@bailey hi, the assessment of the school goes hand in hand with the work experience required to reach the skill met date to get an overall positive/suitable result. Sa case mo na associate degree you need 5 years work experience to get a suitable result. Kumbaga at this point acknowledged nila na for AQF associate degree ung course mo, which is this part "Your Diploma in Computer Science from University of the Philippines - Open University completed July 2016 has been assessed as comparable to an AQF Associate Degree with a major in computing"
it's just that kinapos sa work experience to satisfy the 5 year skill requirement for an associate degree as stated in this part "You have been assessed as not meeting the requirements for professional information technology experience of five (5) years in a field closely related to your nominated skilled occupation."

hi guys, sorry to disturb ulet. ask ko lang if meron ba dito may masters or post graduate diploma? okay lang po ba patingin ako pano yung results ng sainyo? nagcheck ako from other sites & forums and I found na sakanila dalawa yung qualification results. for example:

1. Your Bachelor in Science in ____ has been assessed as _____ .
2. Your Graduate Diploma in ______ has been assessed as ______.
3. Your Masteral Degree in _____ has been assessed as _____.

In my case, wala pong results yung bachelors ko. Possible po kaya na hindi nila na-assess yung bachelors ko kaya they assumed na non grad diploma (2yr course) lang yung graduate diploma ko? Thank you!

@bailey one more thing, I can see na kakatapos lang this July 2016 ang ICT course mo, can you post the skill met date stated in the letter? The line that says something like "The following employment after January 20XX is considered to equate to work at an appropriately skilled level and relevant to 261313 (Software Engineer) of the ANZSCO Code." Coz from this date tayo magstart magbilang ng work experience mo.

@bailey question lang po regarding dun sa bachelor's degree mo from UST. nag RPL ka po ba dito since non IT related sya? ksi alam ko since non IT course sya you need to do RPL or pa assess mo sa Vetassess.

baka kaya hindi nila na assess yng sa Bachelor's mo kasi Non IT course sya.

@tiggeroo @Hunter_08 hi! as per guidelines kasi if claiming for a qualification higher than bachelors degree (post graduate & masters), just need to include the documents for the underpinning qualifications. No need na for RPL kasi supposed to be counted yung ICT post grad under ICT Major kahit na non-ICT yung bachelors. Ang worry ko po baka ngkaron ng confusion on what kind of diploma I was claiming for. Baka instead po na "Post Graduate Diploma", they we're thinking its a diploma lower than Bachelors?

@tiggeroo hi again! wala ako nung portion na yun kasi di rin ako mgcclaim for work experience since puro before the skilled date. di ko nalang ininclude yung current employment ko wala rin kasi ako mcclaim na points. thank you

@bailey meron kasi akong kaibigan na nagpa assess din na may masteral sya pero yung sa kanya is na assess yng both yung bachelor's degree nya assess as diploma pero yng masteral as comparable as degree.

maybe just email the CO then ask for clarification just to be sure na tama yung na received mong assessment result.

@Hunter_08 both qualification po yung sa friend nyo? need ko nga ata talaga clarify that part. kasi wala ako qualification results for bachelors. thank you ulet! sana maging successful appeal ko para refund nalang appeal fee.. sakit din kasi sa bulsa nung appeal fee 395aud pala yon huhu

@bailey yup both qualifications niya meron pero kasi yng dalawa niyang qualifications is related sa IT.. I'm not sure lang din pag hindi related yng isa...

baka meron dito maka pag explain sakin about sa image below.

kasi 6 years ang binawas sakin and 8 years pa lang ang work experience ko out of 10 years.

ang theory ko kasi kung bakit 6 years ang nabawas is because 8 years lang ang total experience ko, Kung 10 years ang experience ko, 5 years lang ang mababawas sakin? correct me guys. Thanks

@wingleaf na assess ba yung degree mo as diploma? what was your major? If na assess as not closely related yung NOC mo vs degree that will explain yung 6years na bawas.

as per acs:

If your Diploma or Vendor Certification is assessed as having an ICT major which is NOT closely related to your nominated occupation, you will require 6 years relevant work experience completed anytime in your past work history to meet the suitability criteria

@bailey here's my theory, ACS did not assess your Bachelor degree since hindi sia IT related. If you go through RPL naman they will require you six years. So they assessed your post grad as AQF Associate Degree. As per their guidelines:

If your Diploma or Vendor Certification is assessed as having an ICT major which is closely
related to your nominated occupation, you will require 5 years relevant work experience
completed within the past 10 years or 6 years relevant work experience completed anytime in your past work history (whichever provides the earliest skill date) to meet the suitability criteria.

The best you can do here is just to wait until you reach your 5th year. Yung underpinning qualifications such as a Bachelor or other qualifications siguro may be applied if your Bachelor's degree is also IT related.

@wingleaf yes if they tagged you as NOT CLOSELY RELATED, it follows when your degree is AQF Associate Degree

Diploma and Vendor Certification
 If your Diploma or Vendor Certification is assessed as having an ICT major which is closely

completed within the past 10 years or 6 years relevant work experience completed anytime in
your past work history (whichever provides the earliest skill date) to meet the suitability criteria.

related to your nominated occupation, you will require 6 years relevant work experience
completed anytime in your past work history to meet the suitability criteria.

Mejo magkalayo po kasi yata sa comsci ang Computer Network and Systems Engineer.

Usually po sa mga nakita ko, computer engineering, ECE or IT major in networking po ang nakaka kuha ng AQF Bachelor Degree for that nominated position provided yung work experience should also compliment yung Comp net and sys eng. Mas malaki kakainin na experience pag malayo yung course sa nominated skill.

I could be wrong po. pero you can check here.

@guenb @Hunter_08 @tiggeroo hi guys, nagreply na yung ACS and you are all correct. Ganun nga daw kahit na dito satin Post Grad na yung credentials ko, if non-IT nga yung bachelors hindi parin macconsider na post grad, diploma ICT major lang daw pwede. Nakakalungkot lang kasi 2 levels down pero at least few months nalang hihintayin ko to reapply

gandang hapon po Mga bossing. I'm preparing po kc documents and ask ko Lang if my BS Com Eng will be be closely related sa Web Dev and will be considered as Bachelor degree and not diploma only?

Also, yung NSO docs, need pa ba notarized? Ano po ba Mga dapat i-notarize? Salamat po.

@einra2k2 yan din nasaisip ko pero may part naman na networking sa subject ko, ang di ko lang talaga alam kung bakit at ano ang reason nila between sa 5 and 6 years na deduction.

@bailey same tayo need ng 20 pts sa PTE..

@wingleaf ganun nga yung standard nila if AQF Diploma or Associate Degree yung assessment. Yung 5 years work experience magiging parang kapalit since hindi tayo na-assess as Bachelors. Bawi nalang tayo sa PTE
