Hello mates,

Share naman kayo ng mga suburbs na natirhan niyo na and share nyo experience nyo and kung how much ang average rent mga ganon. plus yong gaano kalayo sa city and yong sa transpo.

Para magka-idea yong mga pupunta pa lang ng NSW kung saan maganda tumira and kung pasok ba sa budget at kung ano man. Alam ko madami mababasa outside this forum pero iba parin kasi kapag kapwa Pinoy ang magshare

Recommendations:
North Ryde
Macquarie Uni
Macquarie Park
Pymble
Chatswood
Epping
Thornleigh
Turramurra
Wahroongah.
Waitara.
Hornsby

Notes:
Blacktown - mostly pinoy
Paramatta - mostly anaps, parang 2nd CBD of NSW
Epping - mostly chekwa
Eastwood - mostly chekwa
Try to avoid Southwest are like Bankstown, Liverpool
Closer to east, more expensive rent.

@dantz15 actually i have a friend in sydney.. sa Surry hills siya before but lumipat siya sa Mascot. Sayang lang kasi nauna na niya parent ang isang room sa apartment niya...

Dami pinoy sa Sydney kaso wala masyado specific na mga suburbs and experience na nashare dito

Hi,

nakapag stay na kami ng paramatta(west) tapos lumipat kami ng north ( Killara and Wahroonga).

Paramatta ( apt - 380/ 2 br + 1 covered parking)
Killara ( apt - 420/ 1 br + parking)
Wahroonga ( granny flat - 450 / 2 br / st parking (inclusive of Water/elec)

If gusto mo mas peaceful , sa north ( wala gaanong RBT! )

Cost of living is the same lng naman( except sa presyo ng renta).

I suggest kung maghahanap ka ng bahay/apt, un malapit na sa work mo.

Para sa akin, mas safe pa rin ang Sydney kaysa sa pinas!

kasi nakakakot un LRT/MRT/BUS sa manila.

btw, magask sana ako ng advice. mag-asawa kasi kami and wala pang anak. Both of us balak magwork sa CBD. Do you think mas ok tumira yong mas malapit sa CBD tas mas mura ang transpo than medyo malayo pero mas kamahalan ang transpo? ang gulo no? hehe

Kung sa CBD ba malapit na sa train station? kasi un Opal,after 8 trips in a week libre na.
Take note na d pwede un bus+ train,isang count lng yun, so mahal kapag yan ang transpo type mo.

so if un apt na kukunin mo eh malapit lng sa train station tapos un office mo ganon rin, eh mag rent ka na sa north or sa west!
check mo sa website ng sydney trains un presyo ng ticket para my idea ka.

suggestion ko kung CBD bahay nyo eh, mag rent ka sa my bandang Chatswood(north din yan).

@nochipogi ang alam ko malapit sa train station yong work if ever maging ok ang lahat hehe. And yes, i've read about the opal weekly cap, tama no? So mas maganda parin mag rent near train station kesa mag rent near CBD talaga. Nagtitingin nga rin ako sa bandang Chatswood kasi mukang maganda ang environment. Sa North Sydney ba ok rin?

Yup okay din ang North Syd, my mga kaibigan din kami doon, ang rent nila 750 ata for 3 br, tapos my direct bus papuntang city.

sa chatswood,maganda kasi my westfield tapos parang nasa Asia ka lng.haha!! daming chinito/chinita.

depende naman usually sa budget mo din eh. basta mas malapit sa cbd mas mahal sya. we live in west ryde. so far ok naman sya. hindi magulo. may train station at malapit sa work namen ni hubby

may woolies at coles. basta based lang po sa mga naririnig at nababasa ko mejo magulo ata sa liverpool, bankstown, lakemba, auburn, granville at mga malapit dun. you can check po profile ng suburb before you decide kung saan nyo gusto magrent. sabi nila yung madaming lebanese daw yung magugulong lugar.

@kremitz ok so ekis ang may lebanese haha joke. But with regards sa matitipid namin pareho lang ba? kung malapit ang apartment sa cbd or malayo pero mas mataas ang transpo cost. Tsaka, ano po style ng mga tirahan diyan?

around 50-100 per week ata ang difference sa rent or baka mas malaki pa. i think mas tipid padin ata pag mas mura ang rent. usually mga 45min-1 hour from city na mga suburb.

can you recommend a suburb ideal for a couple.. btw, we are moving mid of October, if you guys know anyone na pwede kami magrent kahit temporary lang. Wala kami relatives sa OZ hehe

Nag compute kami, mas makakamura parin talaga kapag mas mura ang rent

pwede kasi tipirin ang fare sa train kung off peak ka sasakay base sa nabasa ko sa opal haha.

So far, we are looking to share an apartment in Parramatta CBD. I know that it is around 20km to/from Sydney CBD but it will save us a lot.

@retake any tips for us moving to Sydney?

Is maroubra okay, along anzac parade?

Maroubra is ok... There's a beach nearby. Dati may sikat na gang sa Maroubra na based... they call themselves Bra Boys... and medyo notorious suburb ito dahil sa kanila... But they cleaned it up... maayos na sya... If you need to be near UNSW malapit lang ang Maroubra dun.

Depende talaga sa tao kung mas gusto nya to live closer to the city... I would personally prefer to be closer to the city kahit na hindi na ako masyadong nagpupunta ng city.hehehe Important lang sa akin yung convenient and yung safety ng neighbourhoood... kasi minsan late na ako nakakauwi... Also, may mga tao na gusto nila yung vibe ng area... madaming restaurants, cafes, parks etc...

Pero may mga kilala ako mga nakatira sa west.. matatagal na dito... di na sila nagpupuntang city talaga... and they prefer to live out west.

Kung single ka, and mag start ka on your own.... siguro maganda din na you live closer to the city.. so you can get around and get to know the city muna... and then pag medyo matagal tagal ka na dito and naka adjust ka na... pwede ng lumipat sa mga outer suburbs... mas madali lang din kasi "maaliw" ng konti pag pumupuntang city.. nakakalungkot kasi pag dun ka lang sa suburb.

Also, being near a train station is quite convenient... kasi ang mga bus.. umiikot sa mga suburbs.. so it actually takes you quite a while to get to your destination. Except if you're planning to drive and convert your license... which makes this a non-issue...

But remember... pag gigimik.. you need to take public transport kasi iinom ka... hehehe

Also, with work.. syempre mas madaming work sa city.. but having said that, 7 years na ako sa sydney never pa akong nagwork sa city. I guess yung work mo.. depende din kung saan ka nakaregister na agent.. The agent looks after certain areas kasi... so ang work ko.. panay chatswood/ north sydney/ macquarie park dahil yung agent ko na masigasig ako hanapan ng work.. nasa north sydney dati.

Lol ngayon lang ako napadaan. Tama huwag sa suburbs na mdaming lebanese, ayaw ko mg discriminate pero iwas gulo lang. Maeksena yung visit in my aunt's place at auburn, pinuntahan ng pulis yung kapitbahay, ayoko na mag elaborate basta yun.
