    @IslanderndCity my husband was hired a few days after his arrival. he arrived on sat., applied on mon., interviewed on tues. and was offered the job on wed. sinwerte talaga, sabi nga ng mga kilala namin sobrang galing and swerte daw kasi most of them found a job atleast 3 months from their arrival.

    Hi Everyone, just want to tell my story and hingi na din ng advice sa mga naka-experience na ng tulad sakin. I arrived here in Melbourne on June 29 this year. My nominated skill is Accountant-External Auditor. Started to submit job applications after 5 days and so far, only 1 company showed interest in me. I've gone to an initial phone interview and got a call afterwards that they want to pursue my application so they scheduled me for a face to face panel interview this coming Friday (hoping na sana eto na yon! Hehe). But this is only for a 3-month contract from a big-4 accounting firm pero I don't mind it anymore since I take this as a big opportunity to gain local experience. I am on the process of preparing for the interview and any tips that you can give me to hurdle this will be highly appreciated. I want to know what are the usual behavioral and technical questions they might ask on me. I hope there are some who shared the same experience here.

    God bless po sa sting lahat. Though I shared the pain of not having a job so far, I still believe that God is just preparing this job for me and he will give it in His time. Patuloy lang tayong maniwala mga Kababayan and don't ever lose our faith in Him. Beacause if we believe in God, nothing is impossible.

    In demand talaga mga web developer dito. I'm a web developer too pero unlike your husband, it took me a month before I got my current job here kasi medyo naging mapili ako. I turned down one offer a few weeks nung dumating ako dito. Medyo mababa kasi offer. Naging malakas loob ko i turn down kasi halos every other day may interview ako for web developer position.

    So sa mga web developer dyan, sa tingin ko malaking chance na makahanap kayo ng work dito.

    ako naman .net developer for 7 years, madami din hiring pero hindi muna ako mag wo-work kasi maliit pa masyado baby namin. sana lang by the time mag decide na kami na bumalik ako sa field eh tanggapin pa ako. hahahaha

    @RyanJay ah ok. So dapat pala makapag aral din ng PHP. I develop naman enterprise apps using java and other frameworks. Full stack rin from front end to back end. Mataas daw competition dyan pero ang tanong madami kaya ang hiring haha. Thanks sa inputs...

    @czha !! natanggap aku dun sa small accounting firm, ngaun ngaun lang... yun nga lang ang layo, frankston ako, northcote ung lugar.. pero rewarding kc ang bait nung employer, pero subcontractor aku kc abn hiningi sakin, ok na din kesa wala, bait naman nya eh, para ka lang nasa paaralan pag nagshashare xa ng kaalaman.

    pangdagdag experience din sa resume. nga pla mga dre, ung resume ni boss rod, malakas datingan.. binago ko lang na pang accounting, pero ung format swak eh.. puso lang meron din yan sa kabilang pc na makakarelate sa resume natin.
