Baka makulitan na si @LokiJr, (hehe). Maybe I can change title @admin? For the benefit of the others who are interested or just as lost as I am? 8-|. Or new thread maybe? Kayo na po bahala.
@LOkiJr: Sir yes sir! I will take your advice to heart. Itatanong ko talaga yan. Gusto ko yang minimum to no contribution ah! That's really GREAT news na guaranteed ang employer contribution, at tataas pa kamo? I didn't even know that!
May nakasulat din na Corporate Superannuation Fund (to which I would put my super into), whatever that means. But the Au government is fair naman po, right? I feel their transparency naman in terms of work hours, work pay, etc.
thanks! thanks! very informative.

I'm glad you said that! So I'm just gonna go right on and ask away! Pasensya na...
- What's the tax rate for 457 like me po?
- Nag-ma-matter ba sa Oz kung may dependents (like mas mataas ba if wala ako dependents)?
- iba po ba tax rates for resident vs not?
- based on income bracket po ba dyan? dito papasok ang salary sacrifice, ano po? Para lesser tax?
- tsaka, eto particularly for medical people, is overtime taxed differently?
Alam ko andami, pero last na po to promise! L-) Thanks in advance sa mga sasagot!

1. It does not matter what type of visa you get...yung tax rate mo depende sa income level mo.
2. May mga tax offsets para sa dependents pero mabuti kung problemahin mo yan sa una niyong Income Tax Return sa Australia. We advise first time migrants to seek a certified Australian tax accountant to determine your eligibility
3. Alam ko ang 457 visa kasama siya sa tax table ng ordinaryong resident sa Australia
4. Yes, yes and yes...Saka niyo na isipin si salary sacrifice, medyo masakit sa ulo yan hehe
5. That depends on your arrangement with your employer there kung may OT pay kayo. Sa field ko (Finance) wala kaming ganyan

Good Morning. Just want to check for insights kung possible po ba. Family of 5, kids ages 15, 9 and 7. Im thinking student visa pero alam ko mahirap ang setup. Ayaw ko kasi mahiwalay sa family as much as possible. I have a relative in Rockhampton na willing tumulong sakin. Appreciate any feedback.

If you will live in Rockhampton, Rockhampton is quite far from Brisbane, as it is a regional area to the north (mga 8 hours drive from Brisbane). Generally cost of living in regional area would be cheaper than big cities, and usually rent ang pinakamalaking expense. If you will live in Brisbane, expect to pay more for rent, especially if you will live close to CBD.
For a family of 5, you'd probably be looking at a 2 or 3-bedroom apartment/house, but there's not a lot of that near the CBD. You can look at realestate.com.au to check weekly rent for specific house sizes. Other expenses will depend on your lifestyle (kung madalas kayo magshopping or gumala sa weekends), at kung kukuha kayo ng car. Regional areas tend to have limited public transport options, so you may have to consider getting a car, especially if there's no direct bus/train from your house to your place of work.
