1. Maaafford ko po ba expenses ko if sa university ako pumasok especially the tuition fee? Given that I will be allowed to work for 20hrs per week lang? I have a relative there in Sydney so I will assume na malilibre po ako sa bahay and konting pagkain.
–- Depends as to what kind of work ang makukuha mo pagdating dito, but given na student visa medyo mahirap (but not impossible) makahanap ng work with a descent amount of salary (na kaya bayaran ang tuition sa Uni by working 20 hours/week). When i started my student visa application, I based my computation sa minimum wage per hour which was around $16 (I think medyo tumaas na ngayon ang minimum). Hence, Malabo na makabayad ako ng tuition fee ng uni kaya I pursued magenrol sa private college na lang (ang concern ko na lang nung time yun eh atleast magkaron ng degree sa Au, makabayad ng tuition at everyday expenses).
2. Malaki po ba difference sa mga future employers kung sa University or college/ institutions ka graduate? kahit same lang pong Masters degree yung natapos?
--Based from my experience? not really, it would still depend sa skillset and experience (especially local experience) mo. I worked as a part-time bookkeeper when I was still studying and yun ang ginamit ko na starting ground sa pagapply ng job after I graduated. Luckily, I got hired in a good Company (not as huge as any of the BIG FOUR but I can say na im very happy as to where I am working right now). My previous classmate (same private institution) and workmate (same part time bookkeeping job), he’s now working in one of the top accounting firms in Sydney.
3. Meron na po ba dito na-grant ng PR thru the use of their masteral degree?
--I got my PR by studying Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (I had a degree in Commerce prior to studying in Au).
4. Namomonitor po ba nila mabuti yung 20hrs na work per week lang? or pwede naman po makapuslit ng konting time pa sa ibang part-time jobs?
-- I heard a story before na nagrandom check ang ATO sa working hours ng isang student visa who was applying a PR then they found out na that person was working more than the allowed working hours during the duration of hi student visa. They rejected yung PR application nya and I assume umuwi na lang siya ng Pinas after. I am not really kung totoo yung story but its better to be safe especially ang laki laki ng ginastos/gagastusin mo to study here tapos baka mapunta sa wala pag nagkataon na marandom check.
**Important thing to take note lang, if your intention is applying for PR after graduating, you need to consider yung possibility maalis sa Skilled Occupation list yung accounting related occupation in the future. Right now, nasa list pa din ang Accountant but I think medyo mataas ang points na kailangan para mainvite for PR (189 and 190 visa). I suggest na back read dito sa forum about accountants applying for PR para makakuha ka ng more info kung ano ba ang requirements/qualifications na kailangan para makapa apply ng PR (baka naman pwede tapusin mo na lang yun accounting course mo sa pinas di ba??) and be open sa possibility na immigration rules/requirements can change from time to time. I am not discouraging you to study in Au ha… its more of sharing yung experiences/dilemmas ko during my Student to PR journey. Hope this helps and all the best.

My appeal for previous employment came negative. CPAA reasoned that it was not considered because I was not a CPA Ph at the time. I came from section 3 school. Worked for 3-4 yrs before taking the exam. The only work experience they gave with positive assessment was on my current job in full and permanent position. The probationary period which indicated "temporary personnel" in my COE was not also considered even though I have the CPA Ph license at the time.
So in my case, if I may say, Accountancy Graduates from Section 3 Schools would not have positive assessment both in education and experience unless you take and pass the board exam here in Ph. I don't know if anybody here had the same experience or different from mine.
No choice but to take the PTE-A again with at least 79 in all components to earn additional 10pts.

I took the IELTS exam a week ago and results are on their way... Now, I'm in the process of completing the required docs. However, I encounter this confusion : I am currently employed and at the same time I have a full-time remote job (Finance Mgr and Financial Accountant Asst, respectively). Corporate-wise, I did job hop a lot of times but I was able to keep my remote job for almost 6 years now. My question is, would you advise me to have my skills assessed based on the broken experiences I have from corporate (ie: 17 mths +10mths + 15mths +18 mths and counting) or based on my work from home job of solid 60 months and counting??
I would really appreciate all your thoughts on this, so please throw them on my way.. to help me decide on things, thanks heaps!
CPAA Application Received: 17 Jan 2018
Assessment Date: 7 Feb 2018 (Academically suitable)

I'm a newbie here. I would like to ask for some help/clarification for the requirements for CPAA assessment.
I am a graduate of BS Accountancy from PUP Manila in 2004 and would like to ask the good people here on how they requested for a copy of their syllabus. Also, do i need to request for all subjects in my TOR or is there a summary of the required subjects that needs a syllabus (to save on cost as it seems like they charge a fixed rate per subject)?
How long did it take to receive the TOR? Is this requested from the University Registrar or from the College of Accountancy? Do I need to provide an authorization letter to request and claim or are they strict on claiming with an SPA only?
I read somewhere in here that there is a subject mapping and a subject description included in the documents provided for assessment, where can i get a sample for this? Appreciate if anyone can provide me a copy of their subject mapping and subject description.
Thanks!
