a designated area, pwede naman na po mag-apply for permanent residence visa through subclass 887. Will highly appreciate your response and sa mga other members din po dito. TIA
