Hi Sir @batman, kakasubmit palang nung Friday (October 28, 2016). Edit ko yung signature ko para makita exact dates, naka month pala ako. May sched ka na ng PTE?

@Diana__Jane a bago lang pala. 15 working days meron na yan. di pa ako nag book. hindi naman mahirap kumuha ng slot for exam. nag rereview review pa ako.

Hello! I am a BS in Accountancy graduate and a CPA. Gusto ko po sana magwork in Au. I've read the thread pero naguguluhan ako. I don't know where to start. Hehe kayo po ba how did you guys start? Should I seek an agent here in Ph? If so, how much po kaya? Maraming salamat!

you can strat reading in our newbie thread, may mga links doon. or you can read this thread too since accountant ka. most of the members here. they did it on their own. agent fees vary. may 200K may 300K.

@kendi you can find all the requiements at the au immigration website under skilled independent. You dont need an agent. just read carefully and follow the steps.

@jerm_au16 i think your psrtner needs to demonstrate that he has functional english. If you dont want to submit an ielts score a transcript showing that the medium he (assuming he was above 18 yo) was taught during bachelor or diploma was in english (at least two years)

@batman thanks for the info Sir. Can't wait to receive my assessment results, been praying for it na positive sana talaga siya para makapag EOI na din. Pag positive kasi baka di na ako mag PTE. Hopefully makapila sa November batch.

Hi kababayans,

I've recently attended a migration seminar for Australia and i want to try it out. I just have concern on some areas.

I'm not a CPA but have been a practising accountant here in Singapore for almost 7 years.
Q1: Do you have to be a CPA before you can apply for skilled migrant (189)?
Q2: Is it possible to have your skilled assessed by Australian assessment body before taking the ielts?

Hoping to hear your inputs to help me decide if i should pursue applying for migration in Australia.

Hi @oningkalbo ,

To answer your Qs:

1. You don't need to be a CPA to apply as a skilled migrant for Visa 189. In fact, you don't even have to be a graduate of BS Accountancy to apply too. You just need to prove and satisfy the assessing body (ex. CPAA) that you have taken all the Mandatory Competency Areas (in layman's term - Subjects) in College.

For CPAA, these are the subjects:

2. No. They are strict with that. They even have a minimum score for that matter. So, you need to pass your English exam before you apply.

For CPAA, these are the minimum scores for each English exam you may take:

I would suggest that you try PTE-A.

It's worth it.

Hi! I am interested in applying for a student visa po. However, hindi po ako makadecide kung sa university ba ako dapat mag-enroll or okay lang din kung sa college/ business school/ institute.

I already inquired sa IDP Philippines and ang suggestion po nila sakin is to take Masters in Professional Accounting since I already have a degree in business admin from San Beda College Manila and currently pursuing my 2nd degree in accountancy - pwede daw pong macredit ung subjects na na-take ko na so pinapatapos nalang po nila sakin yung sem na to then I am welcome to apply na.

They told me na kapag natapos ko daw kasi yung masteral, pwede na ako mag-apply for PR even without an employer to sponsor my application compared sa bachelor na mas complicated yung process and walang assurance. Kaso ang mahal po kasi ng tuition, though meron naman masteral sa mga institutes. So my questions are these po:

1. Maaafford ko po ba expenses ko if sa university ako pumasok especially the tuition fee? Given that I will be allowed to work for 20hrs per week lang? I have a relative there in Sydney so I will assume na malilibre po ako sa bahay and konting pagkain.

2. Malaki po ba difference sa mga future employers kung sa University or college/ institutions ka graduate? kahit same lang pong Masters degree yung natapos?

3. Meron na po ba dito na-grant ng PR thru the use of their masteral degree?

4. Namomonitor po ba nila mabuti yung 20hrs na work per week lang? or pwede naman po makapuslit ng konting time pa sa ibang part-time jobs?

I hope may pumansin po sa post and questions ko. Badly needed an advice po kasi since yung mga agencies na nakausap ko wala naman pong firsthand experience in Oz.

Hello Guys, tama ba interpretation ko sa accountant ceiling for 2016-2017 invitations

70 points virtually is the cut-off ? nabasa ko lang sa skill select and february 17, 2016 is the last round na kumuha sila ng 65 points and i don't know kung kumukuha pa sila ng 60 points.

Mejo high level ang ceilings sa accountants category.

189 lang in-apply-an ko. Nung una, sinama ko ang 190 pero nung nagbasa-basa ako sa november 2016 thread, ihiwalay na lang daw. So nag-update ako ng EOI at tinanggal ko yung 190.
