@jez24 basta paid work even if on contractual basis is considered. It will be to your advantage if you worked for a company that is known globally. Yan ang aking pinaka-magandang tip! ;) Super effective!

hi everyone, check ko lang po sana if anyone has tried or may kakilala kau na non-cpa sa pinas at na-grant ng visa lets say 175/176? im not sure kasi kung makakapasa ang mga non board passers, baka kasi magsayang lang ng panahon at pera.

    salamat po :)

Pwede po. Punta ka sa website ng cpa australia, meron mga steps dun for assessment and indicate nila kung anung mga subjects yung kailangan mu pang kunin. You can then register for australia open universities for the classes (pwde 'siguro' ang mga exams sa mga registered testing centres sa pinas like prometric or whatever). Yun nga lang, you may have to do the actual cpa exams in Aus. Why not go for the CA route, baka parehas lang yung kulang mung subjects sayang namn, mas mataas ang level pag CA, recognised kapa sa UK and CDN.

This is not good. I received negative assessment from CPAA because I failed to complete Accounting Theory which was made mandatory for Accountant occupation last July 2010. Anyone else experienced this? I am a CPA from a Section 1 school. I am really confused as I have completed Theory of Accounts and Auditing Theory. What is this Accounting Theory subject that they are referring to?

Should I appeal? Or apply to NIA instead?

    Hi,

Quick question lang sa mga accountants dito who recently had their assessments sa mga relevant regulatory bodies - how many pages yung syllabus documents ninyo?

From what I can imagine, it would seem like sobrang dami nito...

Appreciate any advise from the folks here.

    Cheers!

Hi Burberry. Sent you a message.

I am the first of my classmates to get unfavourable result. But then again, they applied two years ago. Sa IPA/NIA, Contemporary Issues in Accounting ang mandatory instead of Accounting Theory. At least I have the former in my syllabus. So try ko dun.

Hi balletshoes. I hope you don't mind asking you that when you said that you received a negative assessment, does it state in the letter that it is a negative assessment?

The reason I'm asking is that 2 to 3 years ago some of my CPA friends received an assessment from CPAA that for the purpose of satisfying the core curriculum criteria they were required to study 3 more subjects (tax, corp. finance & acctng theory). However, it was also stated in the assessment letter that their Bachelor Degree is comparable to Aus tertiary qualifications.

I'm not sure if CPAA has changed its policy since then but what I am saying is you migth still get a positive assessment despite the required subject.

Perhaps you might want to look into an appeal as an option.

    God bless.

Reply to @balletshoes: try to appeal first.. if not, enrol in contemporary issues in accounting theory. you may inquire from your school, it's a new subject in the current 5yr accounting course. dati kasi, optional lang hindi core requirement ang accounting theory, pero ngayon kelangan mong ma pasa in order to have positive assessment.
