I came across this article that explains how IKEA products in Australia are generally more expensive than their counterparts in the US, Singapore, and China.

I think I'll look into this further; might be better to get my stuff in Singapore then ship them off there when I move. I was initially only planning to ship my floor lamps hehe

    Yes, it was shown in the local news that IKEA Australia charges more and they acknowledge it. IKea said they will try to look into it and provide better pricing.

    It's Not only IKEA Australia. Most companies charges more in Australia that their US counterparts. Another example is Apple products. It is more expensive to buy Apple products here than in US.

    Sabihin nalang natin na more than 50% (conservative estimate) of same brand goods that are sold here in Australia are cheaper elsewhere...

    That is how it is unfortunately here as a result there are a lot of people who would result into online shopping.
