@guenb thanks, mas okay pte kasi sa computer yung essay at mabilis ang results. Gulat nga ako the next day meron agad. For the review materials, try ptepractice.com may bayad yung goldkit pero helpful yung scored test. Tapos may pte thread din dito, may mga nakuha akong tips dun.

I actually posted the same concern in ACS thread. Repost ko na lang din dito, baka sakaling may makasagot sa concern ko.

Question po, graduate po kasi ako ng Computer Engineering (5-yr course). Initial work ko is programmer (for 4 yrs), then naging BA (for 5 yrs). Plan ko magpa assess sa ACS as BA. Di ako sure if they will consider it as ICT Major or Minor, and if relevant yun work exp/skills ko sa course ko. Yun school ko falls under section 2.

Kinakabahan lang ako sa magiging result ng assessment. Im wishing na hindi 5pts un ibigay nila. Sana po may makapag share ng views re: sa qualification and skills ko. TIA!

@MissM medyo pareho tayo background, if mag-papa assess ka for BA then I think you'll have the same result as mine. Kahit section 2 school pero dahil 5-year course yung Coe I'm sure it will still be AQF Bachelor's Degree which will give you 15pts. Bale ganito yung result:

Your qualification has been assessed as not closely related to your nominated occupation:

Your Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from (institution) completed
(date) has been assessed as comparable to an AQF Bachelor Degree with a major in
computing.

So dahil not closely related yung ComEng sa BA they will deduct you 4 years from your experience. You will be suitable for migration but you cannot get points for experience.

@guenb oh no! nalungkot ako dun. 4 years ba agad yun ide deduct nila from work exp kapag "not closely related to your nominated occupation" ang assessment nila? Ang saklap kung ganun.

ayos, meron pala tayong thread dito.

currently gathering the requirements for ACS assessment at ini-estimate ko na rin yung posibleng points na makukuha ko para makahanap ako other ways para maabot ko yung 70pts.

I'm a graduate of BS Comp. Sci - IT, started as a programmer/dev for 4 years tapos after that 4 years din as a BA. sabi nung kaibigan ko ang 4 years as programmer/dev is considered closely related and half of that ang pwede iconsider (2 years). all in all, meron ako 6 years exp. yung "skill level requirement met date" na binabawas is 2 years din di ba? so 4 years na lang ang makukuhanan ko ng points? tama ba ang estimate ko? lol

@joeyeoj hmmm actually dapat medyo mgkalapit yung description nung work mu as DEV sa BA para ma consider as related work yun sa nominated occupation mo. Anyway have everything assessed by ACS who knows they will consider. Yung sa required years I think they will deduct 4years from you. Hunch ko lang naman yun, good luck!

hello meron po ba dito na naka file ng EOI with 60 pts lang.. may naging movement po ba application ninyo? or kailangan talaga 65pts? thanks in advance..

Hi for more accurate monitoring of invitations you can check this website too. Dito ako nagaabang dati kung kelan possible invitation and accurate namen may tracker sila. And yes many applicants are applying for 2 EOI, one for each 189 and 190.

Matagal ang waiting time for 60pts pero mainvite ka naman. may mga kilala ako last year 60pointers halos 9 months to one year waiting time.

Hi @kxiaolu, I was referring only to ICT BA (261111) 60 pointers 189 that they need to wait longer since this code is Pro-Rata compare to other skilled occupations that even 60 pointers can be invited for days or weeks.

60 points is good if you are not rushing , 65 points is better tama tama waiting time lang and 70 points is the best (sure invite on the next round heheheh no more bilasa in waiting game )

@grant512 yun lang if ever it'll take a year for possible ITA mababawas points ko because of age hassle kasi yung muntik ko na makuha sana +10 ng IELTS, if only i got the missing 0.5 on the reading exam! tama ba na yun age is dapat nasa ITA na to record it as pasok sa bracket and not as I lodged the EOI pa lang?

@kxiaolu yes dapat nasa ITA na na record. Ang nangyari naman samin nabawasan ng age bago kami lodge ng EOI, while waiting for the invitation naman nag increase ng 5pts sa job experience. My wife failed 2x of IELTS exam din. Pero I know someone 7x ata nag PTE-A and now nakapag lodge na sya si master Glenn. Don't give up on your dreams

@grant512 indeed! or if best is swap kami ni husband, sya nalang mag file ng EOI for 261313 Software Engineer....would you know if feasible na mag apply sya ng EOI din under 190 na pareho kami, sya nga lang yung main? or baka masilip sa NSW na nag file kami ng iisa intent.... sorry andami ko questions

@guenb hard to predict now since I don't check the IMMI tracker anymore. But if you will see my timeline below my avatar it took us 3 months to get an invite for 65 points.

hello uli @grant512 i looked back sa thread and noticed you opt for 189, quoting specifically what you said "Yung sa amin kasi visa 189 di kami na invite ng state." -- was that from VIC or NSW? what did they say on rejection from that attempt?

@kxiaolu hi, no rejection letter and no invitation letter received from the 2 states. Then 189 invitation came so we lodge our visa then. Unpredictable kasi ang date if kelan ka invite ng state maximum 90 days if not mistaken. Mas ma predict mo pa ang invitation ng 189 dahil dun sa tracker na gamit sa kabila forum.

Ano status ng application nyo na pala?

@jayet15 pro-rata yung occupation natin. As of last Sept. 14 invite, yung mga nagsubmit lang ng EOI as of May 4, 2016 with 65 points ang naiinvite. Hindi pa kasi released yung last invitation round details.
