Good day!

Me and wife are both registered nurses here in the Philippines, both graduated in 2008. I have no experience working as a nurse, my wife had 1 year experience as a nurse in a hospital in 2009. I focused on my internet marketing business together with my wife from 2009 up until now.

We are strongly considering studying nursing or sttending bridging program.

Here are my questions:

1. Should we start working in a local hospital here for experience, and for how many months/years? It is very confusing because I read in some agencies in the Philippines that 3 months is OK and some requires 2 years hospital experience.

2. How much will it cost? We have saved quite and I pray it would be sufficient for us,

3. How long is the bridging program?

4. After graduating in Australia, is permanent visa an almost guarantee? How about working opputunitues?

Thanks you so much for those who will help!

@FutureAUhopefulluy Hi, unfortunately with the experience that you both have i don't think you can do bridging course (3mos). What you can do perhaps is a conversion course. Some schools offer 1 yr and others have it for 2 yrs. My husband spent around $30,000 for his nursing course in Deakin. Its just a 1 yr study. You can try searching other schools that might offer this at a lower fee. After graduating, you have a 99.9% chance in getting a PR Visa as long as you have enough points to be invited. You just need to make sure that you have documents/proofs/evidences of the points that you'll be claiming. The requirement that you might actually need is the recency of practice before you can apply for ANMAC skill assessment (a requirement for PR Visa). You need to provide evidence that you have practised for a period equivalent to a minimum of three months full time, within the past five years. :) God bless to you both!
