@joseph85 wait... nagresign ka na ba sa work mo? if hindi pa, as long as may IC (epass,spass,etc) ka pa at OEC tied on your existing company, libre pa ung mga nabanggit mo?

@joseph85 pag PR naman may babayaran ka na 200 pesos para sa admin fee. mas mura pa din oec pag may valid owwa ka pa.

Ive been following this thread..tanong ko lng if meron sa inyo chef ang profession na pwede mag share sa process..esp sa skills assessment/practical exam.base in sg din po kami ng hubby. Hubby ko po ang chef and sya po primary applicant in case tuloy po kami mag apply for oz...maraming salamat po!

The travel tax exemption is applicable if and when you are a resident doon sa destination mo. Resident means either SG PR ka or holder ng work passes (EP/SP/WP etc).

Otherwise, you are a tourist (even LTSVP Holders are considered as tourists) so you'll have to pay for the travel tax. This will be applicable for you, based on what you described above. Unless, your hubby can get his employer to cancel his work pass only on your return. In which case, pwede pa kayo kumuha ng OEC and thus be exempted from paying the travel tax.

@kittykitkat18 yun situation mo ang di ko sure kung ano hahanapin ng immigration. pwede itry na para admin fee lang bayaran in lieu of oec, ipapakita mo yung tatak ng CFO at ticket to Au. sana pumayag ang nagiisyu ng cert. kasi ang alam ko pag SG PR at nagtravel sa ibang bansa for leisure coming at going to pinas kailangan magbayad ng travel tax.

You'll be asked to pay for the travel tax. As I said in my earlier post, applicable lang ang exemption if you're a resident dun sa destination mo, which in this case, is Singapore.

@kittykitkat18 kung technicalities ang pagbabasihan, PDOS (likewise with OEC) ay to the specific destination country. pag may en route (third country), medyo may risk na pagbabayarin parin ng travel tax. unless perhaps, same ticket (hindi separate) itinerary and "layover" lang sa SG . then baka makalusot, pero alam mo naman immigration natin

if wala ka na balak talaga bumalik pa, then parang walang sense mag maintain ng PRship dito. di ka naman pwede mag convert ng citizen kasi di nila recognized dual nationalities.

pero if feeling mo, babalik ka pa for whatever reason, then pwede mo siya maintain. ung risk lang ay hindi na mare-renew REP mo. or even if, bibigyan ka lang ng kaunting time (1 month to 1 year?). and if may trabaho ka na sa australia, iri-risk mo ba mag resign ule.

Ganyan din ginawa namin, though PR pa kami ng bumalik sa SG. Some of my friends did the same too.

I'm assuming na:

- You're taking up PDOS before leaving PH
- Have a 1 way PH -> SG ticket
- Have a SG -> AU ticket before ka umalis ng Pinas.

Chances are the PH Immig Officers will be looking for all of the above.

Sa case ko, we didn't do the PDOS (walang time) but hindi naman hinanap coz SG PR pa kami ng bumalik ng SG.

Just to add, if may sufficient funds ka naman to move then it might be better to keep your SG PR. Malaki kasi interest sa CPF funds mo, as compared to putting it to banks here.

One thing to note is that it can be quite a hassle to withdraw your CPF from AU. If I am not mistaken, a friend had to go to Canberra para lang malakad lahat.

Pinagiisipan pa namin since ang worry namin is ung funds nga to move to OZ. Preferred namin is to use my CPF para makabili ng bahay na dun kasi once na withdraw ko sya mauubos at mauubos lang if mapupunta lang sa monthly gastos.

Kaya so far ang plano lang is to look for jobs while nandito sa SG. I know mas mababa ang chances pero i cant risk kasi na pumunta dun and wait for several months bago makakuha ng work. Wala kasi kaming relatives dun to support us.

I agree -- you should start looking for a job while you're still in SG. One might say suntok sa buwan but you'll never know until you try. A friend of mine, also SG based noon, managed to find a Sydney based job while nasa SG sya so minimal ang downtime nya when he landed in AU. Yeah. he got lucky.

Not sure if you're aware but once you land in AU, you might be eligible for financial support from the government, lalo na if you have kids.

@Miyawski Yup pumunta din kami ng ACT last year. Yung bus terminal nila at 7:30 pm e pang horror movie na hehe walang katao tao.

Actually part of the reason kaya ayaw namin sumugal na lumipat agad without guaranteed work kasi we have a new born baby. financially di pwede mabakante hehe, I heard about that financial support from government pero is it really that enough? and we have no idea how to be eligible or yung process to claim.

Oo nga pala about renouncing PR, gaano pala katagal yung process? Makukuha mo ba lahat including medisave? yung amount reflected sa cpf e wala pang yung interest dun diba? Thanks!
