Tanong nyo sa Australian embassy how to come here as skilled worker-nurse.
Dahil Hindi Ito totoo. In the future only 3 major hospitals will be operational. The rest of hospital about 4-5 will cease to provide tertiary health care like a normal hospital does. So staffing wise will need less nurses.
To give you a brief truth in nursing job as adelaide. In public sector at least no permanent work as nurse. Mostly casual that means may work if they need you, but they can cancel your shift on the same day. Also no direct hiring from Philippines. Because you need to study in our University for a 1 year to two year course. I think it's called graduate entry. Then you need to pass an English test taken in Australia either IELTS or OET. Then register to Aphra. Once you get your licence to practice you have to apply as GNP/TPPP as mga hospital. This is equivalent to internship in Philippines. That goes for a year. Once done it your own your own to find a nursing job by applying in different hospitals and nursing homes. Very few employers will automatically employ you. Very very few employers offer permanent residence as well.
With so many Australian nurses looking for work here. You have to be very competitive.
Hope this helps.

Nag Work ka as Nurse dyan. po?
What do you mean by this? Hmmm na curious tuloy ako...
Ohhh No, my chances are slim kong baga... But Hopeful naman... What are the 3 major hospitals ng Adelaide po?

But after that naglagay ang government ng isang agency who looks after employing/hiring in any public hospital. Kasi ang sabi ng "labor government ay over the budget daw ang public health". Since then if you need apply through these agency para maka kuha ng employment. Parang agency ba (of course no work no pay).
Employment ay very slim to impossible. Kaya dapat magaral ka dito ng graduate entry in nursing para maconvert and philippines nursing licence. Tapos mag pumasa ka dapat ng IELTS or OET taken here in Australia hindi dyan sa philippines not counted yan.
Since I am working as tutor in universities meron din akong na-memeet na filipino students.
So if you are going via an agency sasabihin nila na may trabaho sa adelaide.
Hindi kita tinatakot kabayan, pero you are always welcome to come here. Yung nga you have to prepare yourself na it is a costly and longterm way ito.
So that means yung 3-4 other major hospital will stop providing tertiray health care. Nasa media nga namin ito at naglabas ng memo ang big boss namin na "this is not the case".
Kaya maraming filo student ang nag-aaral dito sa Adelaide kasi mura ang way of living at maliit lang na city ito.
Good luck

What area ka nag trabaho sa Royal Adelaide po? is it only Royal Adelaide ang public hospitals diyan? i think yan po ang pinaka Malaki na hospital sa Adelaide.
So in other words, regarding sa Agency, not all advertisement are 100% true and in fact if you take it, its your risk of doing it. But kong makuha ka nmn, (kong swertehin) sigurado po bang sa Royal Adelaide ka mag work or Fraud talaga yong advertisement nila? kahit part time lang? or Anong makukuha naman nila sa akin po? usually wla nmn bayad pag under ka sa agency nag apply?
Ano ibig sabiihin ng BGP/TPPP po?
Yes mejo mahirapn ako pag direct Overseas, paano po if galing nang ibang bansa po experience as a nurse, counted po ba yun? Most likely, i will still need to undergo the education diyan...
Salamat talaga kabayan

Oo sa RAH mainly ako nagtratrabaho. Nag agency din ako for 2 years para ma feel ko rin and ibang hospital (private man or public).
3 major hospital in the future at least by (?)2017
Royal Adelaide Hospital
Flinders Public Hospital
Lyell McEwin Hospital
Currently offering tertiary health (means may ED, ICU and specialties) care but will be closed or converted to rehab or holding facility
The Queen Elizabeth Hospital
Modbury public hospital
Hampstead Rehabilitation Centre
Repat Hospital
Will Remain operational
Glenside Hospital (Mental hospital)
Women's and Children Hospital (mother and children hospital)
In regards to agency yes true ->take it at your own risk.
That is kung hiring sila. But in yor case I am not sure. Just based sa mga tinuturuan kung filo di to sa Flinders University and University of South Australia sabi ng mga filo students (who are mostly also nurses back in the philippines "requirements to study first in Australia before you can register to practice". So I assume in Adelaide at least walang direct hiring from philippines. Direct hiring is possible.

I see..now i understand. I can see, marami sigurong agencies making false promises sa mga nurses na galing Philippines. And when they arrived there, mukhang mahihirapan kasi you will still need to take their bridging program, etc.
Salamat Kabayan. Saludo.

Private and public hospital is more of personal choice. It my line of work ito ang so far nalaman ko in regards to working public and private hospitals.
May difference in a way. Now hindi ako nagwork directly under private sector. Nagwork ako sa mga ilang naming private hospital dito under nursing agency (Ashford, Wakefield, St Andrew's and Burnside hospitals.
Pay wise in general slightly better and pay ng public - at least in my calculation $2000/annum more than private. Sick leave mas marami ang public. May mga private hospital na sinasabing other benefits pero I didn't explore that more. Maternity leave mas generous and public. May difference ng kunti sa superannuation.
Salary sacrifice benefits mas generous ang private kaysa public hospital.
Workwise:
Mas busy ang public health sector kasi nga libre and hospital dito as long as you're a medicare card holder. In general ang public ED hospital ay open 24 hours vs private which mostly closes at 11pm. Also those patient with private health care insurances goes to the public kasi karamihan ng ED admissions ay after-hours ng private hospitals.
But in private karamihan ng patient mo ay independent-naglalakad, self cares. Sa public medyo mahirap heavy karamihan dependent patients galing mga nursing homes especially medical wards. Kasi mahal mag private hospital dito.
Now mga mental health patients na-aadmit sila under public than private hospital kahit may insurance sila. Kasi most of these patients kung maadmit ay potential for physical and verbal abuses to health staff lalo na kung may drug related ito. Kailangan nila ng security guard na magbantay or extra special 1:1 nurse to control patient ftom lashing out or escaping the hospital. Ngayon sa private ang explanation sa akin ay kaya hindi sila "daw" nagtatangap ng patient ay dahil aggressive sila, private insurance do not have cover security guard for obvious reason, private hospital not equip to deal with these type of patients. Private patients are nice if you look after them very well. But they can get into nasty mode if expectations were not met. They can say as simple as "I am paying for you to do your job".
In ICU, well mostly sa public ICU mixed and cause and age group.
In private hospital if your patient suddenly gets unwell "crashed" nurses have to call anon-call doctor and received instruction from the doctor. PAtient will not get to see a doctor in about at least 1 hour in my experience. So as a nurse you have to keep patient stable while you wait for the doctor. Sa Public hospitals, doctors are 24 hours although not the patient's usual doctor but at least treatment is not delayed.
Of course it is expected that you accept that working in Private hospital can be a bit business orientated.
Others:
Sa private you have to ensure that yung hospital na lilipatan mo belongs to the same company.
Ok Kabayan I hope that I didn't scare you off again. Disclosure lang na above information are based on my experiences. You still have to do your research. But in terms of job hunting I will not be bother choosing private vs public. Basta kung sino ang naghihire apply ASAP. You can go to the hospital you wish to work later. Ang importante may-trabaho ka kaagad.

Annual leave 6 weeks (30days) awarded annually.
Long service leave 3 months (after 10 years continous of service in a public hospital)
