@jepoy527 You and your wife will find one, as long as you are determined. It doesn't matter if the economy is good or bad, odd-jobs will be available, just keep in mind to have the right attitude and PRAY. Also in addition make sure that you are situated in a busy suburb like what I said in my previous post. The Lord doesn't mind the economy, trust Him.

I am working now sa 1 hospital. Cleaner. Odd job cgro sya kc more or less 20 hrs a week lng ang bnbgay skn. Ung sahod ko eh mas maliit lng ng like 3 dollars per hour kesa sa sahod ng partner ko whose working full time 40 hrs per week as nurse. Sa ospital kc standard sila sa pay, may pinagbasehan.

Actually, mas malaki ng 250% ang sahod ko ngaun kesa sa sahod ng manager ko sa pinas sa engineering dept.

Gustuhin ko man kumuha pa ng 1 job, i think oks na ung kita ko now, gustuhin ko man o hindi makakaipon tlga ako kasama ng sahod ng partner ko combined.

Un lng ung pride natin syempre. Im working as cleaner. At casual role lng anytime pwede ako hindi na pagtrabahuin.

Apakababa ng cost of living d2. Or should I say, mataas ang cost of living d2 Pero ang purchasing power ng 1aud eh malakas din. Thats y kht odd job lng d2, kya nang lumaban everyday.

Sa ngaun, kht hirap pdn aq magenglish, gusto nmn ng boss ko d2 ang trabaho ko. At willing sya to giv me more shifts kht pa magreklamo ung iba kong workmate. Sb nya sya n daw bhla sknla kung mgsb man cla ng msma akn.

Importante kht odd job pa yan o professional job mo, ibgay mo pdn full heart mo sa trabaho. Dahil hnd tlga biro ang laki ng kita d2.

Hello Guys,

I am also a testament of how difficult it is to find job here in AU. I and my wife are both IT professionals (Technical Support Engineers), so before we moved here, we have decided that she will look for odd-jobs first while I will focus on finding an IT one. Medyo limited lang din po kasi yung baon naming pera. We have to rent right of the bat ng isang room on a flat-sharing, dahil hindi po kami ma-aaccomodate ng pinsan ko dahil sa liit ng inuupahan nilang house.

I chose a place that is busy and maraming establishments like malls and markets. So si misis nagwalk-in sa lahat ng grocery store asking if they need additional staff and sabay bigay ng cv (customized for odd-jobs). She did all of the walk-ins while also busy in gumtree calling all possible odd-job employers. I think kung odd-job yung target sa gumtree, its better to submit the cv asap and CALL the number of the employer right away, dahil marami po kasing nagpapasa ng cv thru e-mail and minsan hindi na po talaga napapansin, unless kayo po yung nauna. Thank God at saktong first week namin may tumanggap agad na fruit grocery sa kanya sa loob ng westfield mall. Then after that may kumuha din sa kanyang Filipino restaurant as a part-time waitress, then meron then po syang once a week 8 hr job as a sandwich assistant sa isang weekly food stall malapit sa amin (take note lahat po ng part-time job niya ay all walking distance para tipid po sa pamasahe).

Before we go here, I e-mailed my boss who is our client about my plans of moving to Sydney and if ever there is a chance, I am still willing to work for them (meron kasi silang branch dito). So technically, in my case po, meron po talaga akong hinihintay na job from our previous client. However umabot na po ng almost 6 months waiting (combined both in PH and AU) and wala po ako talgang assurance from them. On my part I kept on adjusting my CV and Cover letter, answering phone interviews and karamihan po talaga is from agency or recruiters. I finally got one interview from Commvault as storage engineer, however hindi po ako pumasa sa technical interview. Another company (Storagecraft) scheduled me for interview as storage specialist this coming Tuesday. On the day na tinawagan ako ng agency about the Commvault result, nag-email na sakin yung previous client ko back in PH about the job offer. We are really thankful to the Lord because without His mercy and grace we could have ended as loosers.

Pasensya na po kung medyo mahaba yung kewnto ko, but this is the only way I know how I can repay this forum for the all help and information I got from it.

@bonjagerns thank you so much for sharing your story po. After I read this, I called the attention of my wife, binasa na din niya ito. na-inspire din siya. thanks again.

2 weeks na kami dito sa melbourne yesterday. i received some calls from I think recruiters pero until now wala pa ulit tawag kung may schedule na ng interview. nag exam ako last week pero mukhang failed first exam ko, haha wala pa din call from that employer.
ini-mail ko yung HR ng same company ko sa SG at pinapapunta ako ng resource manager nils to discuss possible roles. sana hire nalang nila ako!

nagstrustruggle din kasi kami for work ditto sa mandurah area. kahit anong klaseng odd jobs inaapplyan na naming para may pambayad ng bills pero wala pa din. positive naman kami na magkakaron din, wait and pray lang.

@IslanderndCity Yes, very challenging po ang job hunting dito lalo na sa Adelaide. Kung 1 month ka lang dito that would be good at least you get to know the place. If you are coming from SG talagang maninibago ka dito. So, be prepared in all aspects.
