Natapos ko rin mabasa from page 1 to 31 hehehe.

This is the topics for accounting theory:

    http://www.cpaaustralia.com.au/cpa-program/foundation-level/structure/accounting-concepts-and-principles

Sa case ng wife ko, walang 1 subject that satisfies the content of the above link...
TasBurrfoot, salamat sa link na binigay mo. Kung isatisfy ko rin ang accounting theory with the link that you gave to me eh nasakop sya sa Financial Accounting Part 1 and 2. Ipapakita ko na lang sa gagawin kung summary course outline in excel spreadsheet (column A- 12 core criteria and column B - yong corresponding course title from syllabus).

Hi @mr_singapore2009, my wife was denied of her accounting theory last year. what she did is to submit an appeal outlining all accounting theory related topics sa ibang syllabi nya. detailed ung gnawa nya. and she also emphasized na it is part of the CPA board exams in the Phils. After few weeks, the assessor replied with an apology and gave her positive assessment. Sinuwerte sa second assessor.

with your ielts, take lng ng take. i was able to make it on my nth try bec of writing. ang alam ko, nde pwede ung ielts na below 7 kasi that is one of the minimum requirements.

hello po @renee... sa na-experiece ko po sa ielts, consistent naman pong matataas ang listening, writing and reading ko...nakaka-9.0 pa nga po ako and hindi bababa ng 7.5...yung naging problema ko naman is yung speaking...since subjective mag-grade sa speaking and writing, nagduda tuloy ako...so, the last time na nakakuha ako ng 6.5 sa speaking, nagpa-reassess ako. You can do this within 2 weeks (not sure) from the date of release of your results plus mga P5,000 ata na payment...(please check nalang sa website about re-assessing of scores)...do this po kung kampante kayo na mataas dapat ang nakuha mong score...it won't hurt naman..pera lang...plus, kung na-reassess ka at nagbago ang score mo, refunded naman sayo ang ibinayad mong P5,000. In my case, dumagdag nga ang score ko from 6.5 to 7.5...o diba?...duda kse ako may inconsistencies sila sa subjective scoring nila eh...hope this helps ;)

hi @kl_337...accountant din ako dito sa pinas and just finished taking my medicals as instructed by my CO...
ang sa akin naman, I had my profession assessed first by CPA Australia...after ng assessment, I took the IELTS exam next...general ang kinuha ko..it won't matter kung IDP or British Council...and may cut-off kse akong 7.0 in EACH category (take note, EACH at HINDI TOTAL BAND SCORE) kse po i opt for the VISA 190 which is the State Sponsorship...I went for New South Wales Sponsorship and may cut off sila for accountants na 7.0 in ALL categories that is why I took the IELTS mga 4 times ata and appealed for the last time (kse objective sila and inconsistent sa writing and speaking)...kapag may nag-sponsor kseng state sayo, may additional kang 5 points...although sa VISA 189 ata is REGIONAL sponsored and that is 10 points additional...eh ang need ko lang naman to get a 60 passing point is 5 nalang kaya State Sponsorship ako...then yun...after IELTS, nag-apply ng State Sponsorship...then lodged EOI...then the rest is...eto na... :D

I hope i helped in a way sa steps to take...GOD bless =D>
    _______

Naconfused ako. For state sponsorship, ano po ba talaga need General or Academics IELTS
Check mo sa state on what is their requirement, I think it varies...

HOWEVER, for accountants (in their skills assessment), ang kailangan dito is Academic; having said this, since mahal ang IELTS usually isa lang ang ginagamit na results for state sponsorship purpose and/or skills assessments.

If you ask a computer related skill migrant who opted for state sponsorship, ang sasabihin cguro nila na general IELTS ang kinuha nila.

    hope this helps!
TasBurrfoot nakita ko na po na magkaiba sa bawat state sponsorship ang requirement nila about sa ielts. Yung iba general at iba academics ielts at iba lower band score required.

Ano po required, Academics or General IELTS?

Hi everyone. I am new here in the forum. Have read some of the posts. But still very confused with a lot of requirements.

Can anyone please walk me through the process. I will be taking IELTS this December 2013. Then I will apply for skill assessment sa ICAA or CPAA or whichever is body is lenient.
Also, where can I obtain the syllabus that needs to be submitted for assessment? Di ba pedeng ung TOR nalang.

    Thank you for response guys.

Step we took in order to secure the 189 as an Accountant General:

    1) IELTS
    2) Securing of docs required for skills assessment
    3) Skill assessment c/o CPA Australia
    4) Lodging of Expression of Intent (EOI)
    5) Lodge a visa application once you are invited to apply
    6) Medicals
    7) Police Clearance

Syllabus can be secured from the accountancy department of your school; this is basically a very well detailed outline of a course that you have taken. TOR? I don't think pwede po ito Sir, course title lang and grade ang nakalagay sa TOR eh and it basically do not give a full picture of what was discussed in that particular course.

    Hope this helps @calebseth77

    Kumusta mga accountants?

I am planning to take CPAA soon (kailangan to be competitive eh...) - minor issue will be that I did not have an accounting degree when I graduated in college; so I may have to take some foundation level courses before I can proceed with the professional level exams.

Anyone you know who has taken a similar path to what I am planning?

Hi Everyone! New member here and a Permanent Residency Aspirant. Share ko lang yung current situation ko:

    CPA Year 2000
12 years total working experience. 7 years as an Accounting Staff and Supervisor, and 5 years as a Finance Manager.
No IELTS yet, just signing up this week with a review center.
Documents on hand are: Diploma, Transcript of Records, Board of Accountancy Certificate, Examination Rating from PRC. COE's are pending.

    My Questions are:

    1. With my experience, what is the most suitable ANZSCO for me?
    2. Required ba talaga yung syllabus?
    3. I don't have the PICPA Certificate which was given during the oath taking and my license is currently expired, do I need to bother acquiring both?
    4. Academic awards ba nung undergrad are important also?
    5. My sister is also interested in applying. She has 10years experience as an external auditor with SGV and now Moore Stephens in singapore.

    Thank you!

Di naman but in my field kasi (financial services), may accounting overlap parati... So might as well take a look at this possibility.

Yes @vhoythoy, CFA is actually one of the things na tinitingnan ko apart from CPA... :)

@ Tasburrfoot I see. Parehas pala tau. Well I took 4 foundation levels and got an equivalent bachelors assessment from cpaa though im not really a cpa graduate. In my review kasi parang ibang theoretical framework ginagamit sa cfa vs ias or gaap ng australia. US based kasi cfa. Well there's no harm in trying. If ever, I wanted to try sana a 1- yr conversion course in accounting sa aus.

So I take it na you are done with your 4 foundation levels? And you are working on your professional levels na?

How long did it take you to complete the 4 exams? Mahirap ba? Ahahaha...

@TasBurrfoot hi there sir. May I ask magshift ka ng career?
Di naman but in my field kasi (financial services), may accounting overlap parati... So might as well take a look at this possibility.

Yes @vhoythoy, CFA is actually one of the things na tinitingnan ko apart from CPA... :)
Yep medyo related sya though specialised talaga financial services. I have one client before dito sa sg, isang asset management services company and nalula ako sa sweldo ng portfolio manager 40k sgd a month, nagkamali yta ako ng profession hahaha.

Anyways, regarding CFA balak ko sya kuhanin last year but pinagiisipan ko pa mabuti until now since di ko forte finance tlaga. Based sa research ko mas mahirap pa sya kesa sa cpa exams and matagal matapos and magastos, plus the specific exp requirements para magamit designation.

@TasBurrfoot will apply for visa muna hehe. Still in the phils. So far mas mahirap ung review sections sa review materials vs actual exams. Ung foundation principles kaya reviewhin in 1 wk. ung mga major subjects nag allot ako ng tig 3 weeks.

    Anak ng tinapa, 40K??!!!!! Ahahahaha....

@vhoythoy, CFA is cheaper ng CPA Australia as 3 levels lang naman... However, super hirap talaga ito based on feedback sa friends.

And yes, experience wise lang may geared towards accounting yung past work experience ko... Both CFA and CPA needs work experience before you can be admitted for full membership.

Time to chart this, pros and cons... I need to decide soon! :)

Major econ ako eh. Ang important naman andun ung interest. Kaya mo yan sir. Dami din ako natutunan sa foundation levels. :)

@tasburrfoot, yes and bonus is even much bigger. Sa pinas din i know konti lang mga CFA's as compared to CpA's and usually they earning a lot. Also, parang may exclusive society sila or something thats why parang na persuade ako i try but medyo di pa kaya ng budget and wala pang time. Part 1 daw is madali but part 2 and 3 are much harder. Nag basa ako sa ng analyst forum and by looking at syllabus mahirap nga. Passing rate also is generally below 50%.

Another interesting field is trading (traders) pero i think may mga tao lang na babagayan ng work na yun as its more like gambling and strategy.

    Goodluck sa CPA journey
