All I can say is realistically, it is still a "it's not what you know but who you know" kind of industry and culture. I am grateful for that dude who put me in that position. They repealed the carbon tax already so probably employment will hopefully boom again in the next few months. For now, we are still on the downside and all we can do is hope for the best.
Some tips for those planning to go here. Magbaon ng maraming bala especially if you are migrating with your family or better yet, come here alone first and get your family if you land a job. There's nothing wrong with being realistic, better to be ready for the worst and plan your every move. Planning beats being positive. You can be positive in every way but if the odds are against you, a strategic plan is still the best way to cope up.
Lastly, pray. God works mysteriously. Just ask for guidance and how to proceed. Sometimes a clear mind will give you great ideas on what your next move is.
