Submitted mine last April 4, 2014 through 189 at 60 pts. ACS said my course BS Computer Engineering (section 1 school) is not relevant sa 261111 kaya 4 years binawas sa experience ko. I am now 6 months short to 5 years bracket.

@cgm That is odd. I am also a Computer Engineering graduate on a section 2 school pero ACS credited my course as closely related sa occupation. Although instead of bachelors, diploma lang ang equivalent so I was only able to claim 10 points sa education. Meron ba silang sinabi why they deemed hindi sya related? Malaking kabawasan din ang 4 years of experience.

@rara_avis My school is section 1 and equivalent to AQF as Bachelor's Degree. Yung sa work experience ko naman, walang questions pero sinabi lang na hindi daw related yung course ko sa occupation. Sinubukan ko mag-email sa kanila pero sabi daw tama yung assessment. Tempting na mag-revalidate pero wait na ang siguro ako. Anyway, 60 points naman sa 189 and naka-SS din sa VIC. Anyway, in about 6 months time, magiging 5 years na rin yung qualified work experience ko. Pero sayang din yung bawas na 2 years.

Updates

Prior April 28th 2014, there were 108 slots left for 2611 ICT Business & Systems Analysts.
As of last night, there are 93 slots remaining.
So, only 15 invites were issued last Apr 28th for our occupation.

I think these 93 slots will be allocated for the next 4 invites (May and June) before the July 1st reset. However, they seemed to be inviting 70 pointers for now with the last person invited was an EOI submitted last April 25, 2014 @ 70pts.

Also, backlogs for the 6 high number EOI codes have been almost filled with recent invites issued for 60 pointers who submitted their EOI last March 2014.

189 Visa slots for May will be the second highest compared within the last 12 months

@cgm Hello, when you say slots left for business analyst, when ang start and end date nun? And usually, how many months nila finifill iin yung number of slots na yun? It seems like for business analysts, madaming nag apply. Currently, we are still gathering documents for ACS assessment so I'm very interested re the slots open per job description. Thanks.

you can only submit EOI for your nominated occupation..
if you think you also qualify for other occupations, you should have separate assessment for those occupations..

No you can’t submit an EOI for business analyst kung wala kang assessment from ACS as you will later on be required to provide documents (positive assessment) once you get invited.

You can apply for another skills assessment but u have to be cautious na indi sia magcontradict sa previously submitted assessment since same assessing body yung incharge sa application mo. Otherwise baka magka integrity issues ka with the case officer. By the way, ganu na ba katagal ung unang assessment mo as ICT project Manager? And for what reason bakt mo gusto magpaassess as ICT Business Analyst. May mga states namn na open for sponsorship ang Project Manager ah.

@Ajsam i have both ict ba and ict project manager assessment kasi my documents and work responsibilities were broad enough to cover both. i did the ict ba first then after 3 months applied for network engineer pero acs suggested ict project manager. hope thos helps.

submit an eoi if you have a positive acs assessment kasi may cause you big issues later.

ilang points po claim nio? wala pa kasi ko kilala nakaEOI as of yet e. Yung July 14 kasi 65 points pa invite nila for Buss. & Systems Analyst.

@Xiaomau82 60 points lang... I just visited skill select website and yung 28 July 2014 result ang visa date of effect cutf of for ICT business analyst is (60 points 2/09/2013 5:50pm). Not sure bakit 2013, eh the last time they sent out invites for 60 points was on May 26 with visa date of effect cut off 03/04/2014 4.44pm. Bigla nag backwards sila.. not sure if typo error lang....

naku di ko sure kung mali lang ung date. malalamn natin yan pag nag update sila for the next round. mukang mabagal ang pag invite nila ngyn gawa ng volume ng application e naka pro-rata pa din sila.

Mukang 65 parin ang inuuna nila @paupau29 . Nung sep 22, 60 pts tas visa date of effect is may pa. I suggest mag ielts ka uli mukang kayang kaya mo naman i band 8 lahat e. Or try mo ipareevaluate yung speaking mo para sure na maselect kasi 70 pts ka kung nagkataon

Hi, I'd like to seek your advice. I'm currently consolidating my documents for ACS Skills Assessment. I graduated BSIE (Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering) from Mapua, and have 4 years Business/Systems Analyst experience, and 2 years Project Management experience. I'm also a PMP (Project Management Professional) credential holder.

What are my chances of getting a positive (suitable) result with ACS? Would you recommend the nominated occupation of Business/Systems Analyst? Or Project Manager instead?

Yung visa na na-grant sayo is Subclass 190, meaning may nag-sponsor na company sayo upon visa application palang?

I'm worried kasi IE ang course ko, which may not be closely related to these nominated occupations. And nabasa ko dito na babawasan nila ang number of years of experience mo if ever. And paano mo malalaman if Section 1 or Section 2 school ang Mapua?

@J_Oz naiisip ko na nga magpa remark ng speaking e. kaso 6 weeks, tapos i think kailangan ko iwithdraw ung EOI ko pag nagparemark. sabi kasi sa IDP site:
During the period of remarking your test results cannot be used to apply for a university or to be sent to an immigration office.

Hehe. Pero sa expatforum ung 60-pointers roughly 4 months nag hihintay e. So baka okay din na magpa remark? Wait ko yung invitation rounds results bukas pag 65-pointers pa din baka magpa remark na ako. Or retake.

@mmm_85 yung visa ni @cgm is subclass 190 - meaning may state na nagsponsor sa kanya which is VIC.

About sa kung anong occupation ang ipapa-assess mo, ang 2611 (Business/Systems Analyst) ay nasa SOL so that means pwede ka mag apply for 189. Kaso lang may backlogs itong occupation na ito. Ang ICT Project Manager naman, wala sa SOL, so you have to look for a state na magssponsor sayo. Kaso at the moment, nakahold ung sponsorship ng states for ICT related occupations. For instance, yung VIC magoopen pa tentatively on January 2015. Ini-close nila yung State Sponsorship nila for ICT occupations starting October 1.

Actually madaming considerations e.. Since non-IT course ka, kailangan mo din icheck yung number of units mo na ICT related.

@paupau29 better if you resit your IELTS, alam ko namang maning mani lang sayo yon. look at your current ielts result. Mas mabilis pa after 13 days meron na agad dba? if kaya pa naman sa budget, why not?

Since non-IT ang course ko, mukhang need ko din magsubmit ng RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning).

Meron na po ba dito or may kakilala na nagsubmit ng RPL and naging suitable ang result ng Skills Assessment for Business/Systems Analyst? Any tips/advice?

@mmm_85 hi po. actually ako kahit section 1 school ko at computer engineering grad ako hindi closely related at 4 years binawas sa akin kay 190 ako. in my signature meron diyan units or topics na dapat nasa tor mo. pero am not sure IE.

Hello guys, quick question lang po! Meron po bang na assest dito ng ACS for ICT 261111 na graduate po ng BS in Computer Science?

Cause I am checking now the related core ICT units... may mga ilang pagkakaiba kasi..
I understand po ang Computer Science is mas suitable po sa 261312 or 261311 (Programmer) pero ang experience ko po kasi ay nasa ICT Business Analyst at Technical support.

I'm just wondering kung ano po naging result from ACS kung meron na po tayong kaibigan na nakapagpaassest dito?

@Stoked0419 Hi, I am a computer engineering graduate pero ICT Business Analyst ang occupation ko. Basta computer related ang course mo and closely related yung job responsibilities mo sa nominated occupation and you have sufficient years of work experience then wala dapat problem. Even yung mga non-computer related ang courses pero business analyst ang job experience nakapasa naman sila sa assessment through the RPL route.

@rara_avis hello, by May 2015 pa lang kasi will turn 5 years to reach the minimun requirement for 261111. Baka po kasi bawasan ni ACS ang experience ko kapag na assestna diploma lang daw equivalent sa knila ng degree ko

yes, i think babawasan yan ng ACS ng 2 years. My degree was assessed as diploma lang din but during that time di pa nagbabawas ang ACS ng work experience so nacredit yung 5 years and 4 months experience ko as B.A.
