Hi @beaj! So kpag nsa Australia na, nde na AITSL mag assess? ACECQA na? Nakita ko kasi sa site ng ACECQA may mga list of schools sila sa OZ na accredited nila. Kpag dun mo nakuha cert, dip or deg mo eh considered k as qualified teacher...accredited nila ang TAFE ;)

Apply to have your qualifications assessed (including overseas qualifications)
    Individuals
If you hold a qualification that is not on ACECQA's list of approved educator qualifications, you should determine if you were recognised as a qualified educator under a former education and care services law for the state or territory that you worked in prior to 1 January 2012. If you were recognised as a qualified educator, you will continue to be recognised. If you need to seek advice on recognition under former laws, please contact your regulatory authority.

Before contacting your regulatory authority, please ensure that you have thoroughly checked ACECQA’s list of approved educator qualifications, including the former approved qualifications included in the list, and attempted to determine whether you are recognised as a qualified educator under a former law.

If you do not hold a qualification on ACECQA’s list of approved educator qualifications and you were not recognised as a qualified educator under a former education and care services law, you can apply to ACECQA to have your qualification(s) assessed for equivalence.

Apply to ACECQA for equivalent qualification assessment

If your application to have your qualifications assessed for equivalence is successful, ACECQA will issue you a certificate. This certificate will demonstrate to employers that your qualification(s) are recognised as equivalent to an approved qualification for the purposes of the National Quality Framework.

If your application is unsuccessful, ACECQA will provide you with reasons for its decision.

Hi everyone! Kamusta po ang mga aspiring Pinoy teachers for AU? I just wanted to share my experience.
I moved here Dec 2013 and now I've been registered as a teacher and working in two schools --one language college and another is a high school. It's an uphill climb since I applied from the Phillipines-- IELTS,AITSL,Visa, NBI etc.--but when you get here it's another struggle. Was just blessed to have been hired within a week of arrival to teach in a College for IELTS training.!
Being registered as a teacher was just as gruelling!!-- working with children check, proof of English proficiency, and getting the Teacher's Institute number. Right now, I'm teaching ESL part-time in a private high school and more days in the Language College in Sydney.
I'm the only Asian teacher so far, but Filipino teachers have a lot chance to make it as well, so keep trying!!
    Cheers! :-h

Hi good on her!! Early years education is in-demand here as well. When she's done with IELTS with the required scores then she sends her documents to AITSL. There's a checklist outlining what's needed to be forwarded. It would be best to have her skills and experienced recognised by AITSL so she might want to secure certificate of employment from the school where she had been teaching relevant to the nominated occupation i.e preschool experience for applying as a preschool teacher. Then she waits for three months I think for the AITSL positive response. In my case while waiting, I gathered and prepared all other documents like passport, NBI, etc so when my AITSL certificate was posted I lodged my application immediately on the same day-- time was important on my part bec I was turning 40 on the month I lodged. So it was indeed a miracle that I was invited a day before my birthday where I would have lost points due to change in age bracket.
So keep trucking!! Goodluck and Godbless!!

@kindred Yes, im the main applicant now but still waiting for my job to open sa NSW for visa 190 so pang backup din yung sa wife ko. My wife is reviewing for IELTS now for AITSL assessment. She has a higher chance to get approved kasi for the visa 189 unlike me na still waiting for my job to open pa. She gathered all docs na din para after ng IELTS pa-assess na agad sya. Sana lang makuha na nya nag required score this time. Thank you!

@aiayosef Hello, sorry hindi ko na nachecheck to.

Kapag nasa AU ka with any kind of visa except tourist, basta you are allowed to work, you should have an ACECQA qualification (meaning kelangan assessed ng ACECQA yun certificate, diploma or degree). If your school is included in the list then no need to have it assessed. I'm not sure but i think acecqa is just for Early Childhood Education and Primary teachers. But don't quote me on this.

AITSL on the other hand, is for assessment for migration. So let's say, if someone offshore wants to migrate here, they need to get an AITSL assessment FIRST kasi yan yung tinitignan ng DIAC, not acecqa. If you're successful and already here, by then should you get your ACECQA assessment.

Case to case basis to ha, depending on what level you are teaching. But definitely, AITSL is for migration purposes.

@AspireAU21 AITSL will cover all teacher applicants migrating to AUS. Once you're here, ayseekwa
( as it's pronounced here:)) will assess your qualifications again for teaching students ( up to 13 y/o).
Then, teacher regulation authorities per state will assess you as well. But that's going ahead. What's important is that you'll be able to migrate here. Take one step at a time. Good luck again!
