- can you see your account balance po kahit hindi ka pa nakapunta sa Au?
- may charge ba when you tele transfer money from POSB to NAB?
- na-try din nyo from Standard Chartered to NAB?
- may tax deduction ba let's say 3 months na hindi mo pa nagalaw ang pera mo sa NAB dahil outside Au ka pa?

You will get tax deduction for your interest as you don't have any TFN yet submitted to the financial institution; come tax time naman, you can be able to recoup this and and this to your tax declaration (i.e. interest income earned and tax withheld from interest).

@IslanderndCity it an alternative way po of sending money overseas cheaper than banks, they just charge SGD20 regardless of any amount, kasi sa bank may charge yung bank mo, cable fee plus the intermidiate bank so mas malaki ang babayaran mo lalopag malaki amount. Need mo lang mag register sa pay2home, then go to one of the branches for 1 time identity verification, then you can send money online na. Safe din sya, since every transaction may SMS confirmation at makikita mo din online sa account mo at sanctioned din ng MAS. Pwede ka mag online transfer from DBS to pay2home account, then once nandun na sa send mo sa beneficiary account mo overseas. you can check po sa website nila lahat ng details...(you can put my name as nag refer haha nabasa ko lang kasi nung nag register ako na may free ata if you refer someone) heres the link :

Tax is on interest income (which is at least 3% per annum on a savings account) - assuming a tax of 45%, your net interest will be 1.65% >> this is still better than the 10bps they are paying for your balance in Singapore.

Not unless I am missing out something here...

@bhelle_mt02, pwede po basta bago pumunta yung mag oopen ng account need nya muna pumunta sa branch para sa identity confirmation which is one time lang naman..need din naka roam pa ung cp number na naka enrol since dun I sesend yung SMS every transaction, pwede naman I change yung cp once may contact number na sa Aus

Naka pag setup na ko ng NAB account + isaver, na register ko na din onlne banking, pag register lang po need lang passport at contact number dun sila padala sms at confirmation din sa email. Once na setup na view-only mode lang until pagdating sa AU anf after proper identification thru meeting sa NAB acct manager mo. Next year pa kmi mag wire transfer atleast less hassle..galing

btw katuwa lang mga dati kong nakikita sa pinoysg site nandito at active sa forum...namely tasburr, engr boy last time alam ko pati si paris hipon ata un...

Kapag nagtransfer ba sa nab account from posb for example, hindi mo na magagalaw ung na transferred mong pera sa nab hanggang makarating ka sa aussie and activate it personally. Nakaka temp kasi mag transfer ngaun at malakas ang sgd

kaka fill up ko lang ng application forms kanina via online, and may acceptance email. Siguro wait pa ako ilang days for the intructions. halos dikitan ang sgd at aud ngaun ano. 1.085 and buying rate. its like 34sgd: 36.9aud di nalalayo. parang natemp na nga ako magpalit sa mga money changers dito kaso ang risky nman magbitbit ng AUD money lalo uuwi pa ng pinas, baka mamaya ma hold up pa haha

@vhoytoy, tama si engr_boy hindi mo pa magagalaw yung account so mas maganda kung na open ka na ng NAB account & isaver, then kung mag transfer ka ng pera ngaun i send mo na directly sa ISAVER account. nag email din ako sa account manager ko sa NAB since sabi sa welcome letter may high interest promo for the forst 3 mons ata upon opening the account, kaso last Nov pako naka pag open kako, and by March palang ako probably makapag transfer so sabiko kung pwede ba ako uli mag open to enjoy the promo rate..sabi nila no need, they will just adjust it upon meeting pagdating dun, hehe.

Will this create any problems, or you can just simply informed them via email/ phone since you have your unique bank account number nman?

i was able to access na my internet banking in NAB. Next step is to confirm my pay2homes account via face to face meeting sa branch nila. I will try if i can wire transfer from citibank to pay2homes then to NAB. By the way, conversion rate nowadays SGD:AUD is great. Forex sa may lucky plaza quoted me 1.081. Nagpapalit muna ako 5,000 sayang din kasi hehe.

When we transferred our monies before, same FX conversion was hovering circa 1.35...

Sa may ground floor tabi at ng rahman, ung malapit sa nagtitinda ng pabango. authorise money changer ata nme. hindi nakapaskil ung exchange rate, pinakita lang sa akin ng indian na guy sa calculator na 1.081 daw sa knila. ok nman, ayos nga kung pwede lang magpapalit ng marami kaso ayoko magbitbit ng maraming cash pero manipis lang pla 5K aud tig 100. Medyo ok ngaun araw kasi from 1.0875 nung isang araw naging 1.20 kahapon then bumaba ulit.

@vhoythoy nag-open din ako ng NAB pero hindi pa makaproceed to register NAB account as a benefeciary sa Pay2Home kasi wala pa akong nareceive na welcome pack from NAB containing my new account details. ganoon din ba sayo before?

naku di ko pa alam kasi friday night ako nag transfer via online. 1.109 nga medyo mababa and below 10k lang. 2-3 business day kasi from others banks. DBS acct din kasi ung sa pay2homes.
