hi good day. bago lang po ako dito. pagpasensyahan nyo na po kung madaming tanong. we're planning to migrate to AU. and im on the planning/researching stage.

here goes. when i checked the reqts, under general skilled migration... dapat maka 65 points, tama ba? ang plan namin kasi mauuna si hubby for 1-2 years and then susunod kami ni daughter. si hubby kasi 2 yr course ng computer technology ang natapos. ang current work nya is encoder/courier sa transport and logistics (parang all around on site person) for about 3 yrs. ako naman, i finished BS ECE, and i work as an IT helpdesk analyst for roughly 5 yrs. feeling ko mas pasok ako na primary applicant.

He's from Blacktown.

God Bless!

@mjade2680 Hi! I read that you are also in 489 visa qld regional and you plan to go to mel first on feb 10. Natuloy po ba kayo sa melbourne? Is it really allowed? I am also in 489 visa qld regional and I also plan to go to Sydney first. Our relatives are in Sydney pero di po qualified occupation ko doon so I ended up in Qld.

@gracee yup its allowed, you can travel also anywhere in Australia, in or out. But remember to fulfill the visa conditions so you are qualified for PR later on.

hello @filsgoz thank you soooo much for answering each and every question. i really appreciate it. Yes i know na malaking funds ang kailangan kaya im gathering all info and im trying to back read as much as i can. Thankful for this site. Reading the description of the ANZSCO codes, i think i found mine. Nagiiba po ba yung SOL list from time to time or fixed sya? Bali 489 na po yung next option ko? Kaso, kelangan masponsor ako ng relative or ng australian state? Hala, parang wala nang pwede. :-/

    TIA.

@zoe_girl : You mean the time na nag-apply ka sa EOI mo eh 55 points ka? (including State Nomination from SA? and no points for ilets?)

I am wondering if i can do the same tho 489 - Sponsored by a Relative naman ako with 50 points lang. Any comments?

    Thank you.

    Hi guys,

For those with relative sponsored 489 EOIs, how many points did you claim and how long did you have to wait before you received an invite?

I'm just trying to get a feel of my chances. I plan on submitting my EOI in July once I finish my studies here and get successful skills assessment. I can't help but worry about my chances kasi ICT ang occupation ko which is capped as of this time so mejo tagilid in terms of getting an invite. My estimated points is 70 (60 + 10 for relative sponsorship)

    Thank you.

@appledeuce Hello, I was just granted with 489 visa relative sponsored. My suggestion is,60 points is enough already to apply for 189 indepndent visa. Mas madali kasi yun dahil mas madami silang slot every month, whereas sa 489 napakaliit lang, mas malaki chance mo ma invite sa 189 visa, kahit na naka cap ung skill mo.

Ilang points bah required ngayon sa skill mo? If 60 points is enough, go for 189 visa.

Thank you @luffy87. Yup, currently 60 points ang cutoff for ICT occupations pero sa July pa ako magpapasa ng EOI and who knows what changes the DIBP will implement by that time. I think I'm worrying too much too early hehe. BTW, ilang points ka, and how long ka naghintay for a 489 invitation after passing your EOI?

@appledeuce You're still waiting pa ba sa result ng skill assessment kaya July ka pah maglo lodge? if may result kana sUbmit agad ng EOI before July as much as possible. Who knows baka alisin ung skill mo sa SOL, huwag nman sana. So much better before July talaga.

I was able to get 65 points and it took 5 months before I received my invitation. At that time kasi tag 10 lang iniinvite nila sa 489 visa bawat round ng invite kaya medyo natagalan ung saken. If you have 70 for your 489 mas mdali un kasi mas mataas ung points and sa ngayon 100 invites ata sa bawat round, so mas malaking chansa.

@luffy87 I still have to finish my last semester, which ends in May. Requirement kasi siya sa assessing body (ACS). So June pa ako makakasubmit ng application for skills assessment, wait for the result which takes around 4 weeks saka ako makakapag EOI if positive yung result ng skills assessment. Thanks for the advise and words of encouragement. Congrats pala for finally receiving an invite after waiting for around 5 months. Good luck sa visa application mo :)

    hello po everyone,

I just want to get some insights and advice from this forum. Plan po namin magasawa maglodge ng application undersubclass 489. to give you a short background nurse po kaming magasawa.

    husband 30 yrs old
2+ years exp as a nurse
2+ years accumulated technical support representative

    wife 30 years old
1 year exp as a nurse
9 months as community support worker in NZ
    2 1/2 years healthcare assistant

family of my brother in-law nasa canberra and my sister's family plan na din po nila magmigrate sa canberra. since hindi po kami pwd magapply for a nurse occupation dahil sa bridging course, Pwede po ba na gamitin namin yung exp ng husband ko as technical support representative although nasa closed occupation siya ngayon sa ACT (225499 Technical Sales Representatives nec)?

Super thank you po sa makakasagot..

@Ayeen ...may CO ka na ba? Please refer to the link on the indicative allocation dates for each visa type.. http://www.immi.gov.au/Work/Pages/general-skilled-migration/estimated-allocation-times.aspx

@orevro ...ang titignan naman is the work experience for the past 10 years. Important is may positive skills assessment sya on the nominated occupation. The points allocated on work experience is equivalent only to the number of years experience nya as tech support rep..check also the work experience needed to get positive assessment..this is outlined sa requirements ng assessing body..pag closed na occupation nya sa list, you have to wait July 1 kung magiging available uli...i know State sponsorship sa ACT is currently suspended...goodluck

NEWS from a migration agent website:

The Department has advised that Skilled Nomination visa places for visa sub-classess 190 and 489 are close to being filled for the 2014 – 2015 migration programme year (which runs from July to June each year.) This means that although skilled nominated applications will continue to be processed until the start of the new migration year in July, any final decisions on visa applications may be delayed.

Further, Expressions of Interests will continue to be processed, and Invitations to Apply will continue to be issued for the affected visa subclasses (190 and 489). However, due to the limited number of places available until July, the granting of visas in this category cannot be guaranteed this programme year.

@Ayeen Limited na kasi places for the program year, visa 190/489 is only 28,850 places for 2014-2015. Just be positive..anyway pag dating ng July 1, balik agad yan sa zero. Based on the schedule, Jan 28 na ang pinaprocess nila. Since Feb ka nag apply, malapit lapit na yan
