@motherof2 ...check this link at makita mo dyan ang mga points na magain mo for example if mag study ka in a regional area you will gain 5 migration points.....on the other hand try to consider the job opportunities in whatever regional area that you will choose...baka mahihirapan ka maghanap ng work....at the end it all boils down to your own personal decision.....just showing here that you will get 5 migration points if mag study ka sa regional area....here is the link:

@motherof2 ....the link which i just shared is the point test for everyone...hindi siya limited sa mga accountant lang...that's for everybody...so if makakuha ka ng 60 points basing on that point test, then you are qualified to apply for permanent residency in australia...

@jie1234 ...you need to check first if embassy people (COs) report to office during saturdays there in pinas) but just to be sure, better have with you your phone so as not to miss any call. we missed ours when we went to simala in cebu however the agency also called us to inform us that our PVA came out already.....good luck though

Hello everyone, I'm a newbie here. Been reading the forums for the past couple of weeks and trying to decide whether applying for a student visa is good for my wife and I. Been thinking of applying to get a bachelors degree in accounting, but upon reading other AU forums, most (from AU citizens) are saying that the job prospects are very bad due to a huge supply of accounting graduates. A lot are having difficulty getting a job after graduating. Have a couple of questions and I hope you guys can help out.

    1) For those already in AU, is it true that it is hard to find an accounting job?
    2) While studying, is it hard to find a part-time job?
    3) Can you pay your tuition fees (bachelors degree) with the money you make from a part-time job and live decently?

Thanks in advance and goodluck to all those currently applying for a visa! :)

@attila ......yes i would agree with you that indeed it is difficult to find a place in the accounting world here.....i have to be realistic with you though....however it all depends on one's luck also since one of our friends who have just finished with her Professional Year as well as her internship (3 months) as part of that program luckily was absorbed by her internship company and she is now a full time employee of that hist company....i would say that difficulty in finding a job is true not just to those accountants but to others also...so at the end it all boils down to your own interest and field of study plus working experience there in pinas..... on finding a part time job, my answer is inconclusive since it differs from one person to the other....however if you are patient enough and not that choosy when it comes to work opportunities (pwede mong magtrabaho ng kahit ano kahit na dishwasher, cleaner etc) then with proper support system coupled with luck, you can find one....on your third query, yes i can pay the tf of my wife through my work plus she also has her own part time work....she is taking masters so i am unlimited when it comes to work rights therefore i have more time to work comparing to those part timers.....good luck bro...

@danyan2001us Hi Dan thanks for taking the time to respond to my query :) Still torn between choosing to stay here in Manila, where I have a good job or taking a risk and going there to raise a family. There are rumors that they might remove accounting from the SOL soon, so it would be a waste if while I'm studying accounting there, they suddenly remove it @-)

@attila ...sa tingin ko hindi nila tatanggalin ang accountant sa SOL dahil ang accounting ay isa sa napakarami na students dito at ang international students ay 11% sa revenue nila .....two years ago pa yan sinasabi nila na tatanggalinnila ang accountant but until now andyan pa rin....on the other hand, yong body na nag evaluate sa accountant at iba na occupations ang tinanggal nila.....
