Hello everyone! I am really interested in migrating. Dati pa sana kaso due to financial problems, I deferred it. Now, inaayos na namin yung mga papers for the skills assessment.

Question lang po. My husband has the detailed COEs kasi before in-apply na sya ng dating employer nya for labor certification sa US na hindi naman natuloy for green card, though pumasa sya sa labor cert. Those documents are dated 2007. Can we still use it for skills assessment? Or kailangan current date yung mga documents?

wala naman po nakalagay na kelangan ng current date ang mga COE. are these for his past experiences (previous companies)? kasi naiisip ko lang na sinusundan kasi nila ang date ng document to compute the years of experience.

example:
if the inclusive period of experience in the COE is "January 1, 2005 to Present" and date in the COE is January 1, 2007. ACS will calculate it as 2 years of experience instead of 7.5 years kasi 2012 na ngayon.

yan lang naman nakikita kong problem. im not 100% sure though kung meron mga assessors na hihingi pa ng must updated na COE's kung nandun naman sa 2007 version nyo lahat ng required info na hinihingi nila and it's for your previous experiences (not your current company). antay tayo ng iba na baka may mai-share na similar experience.

Yung mga COEs nyang yun from previous employers, as in may inclusive dates e.g. Feb 1, 2005 to March 2007. Madami-dami na rin naman kasi yung mga previous employers nya. Pero yun nga yung documents dated 2007. Ang problema kasi yung mga signatories nun wala na sa company. May isa pa syang employer na nag-change naman ng pangalan.

Sana walang maging problem yun ang hirap din kasi kumuha as in! Lalo na kung standard COE template lang ang gustong ibigay.

Magiging regular na ko sa forum na 'to. So many helpful ones. Nakaka-inspire ang mga experience ng mga members.

hello po newbie here. hubby and i are planning to immigrate na rin. he'll be the principal. PLM ECE graduate with 11yrs ICT experience in a telco company. We're planning to apply for Computer Network and Systems Eng'r under ACS

Question po: pasok po b un SOL na nominate namin and will he be under Group B?

Anybody here with same situation? share your experience pls. and maybe you can also give some tips.

like your husband, ECE din po ako and it's considered as an ICT course. actually, di ko na tinitingnan kung anung Group e...basta ang important po ay related yung qualifications nya dun sa job experiences nya. you can check ACS's description of Computer Network and Systems Engineer. make sure to pattern your detailed COE's in line with the description para walang problem. you can check it from here:

kung lahat ng 11 years experience nya ay related sa nominated occupation and given that ECE is considered as an ICT course...im sure wala kayo magiging problem sa assessment.

yung kailangan na lang namin ayusin is yung last 2yrs na job nya para naman sa points DIAC. mas nafocus kasi siya sa operations.

btw, yung Skill Employment Reference mo gaano kahaba? parang I read somewhere here na pinagprepare siya ng agent ng 7 pages long ng detailed jd with projects handled?

Hello Everybody! I am newbie here. I hope to get clarification on something. I just got the ACS result stating: Your skills have been assessed to be suitable for migration under 263112 (Network Admistrator) of the ANZSCO code. Your BS in ECE from my school has been assessed as comparable to an AQF Bachelor Degree with a major in computing. My question would be on the work experience ACS had evaluated. They only recognised my current employment as Network Engineer for more than 4 years but not the other 4 years experince as a technical support in another company. Would this mean that I can only claim 5 points in "Skilled Employment outside Australia", not 15 points?

Some info from DIAC:
For the purpose of awarding points, the department considers skilled employment in the nominated occupation or a closely related occupation will comprise at least 20 hours employment per week. In determining whether an applicant’s skilled employment is closely related to their nominated occupation, the department will take into consideration the occupations within one unit group classified under Australian and New Zealand Standard Classification of Occupations (ANZSCO).

Generally, applicants will be able to request an opinion about their skilled employment claims from the relevant assessing authority when seeking their skills assessment.

The decision to award points for skilled employment remains with of the departmental case officer.

Actually lock_code2004 yong tanong mo ang unang pumasok din sa isip ko. Mukhang hindi ko na weigh masyado yong previous employment ko sa nominated occupation. Pero kasi ang comment ng ACS, "non-professional ICT Level Experience". I took that experience from a technical call center. We supported Small Office Home Office networking products. So hindi ba nererecognised ng ACS ang call center work experience kahit technical pa eto? Or has anyone had the same experience? Salamat po!

Ayaw ko na mag appeal kasi mahal ang bayad. Tapos binalikan ko din kasi yong job description. Wala kasing nakalagay na mga vendors/product na sinupport, nakapaka general ng dating ng COE.

check mo ulit ang job description ng work experience mo na yan, then compare it to the other ANZSCO job code within the same unit group...

Hello fellow IT professionals / aspiring Oz immigrants,

Here are two tips that would help you decide under which occupation code you should apply.

Tip #1: Check the occupation ceiling by clicking the pull down tab next to Occupation Ceilings here. If you are planning to apply for an independent visa, make sure that your occupation code has enough allocation. May nabasa akong post dito ng isang member na gustong mag-apply as Computer Network and Systems Engineer kahit na IT Manager sya. Mas mataas ang occupation ceiling ng ICT Managers compared sa Network Engineers. Marami tayong kalaban na mga Indians and Europeans sa field natin, and all of them are fighting for a spot in that quota. Choose your battle wisely.

Tip #2: For those who are planning for state sponsored migration, check out Peter Chiam's IT page here. Some occupations are in demand in most states, some are not. Kung may relative kayo sa NSW or target nyo mag-settle down sa Sydney, for instance, you may apply either as an Analyst Programmer, Developer Programmer, Software Engineer, Systems Administrator, or Chief Information Officer. Network Administrators can only apply in South Australia, so there is not much option in that occupation code.

You might want to avoid applying as a Network Analyst dahil walang state na may demand for this occupation, and mababa ang occupation ceiling nya.

Guys question lang.. isinama nyo po ba yung work experience nyo na sideline lang?
Meron kasi akong work dati.. remote administration ng mga servers.. almost 3 years ko din sya ginawa though meron naman din ako full time work na almost the same din ang task.. does it count? or nagbibilang lang talaga sila base sa years of experience?

Lahat ng hard copy pa-photo copy ko then papa-notarize. Btw, i am also from SG

Ang dpat lang ata na isama ay full time work. May nabasa kase ako somewhere sa ACS about it especially pag kailangan mo na maghagilap ng mga reference letters/COE with regards to your past/present jobs.
