Hi guys, gusto ko lang sana humingi ng comments, suggestions nyo for this specific question. nakita ko tong site na to nung nag backread ako. Currently I'm practicing my essay writing skills. here's the question:

Nowadays, the mass media including TV, radio and newspaper have become the essential part of our lives. What is your opinion?

My answer:

I agree that mass media is an integral part of our lives. All people from different generations rely on mass media for news, information, entertainment, etc. because it can be readily available through different avenues like television, radio, and newspaper.

From my perspective, mass media is a very essential aspect of our everyday lives. Nowadays, we have been overly reliant on the information we get from news shows, talk shows, documentaries, and other programs which enhances our knowledge. We depend on TV shows, sitcoms, dramas, sports, etc. to satisfy our craving for entertainment. I believe that watching shows for entertainment is a way to escape the monotonous routines we have to face daily. Mass media has such a huge impact to our daily lives because I don’t think anyone can survive a day without watching a TV show, listening to a radio station, or reading any news or article. This is what we have become now and I don’t see things changing in the next couple of decades.

Mass media, being an important part of our daily routine, should be monitored to a certain extent. Responsible journalism should be enforced so viewers will not be misled to false information. Producers and directors of TV shows should be responsible enough to create quality shows which don’t promote immoral and indecent actions. Parents should also be vigilant and proactive on finding out what shows their children are watching. In conclusion, everyone should be responsible on how information is disseminated because it may cause more harm than good if not regulated properly. We should not underestimate the power of information, and the power of mass media.

@Levannie thanks sa inputs.. oo tinatry ko mag compose ng 200 - 300 words in 10-15 minutes para sanay na sanay na pagdating ng exam..

@Levannie i took din the exam yesterday (March1 @ 9am) wala pang results as of 3:45PM today. Actually 2nd take ko na ng PTE. First take ko was last wee with scores L90/ W90/ R85/ S73. Kinulang sa speaking. Sobrang nadistract ako sa katabi ko e ang ingay ingay lakas ng boses

Ung 2nd take naman walang ink ung pen na binigay sakin at hndi nkatingin si Ateng proctor sakin inaayos nya ung buhok nya so hndi ako agad nbigyan ng pen. Hndi ko nman pwede istop ung lecture sa re-tell lecture. So bahala na si Lord.

TIp ko ay pag aralan kung pano ung scoring ng computer/systems ng Pearson sa PTE.hihi Computer lang yan mas matalino tayo jan.

@jella hi jella, ano ginawa mo sa repeat sentence? nag notes ka ba ng first letter word? or memorize lang?

@mokong ung technique ko. hndi ako nagnotes masyado time consuming. I listen to the recording while imagining ung sinasabi nya. tapos I repeat in my mind ung predicate part ng sentence kasi since short term memory ung gagamitin jan, most probably mkakalimutan na ung last part ng sentence once na tnry nang irepeat ung sentence. What I do, I listen to the recording tapos after nung recording, ung last part ng sentence ay irerecall ko sa utak lng (mga 2secs lng yun) then isstate ko na ung whole sentence. usually nman kasi ung first few words ay hndi nkakalimutan. Example:

S: "The lecture on child psychology has been postponed until Friday."

So while nagsasalita ung recording iniimagine ko na may lecture

After nung recording, uulitin ko sa utak ko: "has been postponed until Friday."

Then sasabihin ko na ung whole sentence.

The lecture on child psychology has been postponed until Friday.

Nagwork nman for me.

@kymme last day tips, i think since sa writing at listening lang ako credible magbigay ng tips: Writing: sobrang dami kong sinusulat nka 300 words ako sa essay. 60+ words sa summarize stuff. Listening: iniimagine ko ung sinasabi nung speaker.

Yehey thanks nakuha ko din ang 65 pts!!! LRSW - 69.65.86.65 . Grabe un sa speaking ko may namiss ako sa repeat sentence dun na ndi talaga ako nagsalita kasi nagnext ako agad dahil sa sobrang slang pero mataas pa din nakuha wohoo. Nasa lakas pala talaga ng boses yon haha.

tanong ko lang po, bakit kaya sa read aloud pag ginagamit ko phone ko yung voice to text ma cacapture ng tama sinasabe ko. Then pag sa pc naman gamit ko naka headset pa ako hindi na cacapture lahat, mali mali pa, lol

ang galing mo naman sis! pano ginawa mo sa reading? diba may partial scores dun at may negative marking?

@Levannie waaaah bakit may scores kana ako wala pa huhu. March1 din ako e 9am. San na kaya ung scores ko..

@mokong hndi ako pumipikit. hndi ako kumukurap haha. parang pagsasayaw yan e, pag pumikit maa out of balance haha

@pinoycoder 65-70 words ako sa summarize in one sentence. nhhrapan ako pagkasyahin ung summary sa mas maiksing sentence.effort e kaya npapahaba..

@kendz_shelou ung sa reading hnhnap ko tlg sa article ung sagot. most often than not nandun lng ung sagot nakaparaphrase lng. and yep, dun sa choose more than one answer, right minus wrong kaya be careful.

@mokong i think as long as ok ung sa test recording mo sa computer sa pearson magiging ok nman.

Ung sa writing write as many sentences as you can tapos reading ay understand the story as a whole.
