@raspberry0707 Ah I see..gets ko na! Ok na idea yan ah for someone na ngsstart plng mag-apply dto sa Australia na walang restrictions..they can use excel sheet as well like what you did...yeah, its very unfortunate and very sad that dto sa sydney cutthroat ang application ng field natin, madami kasi tayo kakompitensya from other countries narin..ive been convincing my husband to migrate to other state or city since dto sa lugar namin ay napaka mahal ng cost of living but then he wont let us to migrate since andto na buong family nya and all of his frends and he grew up here so I guess im just gonna suck it up and work harder to make ends meet...nga pla can u send me a format of ur resume and cover letter as well? Ive got one already and I just edited it like few days ago...I still even resorted to Airtasker app to avail a professional that can edit my resume and cover letter pra sure na sure na, Im just waiting for Airtasker's reply about my resume and cover letter.

*Disclaimer: Since I'm 50/50 realist and optimist, I just want this to be out there...
***Everything you read in here, especially in my posts..all of it are true and from my own experience & experiences of people who are close to me...these occurrences may not be applicable to you but for some it can be..it's really up to you on how you going to filter these infos...we're here to learn from each other and in no way my intent to discourage anyone of you here... I wish us best of luck in our every odyssey in reaching Australian dreams!***

@Aiza05 I agree with you. The market is tough at the moment. I see many kababayans in the specimen reception area. Also many local students and graduates in the specimen reception hoping to get a better position. Mas madali makapasok sa private lab no need to jump through hoops. I saw some kababayans with overseas qualifications hired as Tech Officers and Scientist in private labs but rarely hired as scientist in public labs (just recent observation). Mas madali talaga bsta private. Di lng tayo ang nag-aim para ma-scientist. Marami din locals with AIMS accredited degrees. So sad. :( I wish I migrated earlier. Like 2000-2005.

Disclaimer ko din: Just based on what I saw. Maybe others are more fortunate. Keep up the spirit guys!! Unfortunately my experience is not as nice as other people's experience. So I can't pretend na I'm optimistic.

@bear0000 Thank you! But I'm sorry to hear that things haven't been going great for you...how are you now? like san ka ngwwork at ano work mo ngayon?...I think lang huh, na mas priority ng mga company ngayon ang mga graduate nila dto at mga citizen nila dahil ang economy mejo ngsstruggle lately...sa private sector mas malaki pa tlg ang chances natin..kya suntok sa buwan nung matanggap ako as phlebo sa public hospital, grab ko agad kahit ang tagal bago ako mapermanent sa work just to put my foot in the door..tska iba iba kasi ng course pathway nila dto pra mkpag work sa pathology kya mas lalo naging competitive ang field natin dto...kya Im planning to do a further study pra maging solid ang credentials ko and hopefully maka-apply for a higher position..I think un lang kasi ang way for me except of course hardwork and perseverance ;-)

Me too.. I wished I've met my husband way earlier pra dto nako ngstudy etc...pero ok lang din kasi were still very lucky kasi andito na tayo...ganyan tlg ang buhay, my dear...tuloy lang ang move forward natin..bsta if the plan doesn't work, change the plan but never the goal..its ok to not be optimistic, but be realistic and magiging ok din ang lahat ;-)

@Aiza05 TO ako sa public lab somewhere in Australia. I've also worked in private before but super low ng sweldo sa private compared sa public and of course preferred nila migrants sa private kasi di masyado ma-reklamo esp. sa shifts and pay (in my observation). Business talaga ang private. I'm doing okay. It's just a bit disappointing na wala na talaga masyado opportunity for migrant scientists sa public labs d2 (from the perspective of an insider). Maybe others are lucky they got a scientist position in public labs a loooong time ago. Disclaimer: Just my own observation. Not applicable to all migrant technical assistants, technical officers & scientists. P.S. Good luck sa studies! My advice (if you want to take it) is it's better to study something else. The pathology industry is unfortunately struggling. Best of luck in everything. :)

@Aiza05 Sure you can PM me. :) For medicine you need a competitive GPA and you need to take an exam para entry for medicine and dentistry. I think better to do TAFE then kumbaga 'get your foot in the door' then upgrade qualifications. Getting a degree is not the only option. :) I am giving an advice that is applicable to the current situation in Australia in 2016 (meaning practical advice).

Marami kasi mga tao walang idea, nag-ma-masters thinking that Masters will mean something here. The universities are getting a lot of money from Masters degrees from international students (not applicable to you). So medyo wala ng effect ung 'Masters Degree' Even ung mga di masyado marunong mag-English nakakapasa ng Masters bcoz u know...Business is Business. Maybe if you already have 5-10 local years experience then doing masters will probably mean something if you want to become a manager or get a higher position. :)

I know a lot of people only want to hear positive things but some people are still processing their papers and will be investing a lot of money to come here. Only to end up as labour workers (cleaners etc.). They have to be prepared sa reality here. POSITIVE SIDE: The lifestyle here is good. If you work (any work if your pride can handle it), you can afford things. :)

@bear0000 Sure I will message u na ;-) I know right..prang sa pinas in order for a student to be accepted sa magandang med school, kelangan mataas ang score sa NMAT...buti nlang dto ko nakilala ang husband ko kasi I dont think I can afford being an international student here...tska ung medicine nacoconsider ko lang sya kasi for sure sa time ngayon not practical for me, need muna namin mgkababy din soon, my clock is ticking narin lol! Pero infairness huh..dami din student ng medicine dto na middle-aged narin, they are established na in life, maybe un tlg ang passion nila kya kahit matanda na sila, ngme medicine prin lol! Ng pa ER ako one time, someone approached me na middle aged woman..sa isip ko "wow! ang bilis ko nman maaccomodate!"..un pla ay medicine student dw sya..kya naisip ko may pag-asa but its gonna be a very long shot and its not gonna be easy...dami din tlg option, ung iba may "backer", ung iba tlgang sheer hardwork, determination and patience..ung iba sobrang kiss-ass mga ganong eklavu lol!.. kya pla may nabasa ako sa ibang forum na madali ng mag masters dto as long kumpleto ang requirements.

Super agree ako jan...hanggat maaari tanggap lng ako ng tanggap ng work before, kahit ano, nung ngstart ako dto sa Australia, basta iniisip ko nlang ang conversion ng dollars to peso, during that time ang taas pa ng palitan..naabutan ko pa ata un $1=P45 lol!..porke ngat iba ang visa ko but Im allowed to work naman kaso wala pko qualifications dto..I did few odd jobs before landing in a healthcare job...when I migrated here, ni singkong duling wala ako kya I have to work agad to help my husband with our bills..gustong gusto ko mag study before kasi I want to continue my further studies, ewan ko ba gusto ko nag-aaral..but need kumayod agad pra pampadala nrin sa pinas..at first struggle tlg, the language, culture etc pero now ok na ok na kami..kya dami ko tlg natutunan dto, patience is a virtue tlg and no sacrifice, no glory! ;-)

@ska1119 Sa assessment kse ng AIMS nakalagay lang e more that 3 years of work experience.. kahit almost 8 years yung work experience na pina-assess ko.. pero nakasulat sa assessment letter lahat nung work experience na inacknowledge nila.. all in all 7 years plus ung inapprove nila na work experience ko.. pero 3 years plus lang nksulat sa letter..

Alam ko may ngtanong na nito sa AIMS mismo.. sabi nga nila.. un lang nilalagay nila na generic na length of work experience.. 3 years plus of work experience.. for any duration na more than 3 years.

@raspberry0707 thanks for the infos! ;-)

For the future migrants going here or pra sa mga migrants na andto na, just a bit info and hopefully makatulong:

May nabasa ako sa ibang thread about "Skillmax"..course po iyan na pede itake ng mga professional migrants na plano na mg enter sa Australian workforce agad or pra po don sa mejo challenging sa kanila ang pag-enter sa workforce dto..."Skillmax" po ang tawag nito nyan sa NSW, hindi ko lang sure kung anong tawag sa ibang state...

Ni-research ko po itong Skillmax and I end up searching TAFE..I emailed TAFE (since ilan po ang TAFE kung nasan ako ngyn) regarding skillmax and told me na "Job-seeking for skilled migrants" ang tawag nila at equivalent to Skillmax...I went to a TAFE na malapit dto sakin to inquire and I'm going to attend classes starting tomorrow night classes since I have work during daytime, twice a week po ito..this is a free course..anjan napo lahat from identifying Australian workplace culture to preparing your job-seeking portfolio etc...kahit po ngwwork na kayo ok lang umattend sa class nato need lang po na PR visa kayo and current IELTS score 6.0 or above, have overseas qualifications and be looking forwork in your profession..Ive decided to take this course since free nman and I really need to improve my interview skills, resume and cover letter writing and my way of communicating with them...hindi kasi enough for me ang manood sa youtube or mgresearch on how-tos hopeless nako kya ngdecide ako mgtake ng course lol! Kayo po ang bhala kung gusto nyo mgtake or kung kelangan nyo..libre nman at kung may free time lang din kayo ;-)

@raspberry0707 maraming salamat s inputs ha. Un pala parang i-quantitate tlga ang work experience kapag my case officer na...akala ko nabalewala lng ung mga work experiences ko. Ung assessment ko is 2016 so far ganun p din if one has more than 3 years work experience, ang nka- state sa assessment was more than 3 years duration of work experience.

    @ska1119 think positive.. pasado yan..

@alfa for DIBP purposes mas mainam na sa mismong document nakatatak ung 'certified true copy'

    Eto ang guidelines ng DIBP:
    https://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Citi/Appl/What-documents-do-you-need

Click 'How to Certify Original Documents'

@alfa bring the originals kasi randomly i- verify nila authenticity ng docs na dala mo.
