Hi anyone applied for visa 887 recently? Just want to ask how long ang wating period.. Sabe kasi sa aus immigration 9 months na ang process time

Hi @sef sorry for the very late reply. Me and my partner are already PR since late last year. we were sponsored by tassie but we moved to regional victoria eventually. i did not ask for permission because there was no agreement that we signed with the state BUT as courtesy, i informed them that we will be moving.

some sponsoring states have official agreement document (NT, NSW, etc) and if it states that permission is required, then it should be asked.

depending on the agreement with the sponsoring state, you may or may not require a permission. But it is always a good thing to say thank you and good bye

@czams ang naka indicate dun sa bridging visa is mag take effect siya once expired na yung current visa. Yes automatic na they will send you a bridging visa

Hi po sa lahat.
Question lang : sa mga applicants for 887, sa case namen we were living sa sis in law ko for 2yrs so wala kameng proof of billing for utilities kasi di naman nakapangalan samen. Ano kaya pwedeng isubmit aside from that asproof of residency?

You can ask your sis in law a statutory dec that you are living with them. Any letters sent to you on your address can also be used as proof of residency.

@ czams, we lodged our visa887 application last March23, residency visa granted July12. (less than 4 months )

Hi Guys,

Maybe, some of us here (future applicant, including me) considering visa 489 as alternative option aside from visa 190, were still doubtful about advantage and disadvantages of being under this visa.

For those who had/have personal experience, can you give us a bit of an idea of how's the life of being a holder of temporary visa (489). Any major benefits you received that unknown to many, along with the drawback, if there was ex. health care issues, job opportunities, schooling for kiddos and so on.

Your answer will be a great impact on my soonest possible decision.

Nag-stay kami ng partner ko sa Tassie for about 10 months. I found a permanent job sa Geelong kaya we moved. Di ako nag-work sa Tasmania kasi walang work na aligned sa skillset ko. Di din naman sila tumatanggap ng di aligned sa requirements nila kaya me and my partner treated those months as holiday and semi-retirement period.

If you are able to do 190, go for it as it's a direct PR application. Would want to know kung ano ang consideration to choose 489 over 190 if you can apply directly for PR.

Life on 489? You've got to be prepared to live without medicare and other government benefits. I think anyone who's migrating to other country has to be prepared for a big move anyway. That meant that you have enough money to pay for your own/family's upkeep for at least a year. Better kung longer. Kaya may recommendation na you have to bring at least $30k ata (don't remember exactly the figures) when you move (higher if with partner and kids) because you want to expect the very least expectation when you move.

Job prospects? Depende sa place where you'll live. Not much an issue para sa designated area sponsored kasi some can live in big cities. For state regional sponsored like in my case, medjo mahirap for my industry. Ang mostly in demand sa Tasmania e yung aged care, support worker, mga ganung work na wala naman din akong qualification, training or experience. Sa field ko naman, may mga credentialing hurdles. That's another thing to consider.

So go for 190 if you can. If you are prepared and expect at to live without any job for at least half a year to a year while being able to pay a rent, get a car, and take care of you and family's daily expenses (which may or may not happen), then you're fine with either.

Hope these helps. And by the way, one thing that I realised quite late sa Tassie is the subsidy ng state for a TAFE course. Usually subsidies like this are only offered to citizens/PR pero the state was kind enough to extend that subsidy to 489 state sponsored visa holders. Malaki din ang difference (ex full fee 25,000, subsidised place 700). I'm not sure sa ibang states kung they have the same thing.

IT po ako mainframe (natural adabas/cobol) programmer/production support pero open din ako for QA/testing though wala pa ko experience dito. Meron po kaya akong chance makahanap ng work jan? Hi @MissOZdreamer. Counselling ang field ko. Nag-volunteer ako sa not-for-profit sa Tassie pero most of our time ng partner ko, nag-libot kami sa Tasmania. Mainly sa Launceston kami nag-settle pero minsan sa farm ng pinsan ko kami sa Devonport. Minsan interstate mostly sa Melbourne and Sydney. May family din ako interstate kaya we visit frequently. Nakaka-bored din ang mag gala gala kasi puro talaga nature sa Tasmania.

Ready naman kami ni partner when we moved and sabi ko nga, may family naman ako na mga Australians na kaya no need na mag odd jobs. Si partner naka work ng project based with Australian Electoral Commission.

Saan ka ba ngayon? Wala na kami sa Tasmania, dito na kami nakatira sa Geelong (about an hour drive from Melbourne). Madaming IT jobs sa Melbourne. Dito sa Geelong, meron din naman na mga IT. Major employer would be Deakin University. Nag-fu-fulfill ka pa ba ng visa condition mo or 887 na?

@filsgoz hello. Thanks sa response. Very helpful waiting pa lang ako ng ITA ngayon. Mababa ang points ko 60pts lang without SS kya on the road ako to superior PTE. Im also looking for other options pano ako magkaka ITA ng mabilis kya im checking tasmania. I had the privilege to visit some places in tassie like Hobart, Richmond, Port Arthur, Wineglass bay, Bruny island, Tamar Valley, Stanley and Launceston. Korek ka jan puro nature sa Tassie. Meron din naman ako nakitang pinoy sa supermarket. Though ang hindi ko sure ung IT jobs dun kasi wala akong friends or family sa Tassie kaya no idea ako.hehe tsaka di ko din sure pano ung magiging buhay ko dun kasi iba naman ung vacation dahil ilang days lang un unlike pag nag settle down dun na matagal talaga.

Im single po kaya alone ako ppunta ng tassie if ever. Iniisip ko kung kakayanin ko ba ang life dun. Super laid back dun at ang tahimik ng mga places unlike sydney and melbourne na naassess ko talaga na kakayanin ko mag isa kasi city sya kya un sana target ko. Kaya lang sa mga nangyayaring changes ngayon at hindi pa ko nakaka superior sa PTE napapaisip akong madiliin ang aussie application ko.hehe

Lets say meron akong 489 sa tassie at hindi ako nakahanap ng IT job dun for 6 months, pede din ba ko lumipat ng ibang state? Anong reqts need isubmit? Dapat ba may offer na ko sa state na lilipatan ko? Thanks so much sa help God bless

60 points plus SS is alright na. May mga Pinoy din naman dun especially sa Lonnie. Kung matuloy ka sa Tassie, let me know

Tama ka, it's different when you're just visiting to settling in a place. Tassie is very very laid back especially if you're from the city. I'm not sure of the IT jobs prospects though. Baka meron naman di lang kasi ako naghahanap ng IT jobs and wala ako kakilala sa Tassie na nsa IT industry.

I don't know kung ano na ang requirements for 489 sa Tassie. Back then, you have to have at least a job offer, or strong ties in Tassie (eg family, business, properties), or you studied there for you to be sponsored. Nung nag-apply ako ng SS, I submitted the form with an essay why me and my partner would like to settle in Tassie plus copy ng positive skills assessment. The state was very responsive. When I finalised yung application namin, the next day we got the sponsorship. Don't worry about moving interstate at this stage. Focus your energy to get in first. I don't find any issues with moving interstate. Tassie is very understanding and based on different forum postings, it's not an issue. Some States may agreement that you'll sign, just pay attention on what's required if you need to move.

Australia will give you a fair go. They will always do. And they will not withhold any permission or whatever unreasonably. So chill lang and power on. Kung ako si ikaw, I'll start applying for SS already. Excited for you girl!

@filsgoz thanks so much sa response. Appreciate it nagsubmit na ko EOI 489 sa tassie last July 8. Currently, I have 8 eoi's.hehe ang purpose ko po is makakuha ng ITA agad para makakuha ng SG coc (certificate of clearance) kasi need ang ITA para makakuha nun and mejo matagal kunin si SG coc kaya gusto ko sana maprocress sya agad. pero ang plan ko is wait tlaga si visa 189 or 190 nsw/vic for visa lodgement. Kaso ngayon napapaisip ako na kung sino man mauuna magbigay ng ITA why not ituloy tuloy ko na application kasi sayang naman im really praying for God's favor and guidance sa mga decisions ko.

Meron akong friend na sa adelaide sya 489 tas di sya nakahanap ng IT job kya lumipat sila ng hubby nya sa sydney. Ayun pinayagan naman sila. Pero that was several years ago na. Im not sure ano na process ngayon.

Sige if ever sa tassie ako ill let you know mejo may halong kaba ang excitement ang OZ dream na ito.hehe sana talaga makapunta na ko jan soon.

anong states pala ung may signed agreement? Ano un agreement na di pede lumipat ng ibang state?

@MissOZdreamer same tayo ICT din ako.. at ni coconsider ko yun Tasmania kasi sa mga nababasa ko okay naman daw dun. good for you na madami ka ng napuntahan sa Tassie ako wala pa puro basa lang.. If ever na ma approved ako dun single din ako na pupunta dun at walang kilala maski isa kaya nakakakaba at excite at the same time. hopefully maging okay ang lahat sa atin.

@MissOZdreamer sa Adelaide di mo na try mag lodge ng 489 visa? Ano pla yung occupation ng friend mo na di naka hanap ng job sa Adelaide? If that was several years ago baka di pa booming yung ict sa state or nasa start up phase plang since regional. But now I think isa sa aim ni Adelaide is ICT growth.

@coachella9 ang nababasa ko with regards sa payment pwede ka mag advance payment sa CC mo parang pag ginamit mo yung card mo hndi sya ma decline if ever na kulang sa credit card limit. kasi magkakatalo dyan is exchange rate kaya hindi masasabi yung exact amount. pwede mo tawagan yung cc na kung pwede ganun yung gagawin mo.

Volatile ang demand ng ICT, minsan tinatanggal minsan full force and lahat ng ICT jobs sa list Look, if di bababa ang points mo while waiting (dahil sa age, expiration ng skills assessment, etc), wait for 189. If maaapektuhan ang points mo if you wait, go for 489. Pumunta ka sa Novena and ask Him kung ano ang tamang panahon for you Kakamiss naman talaga ang SG.

@Hunter_08 hello. Thankful nga ako kay God na nakapunta ako sa tassie. Pansin ko lang nun kokonti ang tao dun tas an tahimik as in province talaga sya kya ngdadalawang isip tlaga ako. kung mahilig ka sa hiking mag eenjoy ka dun. Pede din makita dun ang aurora australis ung parang aurora borealis every winter. If ever na sa tassie ako mapupunta siguro photography ang pede ko maging hobby kasi madami magandang places to see.

@coachella9 hello. Nka lodge na din ako eoi for 489 sa adelaide waiting for ITA din IT ung friend ko. I think around 2013 sila nag move sa nsw. Siguro that time di pa boom ang IT sa adelaide. May balita ka ba kung dami work opportunities for IT sa adelaide?

Regarding visa payment, ang pede is credit card or paypal. Dati pede ang debit card unionbank eon pero ngayon di na. Na try mo na mgpa increase ng credit limit? Ask mo if pede mag increase kahit temporary lng like 10 days. Alam ko may gumawa ng ganun bdo credit card nya.
