1 year BS NURSING course at Deakin University

Hi Guys! Im new here and looking for forums about Deakin University and DUELI.. Im about to lodge for Feb 2017 intake but Im still waiting for Deakin's response about the DUELI.. I have OBS 7 but I have 6 and 6.5 band scores in IELTS and I dont want to take another IELTS coz I wanted to go to OZ din earlier.

Do you have any idea how many weeks will it take with these IELTS scores in DUELI? And does the Deakin offer mid year DUELI?

Hello po... ask ko po sana kung anu po ang mas ok na bs nursing course yung 1 year or 2 years po ba? Saka po for example na kumuha po ako ng english classes sa australia dahil hindi all 7 ang ielts score ko ay need pa po bang mag ielts ulit pag mag aapply na sa aphra as a nurse? TIA

hi same queries here @Ar_En, sana may mag reply. I saw that there are varying course length for bridging course from 3 months to 2 years. Paano may avail ng 3 months? Para mas less expensive sana. Does it matter ba ang length ng bridging
course? Thank you

@issad try to seek advice from an education counsellor like IDP, fortrust, AMS. They're free. If you finished a Bachelors degree in Nursing in the Philippines and obtained your RN reg, then you can apply for an advanced standing which will shorten your length of studies here. It depends between schools though. Yung iba kaya mg offer ng 1 year. Ung iba 2 years

@Ar_En i think yes. need pa din kumuha ng all 7 sa ielts. kahit ung mga kakilala ko na PR na, need p din nila ng ielts for registration. Exempted ka lang if you're going to do 5 years straight Australian education.

some schools accept 6.5 naman. like ung school ko. ok lang may 6.5 ako. tsaka nko ng oet pra dun sa AHPRA registration

@jay_el hi. pra dun sa 3 months sa bridging program pra ma register as AHPRA RN, you need to submit documents and requirements to AHPRA and they will assess kung eligible ka for the bridging program. Otherwise, meron din 1 year or 2 years conversion course

Good day po. I would like to ask kung pede po ba makapag enrol sa Deakin University kahit RN lang wothout experience? This applies to my youngest sister na nasa IT field at sa akin na rin na nakalodge na s EOI but with different occupation. We are just taking our options lalo nbra ung sister ko. Pano kung makakuha sya ng IELST score na hindi 7 in all areas? pwede pa rin po b sya? Lastly may alam po ba kau na parteng Western AU na university for bridging course na 1 year? @Jekfire Hi, yes pwede siyang magenrol without RN experience. Hindi rin kailangan na 7 siya sa IELTS for the 1yr conversion course.

Salamat din po @kymme sa response. I'm planning for WA kc kaya gusto ko sana for my sister na mag any WA Uni. I pray magkaron ako ng invitation. Sa sinasabi ni Cassey sa Deakin Uni regarding sa ielts ganun din ba sa Edith Cowan Uni? Kc naisip ko din po na alternative yan dhil nurse din po ako although as Firefighter ung pathway ko to AU. @Jekfire Sorry, my bad.. What i meant to say was even if she cant meet the English reqt she can still enrol for the conversion course. She'll automatically be eligible for DUELI (English course) in Deakin.

@Jekfire DUELI is an English Course, it's a classroom-based training not a test. It runs for 2mos if i remembered it right. Pag nafail, then ulit uli. Before conversion, DUELI muna.

@Jekfire iba ang deakin and ecu. from my knowledge, deakin needs all 7 sa ielts. if not, you have to take the english course for a couple of weeks. sa ecu, 6.5 accepted nila. need mo lng
mg all 7 kung malapit kna mg register sa ahpra. but double check wih ecu ksi that was last year pa. july 2015 intake ksi ako

Super salamat @Cassey and @kymme sa tulong. Meron po ba kau idea sa Tasmania na nag conversion din? Same issue with nursing experience and ielts grade na requirement. Kung cno po my idea sobrang maapprciate po nmin. Godbless!
