here goes. when i checked the reqts, under general skilled migration... dapat maka 65 points, tama ba? ang plan namin kasi mauuna si hubby for 1-2 years and then susunod kami ni daughter. si hubby kasi 2 yr course ng computer technology ang natapos. ang current work nya is encoder/courier sa transport and logistics (parang all around on site person) for about 3 yrs. ako naman, i finished BS ECE, and i work as an IT helpdesk analyst for roughly 5 yrs. feeling ko mas pasok ako na primary applicant.
He's from Blacktown.
God Bless!

For those with relative sponsored 489 EOIs, how many points did you claim and how long did you have to wait before you received an invite?
I'm just trying to get a feel of my chances. I plan on submitting my EOI in July once I finish my studies here and get successful skills assessment. I can't help but worry about my chances kasi ICT ang occupation ko which is capped as of this time so mejo tagilid in terms of getting an invite. My estimated points is 70 (60 + 10 for relative sponsorship)
Thank you.

I was able to get 65 points and it took 5 months before I received my invitation. At that time kasi tag 10 lang iniinvite nila sa 489 visa bawat round ng invite kaya medyo natagalan ung saken. If you have 70 for your 489 mas mdali un kasi mas mataas ung points and sa ngayon 100 invites ata sa bawat round, so mas malaking chansa.

I just want to get some insights and advice from this forum. Plan po namin magasawa maglodge ng application undersubclass 489. to give you a short background nurse po kaming magasawa.
husband 30 yrs old
2+ years exp as a nurse
2+ years accumulated technical support representative
wife 30 years old
1 year exp as a nurse
9 months as community support worker in NZ
2 1/2 years healthcare assistant
family of my brother in-law nasa canberra and my sister's family plan na din po nila magmigrate sa canberra. since hindi po kami pwd magapply for a nurse occupation dahil sa bridging course, Pwede po ba na gamitin namin yung exp ng husband ko as technical support representative although nasa closed occupation siya ngayon sa ACT (225499 Technical Sales Representatives nec)?
Super thank you po sa makakasagot..

The Department has advised that Skilled Nomination visa places for visa sub-classess 190 and 489 are close to being filled for the 2014 – 2015 migration programme year (which runs from July to June each year.) This means that although skilled nominated applications will continue to be processed until the start of the new migration year in July, any final decisions on visa applications may be delayed.
Further, Expressions of Interests will continue to be processed, and Invitations to Apply will continue to be issued for the affected visa subclasses (190 and 489). However, due to the limited number of places available until July, the granting of visas in this category cannot be guaranteed this programme year.
