Converting Singapore/Philippine Driver's License

Mga sir sa Sg. Ung pagconvert ba ng Phil to Sg license kelangan nung actual card? magpaparenew kasi ko this month and as we all know sobra tagal bago nila ma-issue ung license card. Ok lng kaya kung ung OR ang ipakita sa LTA?

Conversion procedure

In order to convert your foreign licence to a Singapore driving licence, you are required to pass the Basic Theory Test (BTT), overseas theory test results are not admissible for consideration.

You may book for a BTT in person at any of the 3 driving schools. On passing the BTT you may then proceed to apply for conversion at the Traffic Police Driving Test Centre counters in person, with the relevant documents. The 3 Traffic Police Driving Test Centres are co-located with the 3 driving schools. Their addresses are:

Woodlands Driving Test Centre, level 1, co-located with the Singapore Safety Driving Centre ( http://www.ssdcl.com.sg/ ) at 2, Woodlands Industrial Park E4 Singapore 757387.
Bukit Batok Driving Test Centre, level 2, co-located with the Bukit Batok Driving Centre (http://www.bbdc.sg ) at 815 Bukit Batok West Ave 5 Singapore 659085.

Kampong Ubi Test Centre, level 2, co-located with ComfortDelgro Driving Centre (http://www.cdc.com.sg) at 205, Ubi Ave 4 Singapore 408805.

Please bring along the following documents where applicable, when applying for conversion of licence:

* Original Copy of DFA-authenticated LTO Certificate (Red Ribbon)
*Original and a photocopy of your passport and NRIC/Entry Permit & Re-entry permit/Employment Pass/Dependant Pass/Work Permit/Student Pass/Long Term Pass
*Original and a photocopy of your valid Qualified Foreign Driving Licence
*Fee is of $50 (Cashcard or NETS payment Only)
*One matt finish passport-size colour photograph with white background, eyes looking straight and both ears and eyebrow visible in the photograph. There should be no headgear worn unless normally worn for religious purpose, and glasses worn should not be tinted. (there is a photo booth available in the centre)

For Singaporeans and PR studying overseas for one year or more, please produce proof of stay in the country, e.g. educational transcripts or Letter of Acceptance by the educational institution and the relevant student visa in the passport.

For Singaporeans and PR employed overseas for one year or more, please produce Income Tax Returns or supporting documents from employers and the relevant employment visa in the passport.

Applicant is required to watch the Road Safety video after getting the in-principle approval from Traffic Police test counters before the application can be processed.

hi, pano po pala kapag first time mgkaka drivers license. I mean im thinking of getting a drivers license dito sa SG and have it converted sa Sydney. Possible po ba yun kasi mostly andito sa thread meron ng PH license eh

@aisleandrow - possible. Kung makakakuha ka ng SG license much better. Take note however if the license is less than 3 yrs, it is equivalent to P1 here in NSW. And as per experience, mas mahirap pumasa sa SG compared here in NSW. Good Luck

@MisterKehn Hello po. what if 10 years na driver sa pinas tapos less than a year pa lang nag-convert sa Sg license. considered P1 pa din ba sya sa NSW?

@aisleandrow pag wala pang license sa pinas mas mahal talaga sa Sg. pero kung magpa-convert lng from Ph to Sg to Au mas mura compare sa magconvert from Ph to Au. yata

@Anino78 - from what I understand, nakabase yung P1/P2 or Full sa license na icoconvert mo. This means, if less than a year yung SG.. P1 pa rin. Kung yung pinas na license gamitin mo, it will be converted to full. However, mag take ka pa ng exam yung pinas license.

@aisleandrow - actually almost the same din ang cost. Mas madali lang dito sa NSW compared sa SG if from scratch na kukuha ng license.

@Anino78 - PH to SG - I think 6sgd magtake lang ng BTT.
SG to AU - Automatic conversion however dko sure yung fee
PH to AU - not sure about the fee, but need to take Practical Exam

@greatsoul Yung hubby ko ang gamit niya lang ngayon yung receipt at yung old na license niya since dpa siya umuuwi ng Phils to renew. Wala kaming LTO Certification.

not sure kung nakakuha ka na, pero meron mga nagprovide na ng services to get the LTO certificate and DFA authentication sa Pinas. google mo lang and i'm sure na makakuha ka. medyo pricey nga lang.

i availed last year ng service to get the LTO certificate dahil ayaw kong pumunta pa sa main office ng LTO. pero since natapat na may malapit na bakasyon ako nun sa pinas, ako na lang naglakad ng DFA authentication after i got the certificate mailed to our Manila home. may office naman ang DFA sa Megamall na madaling puntahan.

dun sa nakausap ko dati, pwede rin sila na maglakad nung DFA authentication kaso kakailanganin pa ng special power of attorney.

after these, madali na lang ung pagconvert to SG license kasi theory test na lang.

Hello po. ako po hindi na hinanapan ng LTO certificate nung nagpaconvert ako dito sa Sg. Sa Ubi CDC ako nagpaconvert. pinakita ko lng ung pinakaunang resibo ko (dated 1998) at ung recent valid Ph drivers license. Kelangan din pala ung luma nyong passport na may tatak ng ICA at isa sa mga requirements is dapat may drivers license na kayo before kayo nagpunta/ nagwork dito sa Sg. HTH

Mag te take ako ng BTT bukas and pag pumasa diretso na ako mag a apply ng SG license.
Ok lang ba na yung LTO certification ko from pinas e scanned copy the ni print ko lang?

Normally kasi hinihingi nila ung mga original for verification kaya baka hanapin sa yo ung original pero try mo na din muna yan gawa ka na lng reason bakit ndi mo dala original baka sakaling makalusot dun sa officer.
