I would say ang isa sa mga challenging na naranasan nmin d2 is about childcare and household chores. when we were in dubai, we’ve got stay-in nanny to take care of our daughter..all around cia so pagdating nmin sa haus everything has been sorted out, malinis ang haus, malinis na ang bata, kakain ka na lang pag-uwi, prang senyorito lng ba..hehe..but when we moved here everything is opposite!...:(( waaahaha!!..ikaw ang magiging all-around sa haus..yaya, labandero, cook, gardener, driver, name it and you gotta do it!..haha!...especially nung nanganak c misis last year with our 2nd baby..struggle talaga kmi pareho..im in charged with my eldest, I drop off and pick her up at school, buti na lng flexible sa ofc..si wife of course sa new bub nmin na super iyakin haha..sa food nagluluto na kmi sa gabi so init na lng the next day kc wla ng chance makapagluto si misis kc occupied na cia sa 2 bata..
one thing we’ve learned esp. if you’ve got kids, train them to be an independent kids as early as possible.simple things like how to tidy up their room, eat by themselves, etc. things that we thought small stuff lng pro means a lot to parents na hindi na natin gagawin..
1.5 years na kmi d2, and so far ok nman na, sanayan lang yan sbi nga nila..sa una lang may struggle kc you’re not used to it..hay buhay oz!..but we're happy of how things are goin, each day you'll learn to appreciate the value of a family and you'll be matured enough to handle circumstances..
and good thing, currently my parents are here for a year to help us out..saka ko na lng iisipin ulit kung pano na naman childcare nmin pag umuwi na cla..so for the meantime relaks-relaks muna pag may time.. :D

iinet kami; we first applied sa telstra but nagka leche leche as they need documentations which unemployed people cannot provide as of the moment... :)

100gb/100gb itong plan namin at $90/month; mahal comparatively sa binabayaran ko before sa Singapore but pwede na rin... Think this allocation should be enough tp download movies once in a while. :)

Way to inspire us new migrants! Thanks for sharing. Btw, I assume you applied for tourist visa for the parents? My wife and I are planning to do the same when our tiny tot comes out, although I was under the impression na 3 months lang ang tourist visa. Did you specify on the application that you needed them to stay for longer?

    iinet kami;
Yay iiNet! How easy was the connection process? Is the support good? Are you satisfied with the overall service?

Support was okey to be honest... I was just pissed off with the inefficiency of how they handle the connection, umabot ng 2wks. Sa Singapore kasi, within 2hrs connected ka na.

I could just imagine if we move house, hassle na naman ito!! :D

@psychoboy one of the many inefficiencies pa lang yan dito, napakabagal ng customer service dito at terrible.

@Metaform, yep it's a 676 visa, in the form 48R I ticked the 'up to 12 mos'..but sa stat. declaration that I provided sinabi ko lang 9mos sila mag stay..yet they were granted a 1 year visa..pag parents of PR lenient nman sila, they can grant up to 1 year visa, and lately daw they can grant up to 3-year or 5-year valid visa..

    @akino -

    quick questions lang:
    1. what documents did your parents have to show?
    2. may show money ba?
    3. what documents did you show?
    4. did you have to submit proof of funds?

    thanks in advance :)

@021607 share ko lang din the list of documents we have submitted when we invited my mum to come here as a tourist for 1 year. What I normally do is prepare everything including filling out the 48R form para all my mum has to do is sign. Then I will include a list of documents submitted by xxx tapos mama ko na bahala mag arrange ng documents as per the list. Below is the sample.

    Documents submitted by Julie Ignacia:
    REFERENCE #: ___________________

    1. Visitor Visa Application (Form 48R) with passport photo
    2. Manager’s cheque of Phpx, xxx for the scheduled fee made payable to Australian
    Embassy
    3. Passport – Julie Ignancia
    4. One (1) passport sized photograph – Julie Ignacia
    5. Statutory Declaration – Juan Tamad and Juana Tamad
    6. Copy of Marriage Certificate - Juan Tamad and Juana Ignancia
    7. Copy of Juana Ignacia – Certificate of Live Birth
    8. Copy of Passport details – Juan and Juana Tamad
    9. Copy of Tenancy Agreement of 11/55 Kerk St, Watsy Bay, NSW 2500
    10. Copy of Juana Tamad - Payslips for the pay period 10-Nov-11 to 01-Feb-2012
    11. Copy of Juana Tamad - Income Tax Notice of Assessment for the year ending 30-Jun-11
    12. Copy of Juan Tamad – Income Tax Notice of Assessment for the year ending 30-Jun-11
    13. Copy of Juan & Juana Tamad National Australia Bank (NAB) Statement for the period 5 June 2011 – 6 December 2012.

And other documents which you think might be of help. Walang show money mama ko dahil sinabi namin sa stat dec na we will provide return airfare, accom, shopping money, medical expenses and other incidentals.

The reason I include a marriage certificate is to show my maiden name (changed my surname when I got married and the live birth certificate will show proof of your relationship with your mother/parents. Only the marriage certificate, live birth certificate, passport details and tenancy agreement or copy of property valuation (if you own the place) are to be "certified true copy" by the Justice of Peace. The rest photocopy lang.

Naku wala kaming big balance mga 5k lang yata ang importante makita nila na may sweldo pumapasok regularly and they can match it with your payslip.

If ever u want a sample stat dec na ginamit ko nung pinapunta ko mama ko dito to help look after our newborn PM mo ako sa email add mo.

Challenge i find here in au is bullying at work. Sa 4 yrs ko sa nz, no one has bullied me. Pero wala pa akong 1 yr sa work, there is this brit Graham crackers he always picks on me! As in even the smallest of things he will find talaga a snide comment to say kahit not about work.
Tomorrow i will report him kasi strike 3 na sya sa akin.. May mga little things pa he does pero i will let it be na pero kanina napa iyak talaga ako after work. Nakakainis na talaga.
I will see what the management will do..

Ayaw maniwala sakin promise!! May attitude talaga mga British nurses, as in. Akala siguro nun 12 yrs old lang ako. :-B

She probably thinks I'm this new doctor na hindi puti, na hindi alam ang ginagawa. I mean, if I were wrong, kaya ko naman tanggapin. The thing is, there is a protocol and sinusunod ko lang naman.. I told her, it's protocol and there's nothing to know or argue about! So, ni-report ko siya. She backed off. Her nurse manager apologized. She kept her distance, parang ayaw niya na ako makabangga, hehe.

Pansin ko dito, pag palaban ka, they will back off. Also, the other Pinoy nurses told me din na ganun daw talaga ibang mga puting nurses. Pati nga sila na 5-10 years na dito, naka-experience din from colleagues.

    awrayt.. astig@Nadine

i think ganun talaga ang mga ibang lahi.. pag may nakitang bagong salta, threat/competition agad ang tingin, they will challenge you... pero pag naprove nila na alam mo ang ginagawa mo.. aatras din sila sa laban..

    go pinoyski!!

We sent our CV's na while here in SG, and now both of us have the job offer na while here in SG (hubby's job offer last week and mine yesterday). Now I'm thinking how we'll settle in Oz if both of us are working?

Sa mga may kids in primary level pano po setup nyo if both parents are working fulltime? Whole day ba usually sa school? Or sa mga schools ba sa Oz may facility (like childcare) na after school dun muna magstay yung bata until sunduin ng parent?

Sending them back to Philippines is not an option for me. I badly need your inputs guys, any advice please.

@sydneyblued congratulations! You both are very blessed to get a job while in SG. :)

Just a watch out, day care / child care centres here have usually a wait list. :) There are some nannys but they charge around 20-25AUD an hour. For primary level kids, yes they do have long day care din. Anong age ng kids nyo?

@sydneyblued Congratulations! Alam nyo, bibihira ang nakakakuha ng job from abroad, so yung na-achieve nyo eh malaking bagay na.

Ako nag-move galing SG, ang pinaka-malaking challenge is day care, bali sa inyo yung after school care siguro. Get familiar na sa work area nyo and plan kung saan kayo titira. You'll probably need relatives to help you, or negotiate mo yung start date mo 1 month after mag-start ang partner mo sa work. I was able to negotiate my start date so dumating ako dito 2 weeks prior to my start date so I had enough time to buy car at mga essentials. Karamihan ng day care dito will charge you extra kung late mo ma-pick-up anak mo.

Masyado mahaba pag-sinulat ko lahat ng learning ko dito, anyhow, kung may tanong ka pa, wag ka mag-hesitate and I'd be more than happy to help.

@sydneyblued.. Ung magiging hours of work nyo ba both ay regular hour na 8am-5pm or 8am-4pm? If ganun, ang pwde mong gawin ay hanap po kau ng maging frnd m or make a circle of frnds agad sa lugar nyo na kung saan, pwde mong sunduin ung anak m after class at iwan lg sa frnd muna at sunduin na lg after work. I know it's not a really good idea but sorry un lg ang naiisip q eh..
