I'm Bea. Nagaapply din ako for student visa sa Australia. I actually just came back from SG. nagwork ako dun as a preschool teacher for a year eh hindi ko nagustuhan. So ngayon sa AU naman. Apparently, mahirap kumuha nun 457 na visa. So, decided to apply for student visa.
Okay nako lahat actually. Pero I'm in a terrible dilemma.
Here's my situation:
I got accepted in the two schools that I applied to. Yun isa University of Technology Sydney (MA in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) for 1.5yrs tapos yun isa sa Bridge Business College (Diploma in Business)for 2yrs. My problem is, ayoko na talaga maging teacher. I mean I dont see myself teaching for the rest of my life.
I dont get why pero sabi niya pangit daw sa resume. Eh sabi ko nga sakanya, gusto ko lang ng ibang course, pero gagamitin ko padin yun teaching para makalodge ng PR in the future.
So now, I want to ask all of u kung ano ba ang mas wise decision? Go to UTS and take my MA in teaching o BBC with diploma in business. Which decision will most likely make it easier for me to be a PR in AU?
Sorry kung mahaba, I'm running out of time na kasi, and nabbwisit nako kausap yun mga tanders dito samin. hahahah

Welcome po sa forums.
I'm not really an expert on this, but I will give my inputs. If you are looking for a way to get a PR easier, make sure you enroll a course which is CRICOS registered, and should be at least 92 weeks for the course duration. I know this because I claimed 5 points for Australian Study.
You can also do a bit more research on DIAC's website, but I know there is a visa wherein you can apply for a PR visa after you completed your course. But you should apply within 6 months of course completion. And by the way, I read somewhere about English courses are not valid when claiming points for Australian Study.

So basically, I need to lean more towards taking the Business course since it's 2years and is not English course-related. I did check if BBC was CRICOS registered and fortunately it was.
Also, there's this new policy regarding student visas, that streamlined visa processing arrangements and luckily, the school is included in the list as well.
Anyway, thank you again for your two cents. Really appreciate it.

Thanks! I'm decided na. I will take the 2yr Business Diploma Course. I just enrolled.
Now I'm lodging my visa.
I have a friend back in SG who's planning to go to AU din. They're getting help from this SG agency. Not really sure how it goes about though.

We tried before umattend ng mga seminars about migrating s agency, but we decided to apply on our own...ngpa-assess nko mejo ngkproblema lang...final plan nmin, student Visa...intay kami ng visa, hopefully maging ok at umabot kmi ng august Intake s Asia Pacific international College and CRICOS sya. APIC naman after graduation tulungan k nila s pghhnap ng work and 7K tuition/sem. Kinuha pla ng Hubby ko Master Business in Project Management 2years.
hear about TAFE?

I'm not sure with TAFE, parang vocational education ata inooffer nila. Pero I know people who took courses there, and okay naman naging PR naman sila. I guess it all boils down to how you do your job. Sympre tayong mga galing sa SG we kinda know how it works na - how to work and live abroad so siguro may edge na tayo kahit papano. And I really believe na Filipinos abroad do their job very well talaga.
And yes, sobrang mahal talaga sa University.

If I were you, i would study diploma in nursing or diploma in Network Engineering or any ICT Courses in any community colleges or TAFE.
Putting my two cents in....
one hella' skilled visa grantee. Happily ended up as an ICT gov't employee where SKILLS Australia is just one desk away!

Na it's not about your school. Yun talaga balak ko, study a different course pero get employed in a school, then hopefully i-sponsor ng company.

Choose the course which is significantly EMPLOYABLE and choose REGIONAL AREA. Aside from cheap tuition, and very affordable standard of living (food and basic services are cheaper compared to big cities), there is an additional 5 migration points for living in regional area.
Most employable skills: NURSING (diploma in nursing), ICT (diploma in network engineering), Aged Care (certificate III in Aged Care)
By the way, under construction ngayon ang isa sa pinakamalaking hospital sa adelaide located at west terrace. Next year siguradong mag ha-hire sila ng napakaraming nurses and other medical practitioners.
