Oz migration is not for all so there will definitely be a few who came back to where they came from after tasting life here.

I know a bunch of Pinoys who are PRs in Singapore; they got PR sa Australia din and they tried it out. Came back within a year as they never really get to settle in Oz the same way as they have settled in SG.

Personally, I still miss SG but Melbourne is my home now. There is no turning back in a few weeks time. Pinas? No way... Harsh as it may sound but it is a hopeless case there as long as these idiots from the government don't change.

They can tour Au naman anytime, plus priority sila nowadays sa services, works and benefits because of the current issues.

Unlike majority of them, maayos naman buhay nila eversince, so they might as well back sa place nila.

Pero tama rin si @TasBurrfoot - migrating is not for everyone. It takes a certain character to uproot and start over and work/wait for it to bear fruit.

I believe, living in Au is just to have a feel of lving in a different environment and not to pursue a better life like most of us pinoys are aiming to have.
Kung PR ka man sa SG, you don't get to enjoy the same priveleges as their citizens, unlike in Au. Nakakamiss lang sa Sg is transpo convenience and safe environment, but definitely not suitable for family to live there for good. Sa Au pang pamilya talaga, at pang sports pa (kase reachable ang dream sports car! haha) :)

i'm about to embark on our migration journey from SG to AU.

just a thought about SGporeans going to AU then back to SG - nothing beats being a first class citizen in a first world country :)

in my case, I share the same sentiment with @TasBurrfoot - Pinas is out of the question having enjoyed the safety and convenience of living and raising a family here in SG.

Correct. For them, its not going to SG to find a better life but more of to experience something different lang. First class citizen sila sa bansa nila. Their red passport is also powerful. Nandito na din nman lahat ng gusto nila and Singapore is keep improving and improving in terms of infrastructure, walang tigil =). Its been a while since nakagala ulit ako dito. Gardens by the bay is very nice, may performing live bands na sa may esplanade area, makansutra was improved unlike years ago, laupasat, the big shopping malls in orchard, new shopping malls in jurong east area (westgate, gem, etc.), improvements in MRT system. I love the feel of Melbourne when we got there, but in terms of real city and modern feel, hands down its SG. If theres a word to describe Singapore i think its "convenience". Good for them, but this place is not for me =)

Open din ako to retire in Philippines. In general, hindi basta2 pinapabayaan matatanda. Tsaka laging may tambay at makakausap sa atin dami pa pagkakalibangan.

For me, if I'd be successful in migrating to Australia... I don't see myself retiring in the Philippines later on when i get older.

The only reason na masaya ang mga elderly sa atin is because of family.

Now, having said that, the more reason that I don’t see myself going back to Pinas in 5 or 10 years time after migrating to Oz. It’s just not making sense to me, at least at this point. Maiisip ko lang siguro lagi yung reasons kung bakit in the first place I decided to leave…

The “Rat Race”, parang lahat ng bagay mahirap, kahit napakasimpleng bagay pinahihirapan tayo…

Migrating back to pinas, you can say never or be definite. People changes as years go by. Yung lola ko na parang sobrang tigas at tapang mala hapon nung 40-70's nya, eh naging maramdamin at sentimental nung tumanda na talaga. Especially if marami kang masasayang memories sa pinas. So i don't make final word na i will stay sa Au/other place forever. Migration to Au is primarily for my family's future. Retiring to pinas, just in case, primarily for myself.

We can still crack jokes and find smiles even in hardest of times and difficult situations. Dami kalokohan sobra hahaha. Been to public school from kinder to college. Kahit pila, kulang kulang na libro, pasaway na teacher, classmates, barkada those are the happiest day of my life. Pinoy in general kasi is masayahing tao.

Pero tama rin si @TasBurrfoot - migrating is not for everyone. It takes a certain character to uproot and start over and work/wait for it to bear fruit. Kelangan lang talaga magpursigi.
totoo yan. alot of them are pampered cry babies. sa amin, sa construction industry, malutong ang murahan at hot seat lagi sa meetings. na-observe ko lang, a lot of singaporeans crack under pressure. ang joke namin mga FTs eh, lagi pinagpupustahan ang bagong pasok na lokal. how long this clown last leh? i've seen a lot leave in the first week. personal observation lang at hinde ko nilalahat. siguro, when the tables are turned at naranasan nila kung ano ang buhay foreigner eh. cheebai, how? cannot lah.

Agree for sticking with topic but not agreeing on your comments regarding poking fun of other nationalities. What we shared is reality and based on our real experience living here in SG for number of years. Don't be too serious.

@vhoythoy you may read the whole thread again and you'll understand what i meant.

if other nationalities says... "ALL Pinoys are CORRUPT, based on our real experiences", and that's the "reality"... how would us pinoys feel?

Kaya I suggest we stick to the topic, or somebody can create a different thread like "Going back to XX after Migration?"
