Salamat for sharing bro... i am also conditioning my mind na sa umpisa mahirap at kailangan handa sa anumang trabaho. Kaya i'm giving more time doing physical chores and activities... kasi sa work lagi lang sa office.

Ayos meron palang ganitong thread dito..kakadating lang namen last June 4, EE din ako pero more on maritime experience and as an electrician yung talagang naging line of work. Dito kame sa west suburb ng VIC 20 mins by train to Melbourne..so far puro by phone ang interview tapos ang daming hinahanap na mga licences at certificates etc..importante rin na may driver's licence at own transport palagi nakasulat sa job ads nila hinahanap din sa interview.
@iammaxwell1989 regarding sa pagpasok mo as kitchen assistant, pano ka nakapasok dun or nag apply? sa ngayon lahat ng pwedeng pasukan apply ako pero parang walang pumapansin, mag 1 month na kame kaya medyo kinakabahan na din baka maubusan ng baon..

@emboll33 I enrolled for the food handling course in Melbourne CBD. Costs about $50 for a half day course. I am pretty sure there's also an online course.

After that I 'tweaked' my resume, and sent out applications on seek. I didn't bother modifying the resume for every application, just one resume for all kitchen assistant applications. Ended up getting a role with Qantas, through Chandler Macleod.

The pay was actually pretty good - even better than my engineering job especially if it's a weekend!

@iammaxwell1989 nakikitira kame ngayon dito sa Sunshine...tips naman kung pano on how did you "tweaked" your resume...naisip ko na din kumuha ng mga short courses but for now plan ko kumuha ng white card para makapasok sa mga general Labourer jobs..

@emboll33 Yep may cover letter ako sa lahat ng applications, pero simple lang sa mga kitchen assistant roles.

I remember putting experiences which I did not have - although I am certain I have the skills and can do the job. It's not exactly ethical, and I am not encouraging anybody to do this as this can go against you. But each to his own.

hello mga parekoy, kmusta, mga electrical fitter dyan o kaya A grade electrician na contractor o may kilalang contractor, baka kailangan nyo ng assistant sa mga wiring jobs, need ko ng working hours para makapag exam ng A grade. part time o casual available anytime at kahit pangmerienda lang ok na sa akin. Been here in melbourne for almost 4 years na pero hirap makausad ng career as electrical fitter, so para sa mga bago o kaya nandito na I can share experience and hope we can help each other.

Hi guys, EE din ako but my experienced is more in maintenance and technician with 10 years experienced. So most of my job interviews are related to my experience. If you were given a chance to come here in aus, it means your experience is enough. During interviews, you have to be confident about your skills and make them see that you are. I came here as a general electrician though, now if you came here as an engineer and you are looking to find a job as an electrician or technician there are site which will give you more info. I live in melbourne, so the site i am recomending is esv.gov.au, i guess in other state, just search electrical licensing on that states. Hope it helps.

@leah28 Yes, catering service. I remember I used to do both international and domestic flights.

On another note, it might also be helpful to read AS/NZ standards especially if a job requires knowledge of the Australian codes and standards. I remember reading AS/NZS 3000 and 5033 when I was applying for a solar PV design engineering role. Was really close to getting the role, but tough luck.

@Electrical_Engr_CDR,in my experience, if they are interested in you, they normally call you first to check if you are available and they may ask you some interview questions and then they will arrange for personal or online interview. Now if you have a way to answer your first call even if your not yet in oz and would have the time and money to fly asap to meet their shedule for the interview, then you have a fair chance, otherwise you would fall as the last person in their priority. Yes you have a good chance, especially if you got the credentials and experience to impress them with your cvr. Now, you will not be hired immediately after this personal interview, i am sure there is a next round of interview, if you will be shortlisted.

2 years - Design Engineer (Traceability) sa isang multinational company

ahh ganun pala marami pong salamat sa info.

medyo ok namn kasi work ko kaya nakakapanghinayang din mag-resign kung wala pa sure trabaho sa Oz.

Sa lagay ng economy ng Oz ngayon , not to mention the exchange rate baka lumiit pa ang take home ko.

Di ko nga alam kung maganda lumipat sa Oz ngayong 2015-2016.

Assuming EE ka, apply ka muna assessment sa Engrs Australia as Prof. Engineer - Electrical ( anzco 233311) .

Kung di ka man qualified, Sasabihin naman nila sa assessment letter kung anong ANZco code ka pwede. maaring Engineering Technologist, Electrical engg draftsperson or Other Engineering Professional.

What i see as a disadvantage on your part is your work experience may not be credited as
3 plus years because two stated work experience may not be related.

However, i might be wrong . I highly recommend that you apply for additional assessment for skilled work experience to determine if they are closely related or not.

@Futures almost 7 yrs as electrician sa container ship pero as Electrical Engineer ung inapply ko as Skill kasi technically Electrical Engineer talaga ang job title ko dun although nakasanayan na as Electrician or ETO pag sa barko.

@emboll33, sa seek lang ako nag aaply, electrical fitter, trade assistant, technician, pag may nakita ako openning ay inaaplayan ko, may mga tumawag din for interview dikona i mention ang company ha, basta in my experience, pag tinawagan ka, that means interested sila sayo, so the rest is history. Ano nga pala classification mo now so i can share some experience regarding your present situation.

@snooky what do you mean by classification? wla pa ako electrical licence dito.. almost 2 mos na kasi ko wala pa din ako nakuha work, meron na sana sa isang job agancy/labour hire mag start na ko as labourer sa factory kaso biglang nacancel nman..

@emboll33 , what i want to ask is did you came here as engineer or as general electrician. Ako kasi ay as general electrician. I have to submit again all my papers to trade recognition australia, then they classify me as electrical fitter. Nang time ko ay wala pa vetasses kaya diretso ako sa TRA. You can try to enquire sa TRA and Esv.gov.au and write them an email stating your education and experience and see what they would say.

@Electrical_Engr_CDR , actually if you have the time here to study ay madali lalo na kung PR ang visa mo, ang mahirap in my experience is to be hired as an apprentice kasi kalimitan kinukuha nila ay mga bata na naguumpisa palang. Anyway dont be discouraged coming here, isipin mo lang na kung madali pumunta rito at madali magkakuha ng trabahong gusto mo di madami ng nag apply at madami din compitensya. D2 if you are qualified, and you know and believe in your skill, walang age limit although wag naman above 60, ay you have a fair chance.

Yung TAFE po ba affordable? may mga program po kaya na pwede study now pay later?
