Hi @stonehenge! Thank you for your kind wishes! Ive worked in SGV and meralco while im in PH then went to Dubai to work for 4 years before coming to AU. Yes I have tried applying while im in Dubai. Sa experience ko, most of the recruiters prefer na andito na sa Australia. If you have already tried applying while outside AU, you might get an email saying that the position is only open to applicants who are presently residing in AU and asking you to inform them once your residential circumstances changed.

About sa mga list of recruiters, cannot say which ones are trusted for me kasi as of now they haven't help me yet. Pero yung mga top recruiters are Michael Page, Robert Walters, Lloyd Morgan, Hays. I have tried to register to any recruitment agencies na may job ad sa SEEK. Yung iba pag tumawag ka to ask that you want to be registered with them, they will just ask you to send your resume thru their website, yung iba they will invite you for an interview to have an initial assessment of your qualifications. Which is useful for me to increase my network here and to practice na din answering interview questions.

Thru online lang ko kumuha ng MYOB course. Usually kasi, SMEs here uses MYOB as accounting system and most of the jobs in the market today are from SMEs. Pero mas ok pa din if you are familiar with large ERP systems like Oracle, SAP, JD Edwards coz it means you might get hired by blue chip companies.

If you want to apply while outside AU, try to apply directly sa mga companies than thru recruitment agencies. Mas patient sila to wait for you to arrive kung mahire ka while outside AU.

But hey, this is my luck so far. And it might be different from your's or someone else's. =)

Dun sa MYOB course, may BAS preparation na module, so kung familiar ka na sa pag prepare ng income tax returns sa pinas, you will find it the same (basic concepts are the same naman) PAYG is same with Withholding taxes naman. If you prepare both of them previously, you can mention it in your resume and cover letter. =)

Hello po, I work as a Finance Manager for 3 years now but Management Accounting ang course na tinapos ko, pwede ba akong magpa-assess nyan sa CPA Australia or saan kaya pwedeng magpa-assess kung sakaling hindi pupwede sa CPA Australia? I also worked as Sales & Marketing Manager for 5 years before landing on my current job.

@sticky_note hi! You can check sa job ad kun ano ang requirements nila and sabi ng isang recruitment manager sa isang seminar na npuntahan ko, employers now are looking for an applicant that will match ALL of those requirements kasi nga mas competitive ang job market ngayon than before. at importante ang local exp, coz employers prefer it. so pagdating mo dito, the 1st challenge is how to get a local exp. pro may mga company na they will still consider you for the job as long as you have the relevant experience. Kaso bhira yun at consider for an interview pa lang yun. So depende pa din sa kasabayan mo sa interview na may local exp.

@sticky_note Its just a personal opinion. Kasi im an OFW. In all country, Tax and laws are iba. I was thinking it might assist me to land a job sooner kz nga time ng initial entry ko rto, e maraming nagsabi na freeze hiring. tooks me almost 3 months to land a job. sa website, iba2x price ng uni, mga 2k+ per subject po.

The wife's migration assessment from CPA Australia has just been finalized (although the outcome was not specified in her account online).

I tried some minutes back to call their number and check for the results however the person said that they cannot divulge the information over the phone. We need to wait for a few more days I guess when we receive their mail.

More or less, I have already planned out a plan B in case this will not be successful...

    Cheers! :)
