Hello everyone! Been a silent reader here since Day 1 of my PTE test preparation. Gathering all of those tips/tricks/experiences to help me reach my desired score on the first try. Para sakin kasi mabigat yung $210 if ever hindi ko makukuha yung score na kelangan ko. Anyways, I would to thank each and everyone who contributed to this community and sharing their insights to help future and ongoing test takers. I would like to do the same and share with you what I've learned from this.

Here is the score I got all thanks to you guys!

Para akong binuhusan ng malamig na tubig pagbukas ko nung results. Alam ko may sablay ako sa ilang items pero alam ko din na pinaka-best ko na yung binigay ko. Siguro malaking factor din while taking the exam is your faith in yourself. Kapag nawala na yung doubt or kaba. Sky is the limit na.

Hopefully, this inspires someone to push on and know that nothing is impossible. Kung kaya niya kaya ko din.

Anyways, here are the strategies I've collected and used throughout a whole month of preparation.

    SPEAKING/WRITING
RA - Practice with background noise. Importanteng sanay kana sa distraction kasi maingay talaga during test day. Look for tutorials on how to read professionally parang newscaster. May konting confidence boost kapag feeling mo nagrereport ka sa TV.

RS - Pinaka-mahirap lalo na kapag may background noise pero kelangan mo parin mag practice ng may ingay para masanay ka mag focus sa headset. Listen carefully and get as much content as you can. I know for sure may 1 or 2 missing/incorrect words ako. But I filled in a few words just to maintain fluency. Don't lose focus. Kung magkamali ka man, wag mo na balikan or isipin and be ready for the next item. Kapag inisip mo lang yung mali. Lalo kang mahihirapan sa next item or mawala yung focus mo.

DI and RTL - Jimmyssem's template all the way. Check his Youtube videos.

ASQ - Kung sakaling hindi mo alam yung sagot, ulitin mo lang yung keyword sa tanung or guess the answer.

SWT - Check template from Singh PTE Classes (Youtube). Just don't copy the exact words on the question. Try to restructure the sentence but keep the keywords (nouns, pronouns, etc...). 5-75 words limit.

ESSAY - E2 Template. 1st paragraph = introduction of the topic, 2nd paragraph = first keyword on the question, 3rd paragraph = Additional info on 2nd, 4th paragraph = conclusion or re-affirm all key information you have on both 2nd and 3rd paragraph. Mind your spelling and grammar. It is important to reread what you wrote at least twice to catch any errors. 200-300 words limit.

    READING
Multiple Choice items - regardless kung multiple or single answer, only give 2 minutes each question to give you more time on more important tasks. Isa lang pinili ko kahit multiple answer kasi may negative markings dito.

FIB - In both R&W or Reading, practice reading the entire sentence on where the blank is located. Tapos basahin mo ng malakas, yung nadidinig mo sarili mo. Kasi dito makakatulong na mapili mo yung correct na word para sa sentence. Parang mas obvious na mali yung ibang items sa drop down or sa list kapag binabasa mo sya ng malakas.

Re-Order Paragraph - Read each box and look for the one na complete yung thought and doesn't really need anything else. That is your first answer. Then hanapin mo yung next box na same ng thought as the first. Almost everytime, laging magkasunod yung thought nila. Then process of elimination kana sa rest of the options. Tapos basahin mo ng isang bagsak yung nare-order mo na to make sure tama yung thought nung paragraph at hindi magulo.

    LISTENING
Multiple Choice Items - same lang sa Reading. Don't focus to much on this kasi kapag naubusan ka ng time sa WFD mas malaki bawas sa overall score mo kasi isa sa pinaka importanteng item ang WFD sa may pinaka-huling part ng exam.

FIB & SMW & HCS - Listen carefully lang on the missing words or the key notes. Hindi naman na maingay kung nasa reading or listening part na lahat ng kasama mo sa test area kaya madali na mag focus dito. Pero wag mo ubusin oras mo kasi nga nasa huli ang pinaka important.

HIW - Isunod mo yung mouse cursor sa passage word for word habang nagsasalita yung recording.

Also wag mo intindihin spelling habang nag type and listen. I-correct mo nalang kapag tapos na yung recording kasi nawawala ka sa focus kapag nagcocorrect ka ng spelling habang nag type and listen.

    Practice time = 1month / 2-4 hours everyday
20 items per question type (apeuni weekly predictions) everyday
1 full mock test (79score and language academy) everyday

Ayun hopefully may nashare ako na makatulong at hindi kayo lalong naguluhan. Mahirap talaga pero sobrang worth it kapag nakuha nyo yung desired score nyo. Sobrang sarap sa pakiramdam.

Alright, thank you for reading and good luck! :)

Question lng po.. I used the jimmyssen template sa DI and RL ndi po gumana sa speaking lng ako bumagsak.. ano kaya yung mali ko? I took pte exam last dec 11.

Gumagana po siya even after the November 16 exam update because I took the test November 18 and used it for the whole DI and RL. Baka po sa RS and RA po kayo nahirapan? Kasi ito po yung may mga malalaking weights sa scoring ng Speaking.

^sa RS parang half lng cnsabi ko kc to maintain fluency at pronounciation gngmit ko ksi na review ko yung app ng APEUni ndi ko tlga alam kung ano ngyri sa RA nman tuloy tuloy lng ako mgsalita. Pede po tips nman po pano yung RA lgi kc 64 nkukuha ko sa APEUni. Thanks po. I took the exam sa La trobe Melbourne

mam, natry ko ung template ni jimmyssem for DI and RL gumana naman po. 82 po ako speaking and highest ko siya though dun po ako nahihirap sa apeuni mock test.

Ilang months and hours per day po ba ang kelangan to prepare?

Naku sir need mo magfocus on slowly on every area. wag mo po madaliin.

sakin sumabak ako ng first try ko 2019-03: PTE Exam - L59,R75,S62,W64 (no preparation)

onting youtube lang ginawa ko nung una at practice.

Need mo ma familiarize sa every exam type. May mga type of exam na todo memorize ka talaga na tipong kahit makakita ka sa labas ng graph alam mo na sasabihin mo. depende sayo po yan kung ganu karaming time iinvest mo daily. kasi pag nag start ka mag practice d mo na rin mapapnsin talaga ang lumilipas na oras. mainly APEUni ako + Youtube + mga tips dito sa writing.

Thank you! Yes, free po yung full mock test on both pero 1 time lang per account. Ang trick na ginawa ko is that I create a temporary email then sign-up para makapag mock test. Once natapos ko na yung test, i-assess ko yung performance ko ang take note of the mistakes. Then gawa ulit temp email para makapag sign-up for another free mock test.

Do note na same padin mga questions kapag nag mock test ka ulit from the same site. I only use the mock test to familiarize and affirm my strategies and not memorize the questions. Pang tanggal ng kaba na din.

No templates for SST. Sinulat ko lang lahat ng mga keywords and understand that lecture the best I can. Then compose ka lang ng paragraph with including all of the details mentioned on the recording. Mind lang the spelling and grammar.

    Good luck with your test!

    Happy New Year! :)

Multiple Choice items - regardless kung multiple or single answer, only give 2 minutes each question to give you more time on more important tasks. Isa lang pinili ko kahit multiple answer kasi may negative markings dito.

FIB - In both R&W or Reading, practice reading the entire sentence on where the blank is located. Tapos basahin mo ng malakas, yung nadidinig mo sarili mo. Kasi dito makakatulong na mapili mo yung correct na word para sa sentence. Parang mas obvious na mali yung ibang items sa drop down or sa list kapag binabasa mo sya ng malakas.

Re-Order Paragraph - Read each box and look for the one na complete yung thought and doesn't really need anything else. That is your first answer. Then hanapin mo yung next box na same ng thought as the first. Almost everytime, laging magkasunod yung thought nila. Then process of elimination kana sa rest of the options. Tapos basahin mo ng isang bagsak yung nare-order mo na to make sure tama yung thought nung paragraph at hindi magulo.

    LISTENING
Multiple Choice Items - same lang sa Reading. Don't focus to much on this kasi kapag naubusan ka ng time sa WFD mas malaki bawas sa overall score mo kasi isa sa pinaka importanteng item ang WFD sa may pinaka-huling part ng exam.

FIB & SMW & HCS - Listen carefully lang on the missing words or the key notes. Hindi naman na maingay kung nasa reading or listening part na lahat ng kasama mo sa test area kaya madali na mag focus dito. Pero wag mo ubusin oras mo kasi nga nasa huli ang pinaka important.

HIW - Isunod mo yung mouse cursor sa passage word for word habang nagsasalita yung recording.

Also wag mo intindihin spelling habang nag type and listen. I-correct mo nalang kapag tapos na yung recording kasi nawawala ka sa focus kapag nagcocorrect ka ng spelling habang nag type and listen.

    Practice time = 1month / 2-4 hours everyday
20 items per question type (apeuni weekly predictions) everyday
1 full mock test (79score and language academy) everyday

Ayun hopefully may nashare ako na makatulong at hindi kayo lalong naguluhan. Mahirap talaga pero sobrang worth it kapag nakuha nyo yung desired score nyo. Sobrang sarap sa pakiramdam.

Alright, thank you for reading and good luck! :)

    Good day, PinoyAU folks!

Just wanna confirm, in the actual exam, will you be able to type your notes on the text box while listening to the lecture for a Summarize Spoken Text task?

I tried it on a PTE Practice Test and pwede, not sure baka iba pala at mabigla ako pag actual exam na, lol!

I find it so much easier and efficient kasi to type dahil mabagal ako magsulat. Sana may makasagot. Thanks so much!

Hi po. Question po, kasi po ang PTE ko expired sya July 2021. (2years validity per PTE), but sa EOI kasi, inaask lang if you had taken English exam in the last three years. Valid pa rin namn po itong PTE ko diba if EOI is concerned and will not be a basis for refusal later? Thank you

Hello po. Meron ba kayong alam na magandang Review Center for PTE? I'm planning to take the PTE this March 2022. And also, what institution/company ang nag ko-conduct ng PTE test dito sa Manila? Like for IELTS, I know IDP gives IELTS exams. What about sa PTE Exams, sino po ang nagko-conduct ng exams?

Yes po. 3 years ang validity ng english exam for any migration purposes. If I am not mistaken, sa student applicants lang required yung 2 years validity of pte.

Not sure po sa mga review centre sa pinas sorry but you may check e2language, language academy, moni pte magic sa youtube. Big help sila sa mga pte test takers :) pwede ka din mag register sa kanila for online review (but they might be a lil bit pricey) . Also for practice, I used ApeUni https://www.apeuni.com/en

If nasa pinas ka you can try Niners. Pero alam ko wala silang f2f review ngayon for PTE, online review lang sila. Just do what hiraki said big help sila kahit yung mga nasa youtube channels lang nila. Practice lang talaga.

Yes E2language in Youtube super helpful. Bsta every day practice. I also got the practice exam of PTE mismo. Just to get a feel of the exact exam. I could say very helpful as well. The access is good for a year, so after you, you can share it with your friend or someone that might also want to practice.

Share ko lang po score ko, took PTE nung dec 11. Sumabit sa listening at writing, mostly sa SWT, SST at sa essay. :(
nagreview po ako for months using APEuni and youtube predictions pero wala akong nakuha sa mismong exam ng mga similar questions.
nagcheck ako ngayon sa Language Academy ng mga resources at nandun ung ibang tanong na nakuha ko sa weekly predictions nila. Yung tips nila ang ggamitin ko next time for listening and writing.

[Topic] has become and integral part of the rising debate in the present world..... _
SWT - Kuha lang ng 1-3 sentences from the paragraph then palit lang ng konting words na synonyms
SST - ung format na _[Topic] is the main topic of the lecture. Firstly,.. Moreover,.. In conclusion.

Ayun effective nman. bali ung sa iba ang ginawa ko
    DL, RL - Jimmysen Template
Multiple choice - pag di sure sa 2ng sagot. isa lang sinagot ko kasi correct minus wrong ito

Tnry ko muna kung effective sa mock test, nung pasado nman, retake na ulit.

    yehey!

Salamat po sa mga tips dito! :)

Share ko lang po score ko, took PTE nung dec 11. Sumabit sa listening at writing, mostly sa SWT, SST at sa essay. :(
nagreview po ako for months using APEuni and youtube predictions pero wala akong nakuha sa mismong exam ng mga similar questions.
nagcheck ako ngayon sa Language Academy ng mga resources at nandun ung ibang tanong na nakuha ko sa weekly predictions nila. Yung tips nila ang ggamitin ko next time for listening and writing.

[Topic] has become and integral part of the rising debate in the present world..... _
SWT - Kuha lang ng 1-3 sentences from the paragraph then palit lang ng konting words na synonyms
SST - ung format na _[Topic] is the main topic of the lecture. Firstly,.. Moreover,.. In conclusion.

Ayun effective nman. bali ung sa iba ang ginawa ko
    DL, RL - Jimmysen Template
Multiple choice - pag di sure sa 2ng sagot. isa lang sinagot ko kasi correct minus wrong ito

Tnry ko muna kung effective sa mock test, nung pasado nman, retake na ulit.

    yehey!

Salamat po sa mga tips dito! :)

Sa trident po ba kayo nagexam?

    _Jeremiah 29:11-12 _
