By the way, is anyone planning to take CA Australia? I have sent an o'seas assessment sa ICAA few months ago. And as expected i need to take the Australian Tax and Business Law sa Australian University before i can proceed with the exams. The other units required were exempted. I'm just curious about the procedures in applying in University, time frame in completing the units/ courses and the cost. They gave me choices whether to take the conversion programs or take only the 2 required units. They also mentioned that they will keep my file for 2 years. Wala pa akong nahahanap na pinoy pwedeng mapagtanungan sa ngaun.

Mga Feb-March na ako next year. Kahit magisa muna ako. Mas makakatipid at mas flexible. Importante muna sa ngaun eh maka entry kami with family kasi sayang baka ma void ang visa =)

@shye428 try mapping all your subjects in this excel file. I'm sure more than 1 yung pwede mag fall in that category (like accounting-related computer subjects). :) regarding experience, make sure naka latag sa Certificate of Employment mo yung responsibilities mo (pati sahod, kasi nadali ako jan sa unang assessment). If accounting in nature naman yung ginagawa mo sa government, then you need not worry. God bless. :D

Hi Everyone! First post in this thread :)

I've been backreading but I haven't seen anyone with a case like mine. I plan to study Masters of Professional Accounting in AU next year, but my undergrad degree here in Phils was non-accounting. Once I finish my Masters after 2 years, will I be eligible to apply under Accountant (General)? Or should I take an undergrad degree in AU to be eligible instead? Thanks in advance!

as long as you can fulfill the subjects where the accounting bodies based their criteria on skilled migration asssessment, you should be okey...

BUT the most important thing that you need to ask is, where will you get the points you will be needing to merit an invite to apply for a visa? consider this first before you make any investment in time and money.

    all the best!

@TasBurrfoot hi tas thanks for responding to my query :)

yes i know this is a very big risk on my part. there is no assurance that i can apply for a pr visa even after studying in AU.

here's the course list of the masters course i found in AU:

    Accounting Principles
    Cost and Management Accounting
    Corporate Accounting
    Auditing Corporate Entities
    Accounting Theory
    Computer-based Accounting Systems
    Business Communications
    Economics Statistics
    Aspects of Corporate Finance
Commercial and Corporate Law for Managers
    Australian Tax Law
    Organisational Behaviour

been looking at the points and would i be eligible? here's my computation (and assumptions):

    age - 25
    english language - 10
qualifications - 15 (masters degree in acctg)
    au study reqt - 5
    study in a regional area - 5
    total - 60

note that i do not have a bachelors degree in accounting but the masters courses they offer in AU accept applicants with non-accounting backgrounds

60 is acceptable score for now...

However another thing you should consider is that by the time our masters is finished; what will be the status of accountants in terms of getting visa as skilled migrant.

Not to discourage you but as this will be a very big investment, make sure you have thought about this over and over again... :)
