Sa mga nakapag renew na ng passport while in Australia, kapag nag submit ka ng application for passport renewal, ica cancel na ba agad ang current passport mo??? Need ko kasi mag travel this July kaso baka hindi ko na maantay yung bagong passport.

Yung expiring passport ipapadala pa po ba yun ng Sydney Consulate sa Manila para ma-process for renewal? Or pwede po ba na hawak ko yung expiring passport habang naghihintay ng bagong passport?

@athelene dadalahin mo passport mo with you and ipapakita or ipapadala mo din once you claim your passport. cheers *

@Cassey Hindi pa po ako nakarating sa Sydney hehehe next month pa ang flight ko, pero baka early or mid-Aug pa ako magrenew ng passport

@Cassey kakaproess ko lang ng renewal sa sydney last 29th June and expcted time is 28 Aug so i think papasok sa 8-10 weeks waiting time talaga

@jmban33 Thanks for the reply, I was there din. Hopefully, makuha ng mas maaga. Yung kakilala ng hubby ko naman mga 5weeks waiting time lang daw. Down yung website nila for more than 2 weeks na.

@Cassey pinadeliver niyo.. pano pala yung procedure ng pagcheck sa site kung dumating na..medyo nalilito ako sa binigay sakin na steps

@jmban33 Pinadeliver na namin. Down pa rin yung website nila eh. Check mo yung fb page nila na Sydney PCG, pinopost nila run yung pwede ng kuhanin na passport. Through friend nga lang din namin nalaman na pwede ng iclaim yung amin, iba kasi yung fb page na tinitignan namin pala.

Pag ipapadeliver mo, bale 2envelopes yung bibilhin mo, yung isa self-addressed. Ang kinuha ko yung express post na registered with signature. Pinadala ko yung old passport, receipt, letter to mail the passport at yung self-addressed na envelope.

Mabilis lang renewal ng passport ko sa Canberra it took only 13days at nakuha kuna sya.

@jmban33 Yung express, Wed ko pinadala yung old passport tapos dumating sa Sydney ng Thurs. Pinadala nila ng Friday sa Melb kaso walang delivery ng Saturday at Sunday kaya Monday na dumating ng Melb yung bagong passport. Kuhain mo yung may tracking number para makita mo kung asan na. Wag mo ring kalimutang kuhain yung tracking nung self-addressed envelope.

Just sharing my recent experience with passport renewal:
I went to the Philippine Consulate in Sydney last Wednesday the 16th because it was an Ekka Show holiday in Brisbane, where I live. I arrived at the consular office at around 10am and there was quite a lot of people, most of them were from Brisbane as well, taking advantage of the local Brisbane-only holiday.

The process was pretty straightforward. I had to submit a report of marriage application so that I can use my married name in my new passport, and they also allowed me to simultaneously apply for the passport renewal along with the report of marriage on the same day. Had to get my documents verified in the main window, and then waited for my number to be called to submit my documents, then after they have inputted my details on the computer, they called my name to take my passport photo, biometrics and signature. I was finished by 12:15pm. So now I am just waiting to hear updates on the release of the passport.


@Cassey Thanks for sharing your passport renewal experience with us! Just a question: Now that you have your passport, did you update your details with the Australian immigration/Department of Home Affairs? And do you know what would happen to our CFO sticker since it will just be in the old passport?

@sunflower Hi, No worries at all. Yes, I wrote in the details and uploaded the new passport in our immi account. Hmmmm, that’s a good question. I’m actually not sure about the CFO sticker. Maybe try to email CFO office and see what they have to say. And if you can, please give us an update here in the forum for future applications. Thank you,

@Cassey I've been re-reading the CFO threads here and based sa feedback ng ibang members, you'll just have to bring your old passport that has the CFO sticker on it. I do remember them saying that during the PDOS seminar kasi nga you do only attend it once.

Kindly update us as well if you hear back from the department with regards to your updated passport. Curious kasi ako if they will be sending a new document back to us as proof kasi our visa grant is linked to our old passport.

@sunflower No, they won’t be sending a new document. You can however check if the new passport is already linked to your visa thru VEVO.

Once you’ve updated your passport details in your immi account, just give it 24 to 48 hrs then check thru the website that I’ve posted above.
