HELP - 5 Points Specialist Qualification

Good day sa inyong lahat.

nareceive na po namin invitation to lodge for 189 Visa. We are very concerned kasi may bagong addition sa point system which is the 5 point specialist qualification. Dun pa lang sa EOI we answered yes to this as we felt when we were reading the qualified courses. upon reading further, baka hindi magfall ang course ng wife ko dun sa mga approved...ang tanong ko lang po, is this gonna be an issue? 85 points po kami at this point..sabi namin sana di na lang nilagay yun kasi we read somewhere na dapat exact yung details ng eoi at saka ng actual lodging of visa.. @Swish41 maybe if you can elaborate further, like details on what occupation... and what about the 5-points specialist qualification... as far as I know over-claiming of points can be grounds for visa to not be granted.

@guenb okay po. sorry I wasn't clear. btw, wife ko po ang main applicant. We applied for the Agricultural Scientist occupation.

When we submitted the EOI, we ticked Yes sa 'post graduate specialist education' which is very new (only approved sept 10 this year). we thought the agricultural science could be classified under Science technology, information and math. but we realised just now that it might not be under the broad category Natural and physical sciences. so we are not qualified with the additional 5 points.

should we just submit another expression of interest?

@Swish41 where did your wife completed her Masters or PHD? Acutally ang taas na ng points nyo na kahit 60 points lang ay sure na maiinvite na kayo for visa 189. I would suggest that your wife make a new EOI for visa 189 for the next round in 2 weeks time and just ignore the current EOI with ITA.

Kung itutuloy po namin yung lodging ng current eoi, baka mareject for inconsistency.

or

Kung magaantay po kami ng new invitation, 60 days from yung last invitation ang aantayin... ang student visa namin ay mageexpire early feb.. dec 25 na pwede mag apply ng bagong eoi.. time constraint, tsaka in that period, baka mas maliit yung chance para ma invite ulit kasi hindi ata malaki demand sa course na inapplyan..

right now, we are leaning towards yung option to submit new eoi... sana lang po umabot pa.. we just cant believe na sa isang error lang marrefuse application po..

@Swish41 you can create a new EOI without the need to wait for the invited one to expire. just settle with enough points that you can easily support with proofs.

@Swish41 yes I agree you should just make a new EOI considering mataas pa din points nio. And while doing that review all other categories where you claimed points. Just so at this time eh you can support it. Good luck!

tatawag po kami sa immigration to see if there is an option to cancel the current invitation so we can edit the eoi pero we are aware that this may be too far-fetched. pero we are glad to know na meron pa option to submit another eoi... and for that we thank you. more power po sa inyo..

@Swish41 wag nyo na itawag sa DIBP yun. gawa na lang kayo bagong EOI. you can PM @sethkgx to ask what i had advised to him before.

Yes ok lang gumawa ng new EOI. Ganyan dn nangyare sakin sa 1st EOI ko... in my case, I underclaim sa work experience ko. Although marami sakin nag advise na pa2loy ung 1st EOI ko, takot pa rin ako baka mag karoon ng consequence. Rather than risk it gumawa ako ng 2nd EOI and make sure na tama na LAHAT. Double check , triple check everything.

nakatanggap po ba kayo agad ng invitation dun sa bagong eoi while active pa yung luma? straightforward naman po lahat sa amin, yung bagong +5 points lang po tlaga nagscrew up..
