I called centrelink and asked if online registration can be done. Yes it can be done, i already have my CRN no. now :) Just go to www.humanservices.gov.au. Then click the "Register" link on the upper right of the website. Then scroll down to the bottom of the page, there's a "Register" button. Then just follow instructions in there. :)

Nice. I actually found that but I did not finish it because it will give you a CAN instead of a CRN. Now I know that these are one and the same. Still, I am not entitled to claim anything. He he. I am not complaining. Medicare is more than enough for me. I went to the GP because i had high cholesterol before. She requested everything and it is all free. This is an awesome country. Thank God for the chance to live and raise my kids here.

    Hi everyone.

I just have one question. Actually two questions. Ehehe

    1. Ang 189 visa holder ba eh considered ng domestic student dito sa oz? Or still international student padin? Kasi diba ang laki ng priveledge kapag domestic student ka, ang liit lang ng tuition mo sa skul.

    2. Eh ang dependant or secondary 189 visa holder naman, considered ding domestic student din ba?

    Salamat.

@lester_lugtu - PRs (primary and secondary and dependents) are residents so they are not considered international students.

mga kabayan pakicheck kung tama yung naconsolidate ko na info about some of the benefits we are entitled, curiosity lng po:
Family Tax A: entitled if you are having a dependent under ur care (no aid)
Family Tax B: entitled if isa lng yung may income sa family
Parenting payment: entitled after 2 years residency
rental assistance: not entitled if u are receiving Family tax benefit?(confusing)
child care benefit: if ur child is under child care aid, eliminates ur prev for Fam Tax ben
telephone allowance: claimable in conjunction with parenting payment

the above list only applies for my status having a 1-yr old..marami pang schooling benefits na hindi ko sinama. open for inputs and corrections...
For Rental Assistance, you are entitled if you're receiving family tax benefit.
thanks..I am really confused with that bnefit...salamat sa pagclarify

what i can confirm to you is that centrelink, medicare, tax matters are usually the same for all states.

Para po sa mga New PRs... I believe exempted tayo sa pagbabayad ng Travel Tax if flying from the Philippines... tama po ba?

For example PR kana, pero hindi ka naman nakatira sa Australia (like you are still working in Singapore/Dubai)... Then nagbakasyon ka sa Pinas and decided to travel to Hong Kong or Bangkok... Magbabayad ka pa rin ba ng Philippine Travel Tax? Or exempted ka na since you are an Australian PR (even though hindi ka pa naman nakatira sa Oz)?

    http://www.tieza.gov.ph/index.php/travel-tax
Filipino permanent residents abroad whose stay in the Philippines is less than one (1) year

    1. Copies of the identification pages of passport and stamp of last arrival in the Philippines:

    2. Proof of permanent residence in foreign country (e.g. US Green card, Canadian Form 1000, etc)

    3. Certification of Residence issued by the Philippine Embassy / Consulate attesting that he/she is continuously residing for five years in the country which does not grant permanent status or appropriate entries in the passport.
Also, sa pagkakaalala ko rin, once nag-enter kana ng Australia, whether dumaan ng Pinas or ibang bansa, considered ka na as Immigrant / Permanent Resident ng Australia... which means may immunity ka na sa Travel Tax hehe... Tama kaya ako?

@J_Oz - you still pay for your travel tax as you are not yet an Australian PR; when you arrive here with an Australian PR Visa, you become an Australian PR.

Return trips mo sa Pinas will be travel tax free na (just pay an admin fee of 200 ata).
