Last pala guys, Don't take your interview for granted paghandaan nyo tlga kasi bihira lang tlga sila tumawag, pansin ko kasi kahit ano science degree hinihire kahit environmental, natural science and etc bsta science, di kasi regulated ang scientist dito unlike US at pinas kaya madami tayo ka kompentensya. Leave everything up to God, Nasa Dios ang awa nasa tao ang gawa. Good luck din sa mga nagtake exam.

@NicoDC Thanks for sharing! I think sobrang correct ka jan! When it comes to interview, need tlg super prepared ka or kung hindi nman ay may kakilala ka someone from inside..ung iba kasi hired na sila kasi they knew someone inside, ung interview formality nlng.. I think yan din ang isa sa mga reasons kung bakit hndi aq nahhire kahit man lang sa specimen reception area muna...when it comes to interview, madali ako mg black out,ung self-confidence ko ay hindi ganong kataas..ive been to few interviews already and ive already applied to dozens of jobs, still for 9 months that I am applying still no luck when it comes to laboratory assistant..next year pa kasi ako mgttake ng aims exam kya puro lab assistant muna inaapplayan ko..ive been here sa australia for almost 4 years and im on a different visa than most of you here..for almost 3 years ang work q ay hndi in-line sa course natin just to learn how to communicate with them, their culture and to save up narin..just this January lang ako ngkalakas ng loob mgwork sa healthcare, as phlebotomist muna..and almost 9 months nako sa work ko, I've learned a lot already and ilang buwan nrn ako ngttry mgapply as specimen reception for extra income and to gain experience nrn still no luck..Isa din sa mga reasons kung bakit hndi ako nahhire is my lack of local experience kahit man lang sa maliliit na laboratory dto..honestly, with my current work, kung hindi lang dahil sa hipag ko (a phlebo as well with same company), I think hindi ako mahhire kasi 1st lack of local experience as phlebo, 2nd temporary visa plng ako nung ininterview nila ako and 3rd ung mga sagot ko sa interview ay inferior compare sa iba lol!

Sorry sa haba ng post ko! Minsan nkkafrustrate pero lagi ko nlang iniisip na patience is a virtue lol! ;-)

    @chelle and @Luiza maraming salamat :)

I have no relatives and friends here na marecommend ako sa job.

Yung resume at cover letter napaka-importante.

Ngaun naman nasa Melbourne ako for interview. Lab technician naman dito for a research institute.

To sum it up...mahirap din po sya madami out of this world at unexpected n mga tanung. Sana by God's grace makapasa Po.
Attention @NicoDC, planning to take the pte po sana pampataas ng score.

Thats so true! Experience lang din tlg ang labanan dto and if u know someone from inside..this is a true story from a close friend of mine..he doesnt have any clue about medical terminologies and he thought na hindi sya ma-hihire kasi he doesnt even know kung tama ba ung mga isinagot nya sa interview but still na-hire sya and eventually na-permanent sya after 3 months coz of that one senior employee sa central specimen reception area pa huh sa isa sa pinakamalaking hospital dto sa Sydney which is super duper busy everyday...when it comes to public hospitals, competitive ng mga applicant..and this is another true story from one of my friends and from my own experience as well, ung ibang manager kasi may kanya kanya silang preference na lahi, samin much prefer ng manager namin ang mga Indians kya 60% samin ay indians and 40% mix of chinese, aussie, filipinos etc..then I know an area manager na Pinoy sya of course much prefer nya ang mga pinoys..mga ganong eklavu..minsan swertihan lang din tlg na samahan ng pagkabibo and gilas..basta never loose hope :D

I've been to a lot of interviews narin, akala ko pasado pero hindi pla...not to discourage anybody here pero majority satin dadaan tlg sa sandamakmak na interview bago natin makuha ung gusto at kelangan tlg natin na work..sa una nkkfrustrate pero at the end of the day ssbhin mo sa sarili mo na at least ngtry ka and ipunin nyo lahat ng natutunan nyo sa interview pra sa next interview nyo alam nyo na what to expect. ;-)

Eto din napansin ko dto..karamihan ng ngwwork sa lab wlang formal education dto like us mga MT sa pinas at certificate ang meron sila, pero pag madami na silang experience much higher ung chance nila na ma-hire kesa sa mga immigrants na katulad natin pero depende nrin tlg xgro sa state or location..someone even suggested to me to apply and start first sa mga specimen reception area ng mga maliliit na laboratory before applying sa mga big hospitals.

Suggestion ko lang din, if ur willing and gusto nyo lang..start from the bottom ng laboratory dito like phlebo, reception etc just to put ur foot in the door and work ur way up unti-unti.

Eto po ay story ko lang at based sa mga naexperience ko at mga naexperience ng mga kaibigan at kawork ko..but this doesnt mean na applicable din to sa inyo..this is just an idea of what to expect from this side of Sydney lol! Anyway basta never loose hope and try lang ng try, never give up! :)>- :-bd :x

Procedure.

Thanks @vangie :) kapit lang kau.. pasado yan.. while waiting for the results handa nio na ung ibang requirements. :)

Kaya guys mag-aral kayo for the interview. Hehehe.. Good luck sa ating lahat. :)

So yung nakuha kong interview isa sa hema at isa sa flow cytometry.

Tsaka hindi ako ngfocus sa isang state. Nag-apply ako sa lahat ng states. Kung sino unang tumawag doon ako. Nagkataon Brissy unang tumawag kaya dun ako napadpad. Hehehe..

Need to backread a little bit more. Kamusta buhay sa nsw at jobhunt as lab tech/ lab assistant or scientist? As some of u know. Data entry clerk muna ako d2 sa adelaide after I resign as lab assistant sa isang maliit na lab ksi part time lng ako dun. Dito sa Data entry sa isang lab ay full time so grab ko ksi wla pa regular work si hubby.

Next year makakalaya na kmi sa 2 yrs moral obligation at plan to move ng hubby ko sa nsw to look for his profession dun.

@bhelle_mt02 Hi bhelle! If mgbback read ka..ung mga post ko about me ay prang novela kya issummarize q nalang dto lol! As of now, since hndi pako ngkkpag AIMS, ang work ko muna ay phlebo for 9 months now as a casual sa NSW Health just to put my foot in the door kumbaga with the help of my backer-sis-in-law lol! Mejo competitive ang labanan dto even for phlebos like me..competitive in a sense na may kakompetensya tayo na ibang lahi but its all good as long as may work at may pambayad ng bills lol!

Oo nga..minsan kelangan din natin piliin ang work na permanent full-time..at least isa man lang sa mag-asawa ang permanent full-time..MLS din ba c hubby mo? What do u mean ng 2 years moral obligation? saan?

With regards to ur question..marami nman vacancy dto sa NSW..depende sa city or suburb ang pupuntahan mo kung gaano kadali or kahirap ang mghanap ng work..dto kasi sa location ko which is in Sydney (northern beaches and north shore) dami nman work dto kaso dami mo lang kakompitensya..mga ganong eklavu lol! ;)

@Aiza05 thank u sa inputs ha. Ang visa nmen is 190 state sponsorhip so may moral obligation kmi to stay here in south australia.

Si hubby ksi gs2 jan sa nsw dahil jan ung branch ng company nya sa sg which is global switch data centre. Dito until now, wla pa din sya work mahanap, may odd jobs pero on and off lng ang duty. So tlgng sinikap ko makakuha ng full time.

Ung work ko under ng Laboratory support services- Specimen reception at Data entry.

Mahirap isa lng my work pero thankful pa din ksi nkakaraos naman khit isa lng ang may work lalo pa may 4yo daughter kmi. So looking forward tlg kmi na matapos na ung 2yrs nmen d2 which is next year May 3 2017.

Hi everyone. Sorry na. Di ko tlaga alm ang sagot. At hanggang ngayon iniiisip ko sya. Hinulaan ko lang kasi. Ano po ba yung sagot dun sa question na "test/studies for introduction of new assay in the lab? 4 points kasi sya. Mukhang practical at dhil matagal nako di nagpractice sa lab. Hula lng tlaga sagot ko.

    Yung sagot ko kasi enumeration.
    1. Analytical characteristics of assay
    2. Diagnostic characteristic of assay
    3. Implementation
    4. Monitoring ang maintenance of validation criteria.

Pwede ba sya maconsider? Hayzzz. Kakastress. Nagbibilang ako ng sure na answer. Prang kukulangin ako sa chem.. :( :(

Assay Validation: Comprehensive experiments that evaluate and document the quantitative performance of an assay, including sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, precision, detection limit, range and limits of quantitation. Full Assay Validation will include inter-assay and inter-laboratory assessment of assay repeatability and robustness.

Based on experience, kse ng-assay validation din ako for Flow Cytometry, ang sinagot ko dito e precision studies, accuracy studies, correlation studies (inter and intra-laboratory assessment), and sensitivity & specificity.

Sa clinical research lab kse ako ngwork before kaya every now and then merong mga new tests or new flow cytometry panels na kelangan i-assay validation bago kami mag-run ng live samples.
