How to Apply Online for an Australian Tourist Visa - Step By Step Guide

AdminAdmin SingaporePosts: 1,770Administrator
edited February 2016 in Visitor - Tourist Visa
As a Filipino, applying for a tourist visa is a dreadful process. We need to go through tedious paperwork. In many instances, we have to experience emotional trauma from immigration officers who would ruthlessly interrogate our motive and financial capacity to travel in their country. Fortunately, some countries such as Australia have embarked on reforms and streamlined its application process. We greatly benefit from this improvement. Filipinos now have two options in lodging application for Australian tourist visa: a.) via third-party service provider – VFS Global or b.) online.

Philippines is among the select countries whose citizens can apply for an Australian tourist visa directly online. I took advantage of this service last November 2015 and was successful in my application. It is convenient and savvy. If I used the services of VFS Global, I will have to pay for the processing fee, courier fee, taxi, as well as endure heavy traffic. Remember, Australia is a visa free label country. You do not need to submit your passport to the embassy to have it stamped. Australian visas are issued and recorded electronically. The following are the steps you need to do and take into consideration when applying online:

1. Create an ImmiAccount => detailed steps here
2. Answer all the questions => detailed steps here
3. Upload Documents => detailed steps here
4. Pay the Application Fee and Submit => detailed steps here
5. Wait for Visa Approval => detailed steps here

Hi All, effective this year only, Some applicants lodging their visas online may be sent a letter informing them that they need to attend the Australian Visa Application Centre (AVAC) in person to provide their biometrics. Usually it applies for first timers.

I lodged my application a week ago and now waiting for the result. I process through a 3rd party and yes it cost a lot! Next time I will try to apply online. But for now, will wait if I will be granted.
Thanks for sharing the info...really helpful.

    Here’s the checklist http://singapore.embassy.gov.au/files/sing/DIAC CHECKLIST Visitor(Tourist%20Stream).pdf
As for the form, you don’t need to complete the form 1419, just create an IMMIaccount, submit your application online, and attach the documents.

as long sa u have sufficient funds in your evidence of financial capability - bank statement, evidence of personal assets. however it would help if you are applying from PH, some case officer consider it as reasons na babalik ka pa tlaga sa Ph

God bless

@hopefully depende siguro sa situation and case officer. I was interviewed before nung nagapply ako ng tourist visa.

Thank you Sir @muffles127. Hope iconsider nila

But that's your call. Yun lang ang stand ko diyan.
To give you a background, noong nagapply ako ng tourist visa first time ko din nagapply papuntang australia and unemployed ako nun pero kinonsider yata nung case officer yung other travels ko nun kase habang nasa phone interview ako nun tinanong niya kung meron akong travel abroad. So yun.

edit: ngayon ko lang napansin na sinabi mo pala na wala kang travel abroad. meron ka naman yatang approved leaves if you're working or enrolment sa school so i guess that would suffice.

Thank you for your generosity in sharing your thoughts and experience @muffles127 .

Online po kayo nag-apply or manual?
