Reply to @Metaform: Sir pa-double check lang regarding Tip #1, pareho kami ng situation nung nag-post na gusto mag apply as Computer Network and Systems Engineer. I worked for more than 9 years sa Phils - i started as Technical Support Engineer covering both Network and Systems then when i left the company i am already a Manager for Network and Systems. Normally sa COE di ba yung last position mo sa company ang nilalagay? otherwise magiging sing haba na ng resume yung COE.

I moved to Singapore after i resigned and then landed on a job that is pure Voice over IP/Telecomms related. I'm on my 6th year now on this field and now a supervisor. I started reading the ACS requirement which include the SOL and i think any of the following will fit my skill set(and now including ICT Managers?)

263111 Computer Network and Systems Engineer
263311 Telecommunications Engineer
263312 Telecommunications Network Engineer

Medyo confusing kung alin pipiliin ko, if ever i consider ko yung Computer Network and Systems Engineer/ICT Manager mababalewala kaya yung 6 years ko in my current field or vice versa? In my personal opinion for now, mas limited yung skill set sa VoIP/Telecomms field as compared to Network and Systems(no offense meant) so baka mas high chance na pumasa ako sa assessment pero syempre sayang naman yung 9 years ko.

By the way, i been to Australia(Sydney/Melbourne) few times on business visa since it's part of the territory that we support. I'm still okay with my job in Singapore and if ever ma-grant yung visa tsaka ako mag-a-apply bago pumunta or pa-relocate ako since me office yung current company ko sa Sydney. Reply to @downzhift: If I were you sir piliin ko na yung ICT Manager code. Mas mataas yung ceiling nya compared sa tatlong enumerated mo, and may option ka for sponsorship in Canberra, NSW, and Perth.

ganyan din ako.. naguguluhan kung anung skillselect ang pipiliin.
as advised by @Metaform .. piliin mo yung mas mataas ang occupation ceiling..
with the new system kasi pataasan ng points at paagahan mag submit ng EOI.
as indicated sa ACS, mas mataas ang points, mas mataas ang ranking..
at kung meron man tie ng points, who ever submitted the EOI first will have the highest ranking.. so parang first come first serve basis na sila...

2613 Software and Applications Programmers -> 5160
2621 Database and Systems Administrators, and ICT Security Specialists -> 2400
2631 Computer Network Professionals -> 1740

yung work ko match 2631 which is MINOR GROUP 263 ICT Network and Support Professionals pero as you can see above mababa ang ceiling nya so i check other position... at pasok naman ako sa 2621 which is MINOR GROUP 262 Database and Systems Administrators, and ICT Security Specialists

Reply to @Metaform: hi! newbie po ako. i am planning to apply pa lang po. Im so glad na naopen nyo ung occupation ceilings. Medyo naguguluhan ako if what code and iapply ko sa ACS. ang work ko po is: I developed myself an online system ng company where ive been working for 5 yrs (business processes includes weekly payout and so on) All around ako dito, system analyst na rin, business analyst na rin, administrator and so on. i mainly used PHP to develop it. And i have been providing similar systems to other company as a sideline.

Based po sa experience ko, i dont know which is which to apply for. any suggestion po or advise. it would be great po. this would help me.

Reply to @dll: Since nasa 5k ang quota for 2613- Programmers, try mong i-pattern ang cv mo on that job code. Maraming states din ang pwedeng mag-sponsor sa programmers.

Hello! Medyo naguguluhan ako kung Analyst/Programmer or Software Engineer ang i-a-apply ko. I am a SAP ABAP Consultant. Nung nabasa ko yung description per code, SAP is mentioned sa Software Engineer. Medyo pareho ang description nung 2. Anyone here na SAP ABAP din. Please share po kung ano yung code na in-apply nyo.

Reply to @elle: SAP ABAP and BI/BW po ako and Analyst Programmer yung nominated occupation ko. depende na lang po siguro sa detailed job description nyo kung alin sa dalawa ang pipiliin nyo.

Agree with hotshot. Depende yan sa detailed job description kung anong mas applicable sa case mo. :-) SAP PI developer/architect ako, Software Engineer ang ninominate ko. :-)

Thanks for the reply sir, my managerial experience is around 3 years(out my 15 years total experience in the field) Just in case piliin ko to at hindi ako nag-qualify me possibility ba na i-downgrade ako ng ACS to the 3 job codes that i posted or magre-recommend sila kung san close match yung skills set ko?

Good morning guys. just want to ask sa mga nag submit and na asses na if yung birth cert kailangan pang certified as true copy or pwede submit na lang as is basta colored ang pagka scan?

hello! Naku wala pa rin. hekhek Kung sino mauna man sa atin, refer refer na lang. ahihii Nagssubmit submit na ako sa seek pero bara bara lang, di ko pa inayos format ng CV ko and wala akong cover letter. Di pa ako actively seeking kase aayusin ko muna ang commitments ko sa current company. heheh

Next year pa kase namin plan umalis

Reply to @downzhift: They used to advice people before, but I don't know if they still do that. The only way to find out is submit an application, and talk to the case officer who will handle your file.

Reply to @hotshot: Analyst/Programmer din talaga ang ilalagay ko since pag Consultant usually may client facing at sa code na yun swak talaga ang JD ko now. ABAPer ka din pala. Pag natanggap ka na paki-refer mo na din ako! Hahahaha!

Just called the HR department of my previous employer. I asked kung pwede nila ako bigyan ng COE with detailed duties and responsibilities. Nag-yes naman! I just have to include it sa request ko thru email. Sana lang ok yung format.

Will this be enough? Or talagang kailangan ko kumuha ng reference from my former supervisor?

Reply to @elle: kung mapoprovide ng HR niyo lahat ng details na kelangan ng ACS and/or DIAC...oks na po yan. but i'm just wondering kung alam ba ng HR nyo lahat ng ginagawa mo sa work? mas maganda cguro ilagay mo na din sa request mo sa kanila ang mga specific job details mo na magiging sakto dun sa description ng nominated occupation mo.

Pero ilalagay ko na din sa request ko yung gusto ko sana na content na based sa Analyst/Programmer description ng ACS. 2 previous employers ko na ang nag-ok. Was able to talk to another one earlier. Yung sa husband ko na lang ang iko-contact namin kasi most of his detailed COEs na-issue pa nung 2007.

when i checked the knowledge and tech requirements ng nominated SOL ni hubby it turned out hindi ganun ka-applicable siya as Computer Network and Systems Engineer more sa Network Admin. We'd take the path of visa subclass 190. Hope things will turn out well.
