Hi guys, finally I'm able to join this thread. Thanks @admin for fixing my account.
I just took my PTE exam here in Jeddah. Unfortunately, I didn't make it. Thanks sa forum nato at medyo nabawasan yung dissapointment ko. I can see na almost the same lang din pla mga exp natin. For me, I only had a day to prepare for the PTE since 1st time ko lang narinig ung pte when my agent advised me to take it to gain add'l points needed for my occu list. Bigla kc nagbago at nagtaas ng req from 65 lang naging 70pts na for Dec. So dali dali ako nagpasched dto sa Jeddah at kinuha ko agad yung earliest sched pra makahabol sa Dec. batch. Unfortunately, di ko nakapasa. Di pala ganun kadali, lalo na sa speaking. nyahaha...

Now, thanks to this forum, I can try to prepare for my 2nd take. Sa Pinas ko na kukunin during my Christmas vacation, mas mura. nagbayad din kc ko ng late scheduling fee eh. Sakit din sa bulsa...

@Ozlaz, "Industrial Engineer" yung apporved ng EA. Pero originally "Production or Plant Engineer" ang inaaplyan ko. Anyways, the same lang naman sila ng Unit Group. Ikaw bro?

Meron po akong tanong sa lahat esp to those who achieved their desired score of 79+ in speaking, has anyone did this strategy in speaking, particularly in describe image and retell lec : introduce the graph or topic, cite high and low, or 2 ideas, then conclude. Tpos pag d pa umaabot ng atleast 35 seconds - nagsasabi n kau ng off topic like - roses are red, violets are blue.. (what i mean is anything under the sun just to complete the time hehehe) if anyone did this and scored high in speaking pls speak out kc bka sa susunod ulit n take ko bka ganito gagawin k eh hndi pala cya advisable. TIA po sa makakasagot

@D.K.A.T its not advisable as per PTE scoring guidelines content is being evaluated as well, during my test I always run out of time.. my format was introduction, content and conclusion.

@D.K.A.T That's not advisable. If you find that you're finishing before the the allotted time, you might be speaking too fast or you need to practice elaborating more on your points which will contribute to oral fluency.

@freakazaa and @batman ok po salamat ng marami.. u r right freakazaa, i do speak fast.. so natatapos talaga agad ako sa describe image around 30secs or even before that.. i think that is caused by nerves kaya mabilis ako magsalita during pressured times haha.. salamat po sa advise.. will practice to relax and be calm then for that matter.

@D.K.A.T 30-35 secs. is fine, depende kasi sa content, for example meron sa describe image na medyo mahaba yung title/subject na babasahin mo, kakain ng 3-5 seconds compared sa iba na maiksi lang. technique ko is pagkatapos ng isang main points titingin ako sa oras and magaadjust ako na medyo babagalan ko or bibilisan kung marami pa akong sasabihin based sa format.
Yung bagal na ginagawa ko is emphasize ko lang yung sinasabi ko para kakain sya 3-5 seconds pagkatapos ng 2 sentences..

hi guys, i just joined this thread a few days ago. first of all, maraming salamat po sa lahat ng members for sharing their experiences in taking the PTE exam, nakaka-inspire at nakaka-motivate especially sa mga future test takers.

i took my PTE-A exam last Friday and sadly the results fell short against my target score of 79 overall to claim 20 points. i'm going through the test tips na nai-share ng mga members and planning to retake this coming january so hopefully po ma-meet na yung desired score. :-)

btw, tanong ko lang po sa mga nag-retake na ng exam kung exactly the same set of questions din po ba ang lalabas, for example, sa read aloud or essay, kung same sentences or topics din. my guess is ibang set of questions pero sana po ma-confirm ng mga nag-retake na.

Goodevening guys. Ask lang po ako about on the day sa exam. From Davao po kasi ako and Manila lang ang test center. Makati po yung nabook ko. 8am. Question: How long will the exam take po? Kasi yung flight ko pauwi will be 4pm on the same day. Kaya ba?

@jhunaan93 yup pede ka na lipad ulit, hindi ka nag book following day para nag enjoy ka muna ng isang gabi sa manila after the exam.

@jhunaan93 Yes (basing from own experience). After the exam, the admin will just tell you that the result will be emailed to you. I'm pretty sure others have the same experience. Right, anyone..?

Just took PTE this morning at Trident, super
late pa ko 9:20 na ko nagstart, but still I got 90 in reading, listening, speaking and writing.

Now its time to update my EOI and hopefully be invited this December 21.

Actually tip ko lang is dapat familiar ka sa types of questions, kasi once maging komportable ka sa format ng exam, yakang-yaka na e. Actually third take ko na rin ng english exam, first ko is IELTS 2 years ago, kinapos ako sa Speaking 7.0 lang, tapos this May TOEFL naman, kinapos ako ng 2 points sa Writing at 1 point sa Listening para sana Superior. Kaya eto ang proof na mas madali talga ang PTE kesa sa ibang English Proficiency Exams.

Tip ko sa speaking, be as natural as possible. It helped na na-late ako ng 20 mins (but I don't encourage you to be late) kasi ako na lang ang naiwan na nagsasalita so less distractions

. Wag na kayo mag-accent ang mahalaga isipin nyo si Siri (or Google Now) ang kausap nyo para maintindihan ung sinasabi nyo. Ung tricky sa speaking is ung describe the image or picture. My tip is start by stating what the picture/ graph/ table is about and then ung mga trends and mga axis.

Sa writing naman, use your own words lang talaga as possible. Ang technique ko kasi, tinatry ko siya iexplain sa Tagalog or iniisip ko may tinuturuan akong estudyante saka ko itratranslate sa English. It helps din na marami kang alam na words or mahilig ka mag-thesaurus nung bata ka

Sa Reading, eto ang favorite part ko kasi parang high school lang naman na exam tipong multiple choice tsaka fill in the blanks.

Sa Listening, halos parehas lang sila ng reading, makakatulong din kung mahilig ka manood ng TV Shows or Movies na may accent at napapanood mo ng walang subtitle (hehehe) like Game of Thrones or Vikings, kasi mas magiging alisto ang pandinig mop sa words na may accents.

Yun lang ang mga tips na pwede kong ma-ishare, hindi po ako nag review center or namili ng mga review materials. Dinownload ko lang ung mga free sample questions and tutorials sa website.

Ganyan din status nung akin ng 2 days tapos nagbago ng "taken - scores reportable".

Hintayin mo lang after 5 business days. Pag wala pa, e-mail ka sa pearson. Pag atat ka na, e-mail ka na din sa Pearson (pero malamang sasabihin lang non, maghintay ka pa hanggang 5 business days).

Dec 7 ako nag exam till now on hold pa din un akin, nag email na ko. Sabi 5 working days ang max so I have to wait till tonight bago ko mag follow up ulit.
