Hi guys!..need some help…ask ko lang kung pede bang i-nominate ng brother ko ang Accountant (General) with his current line of work as AP / AR Analyst?..He’s a graduate of Accountancy from category 2 school, non-CPA..which assessing body would you recommend (IPA, CPA,ICAA)?...thanks all!
Let your brother assess whether his line of work is more or less the same as that of an Accountant (General) as per ANZSCO definition:

My wife did CPAA and we dread failing in the Accounting Theory subject but thankfully wala naman naging problema. They say mas lenient ang IPA and ICAA but I will not touch on that as I have no knowledge over it. :)

@Brian83 hi! for accountants, required po na maassess ng accounting body regardless if state sponsored or independent. with the new rules implemented, required po ang ielts acad (7 in all) unless you had your assessment before the implementation of new rules.
Cos i am CPA but i'll have Vetassess to assess my education and employment dahil vet ang assessing body ng would be nominated occupation ko (internal auditor). Is it a general rule for Accountants especially with regards to IELTS? Or you're only referring to those practising accountants?

    Thanks.

Check mo what is the requirements of VETASSESS...

CPAA, ICA and IPAA - these agencies requires an acad IELTS of 7 in all subjects.

VETASSESS for Internal Auditor MAY have a different requirement.

@psychoboy, my purpose is only to clear that it depends sa nominated occupation and the corresponding assessment body of our fellow accountants (i.e. IA-vetassess). Quoted from stonehenge that for accountants required na maassess ng accounting body at kelangan acad ielts ang kukunin.

I hope i have a point regarding this. ^__^

So It depends on the assessing body nga po. Vetassess doesn't require any ielts to process skills and educational qualification. You'd only need ielts when you lodge an application to diac which is pwede na ang gt module for immigration purposes.

    I hope i am right. :)
There you go!! VETASSESS won't need any IELTS pala... :)

Yes, it depends on who will do your skills assessment.

    hello there,

They will assess if your employment is related to your nominated occupation which in our case is "Accountant"

Sa akin kasi nag pa assess ako ng both skills and employment ko para alam ko kung ilang points ang iki claim ko sa aking work experience. ayaw ko kasi n mag over ako sa pag claim ng points that in the end hindi ko rin kaya mapatunayan or mapanindigan. So just to make sure i decided to avail of the combo assessment ng ICAA.

i was able to claim ung minimun lang sa work experience ko. kasi ang tinanggap nila ay ung work experience ko dyan sa pinas. ung dito sa abroad, they did not consider it kasi hindi specifically "accountant" ung aking job title. although kung base s responsibility at duties ay accountant naman ang aking position.

i was able to claim ung minimun lang sa work experience ko. kasi ang tinanggap nila ay ung work experience ko dyan sa pinas. ung dito sa abroad, they did not consider it kasi hindi specifically "accountant" ung aking job title. although kung base s responsibility at duties ay accountant naman ang aking position.
@wynx, so specific and strict talaga sila about sa job title ano? Tsk!

I can speak for CPA Australia; di naman sila strict sa job title AS LONG AS yung mga detailed roles and responsibilities mo are in line with how ANZSCO define it. Case in point, si wife applied for accountant general - 5yrs of experience in a job title as external auditor was accepted.

    hope this helps!

@psychoboy kasi naman po External Auditor is under group Accountants po and the same skill set sya so pasok sya sa "closely related" occupation kya po kayo hindi nagkaproblema. But if ang job title mo ay admin/accounts executive kahit na scope mo ay pang accountant it matters i think kasi wala naman sa group ang admin/accounts executive.

@cylin - with all due respect, I don't agree with your comments above. for me it does not make sense that they will specifically not credit you with work experience for the sole reason that you job title does not specify as accountant.

again, i think as long as your detailed roles and responsibilities matches or is closely related to how ANZSCO definite it, you should be okey...

I could be wrong but logically, more importance should be placed on the itemized list of roles and responsibilities rather than your job title diba?

    just my 2 cents... :)

siguro para mas sure kung ayos lang sau ay magpa assess k n lang ng both your skills and work experiences sa ICAA. In that case kasi, malalaman kung ilan talga ang points na pwede mo i claim pagdating sa bagay na ito. :) Gaya ko ayoko magkamali kung ilan talga ang dapat ko i claim sa aking work experience so i just opted to avail ung combo assessment ng ICAA in order to play safe na lang.

@wynx - I agree with you on this one. The best person who can be able to determine whether your work experience is relevant or not are the people who have the expertise on your nominated occupation. For your case, it is ICAA, IPA or CPA Australia.

Yup, i was able to ask Ms @vangievc if willing pa rin nila ako patuluyin temporarily sa house nila, i moved kasi ung punta ko dun. I originally plan to have my initial entry sa March 20-25, but then because of a little complication sa sched, i changed it to April 13-19 instead.

Maybe we could meet up sa Melby pag pumunta ako? what do you think?

@wynx, yes...i'll probably avail the points test advice with Vetassess coz I am not very confident on how the skills asssessment would turn out (ex. Sept 2007-Aug 2010 they might not consider it as 3years, Accounts admin - not the same as accountant skills...etc.). Whatever it is i'm going to try my luck or else wait for the right time. :-)

I'm aware that it is below 5yrs, just wanna know from when to when (month/year). Thanks.

On the other note, nakakadrain at stress din talaga ang pagaaply ng job nowadays.
