We are just heading forward..not backwards..regardless kung ilang beses na nagtake as long as you are moving forward, pwede magpahinga pero go ahead lang you can't stop kasi mabobother ka lang din na magtake ulit. I was once struggling to pass PTE. 65 lang rrequirement ko so akala ko madali lang kaya di ko sineryoso yung 1st take ko. so eto grade ko:
L/R/S/W = 56/69/48/67 (Sept 24 2016)
Speaking : Mic position - nasa mouth tapos nagblow ako kasi kala ko tapos na haha so narecord yun
Read aloud - wala ako intonation tapos akala ko kasi kapag dahan dahan magsalita tataas pronunciation. Hindi pala. repeat sent: napapause ako kasi d ako sanay. Describe image:
wala ako template nyan at i'm trying to describe everything which is my default way of thingking..so it ended up stutter kasi hindi makasabay bibig ko sa thoughts na gusto ko sabhn. retell- pinakanhrapan ako..di ko masabay yung cnsb sa sinusulat..
listening : I missed last two write dictation na mataas pala yung mark so mabaab grade ko.

So inassess ko pagkukulang ko. ngsearch ako sa net nakita ko to forum.
Then ganito ginawa ko: ngpahinga ako mga 3-4weeks kasi puno na booking.

Naka 2 ourchase ako ng mock test online para magauge ko yung grade ko then gamit ko yung earphone lang kasi wala ako headset.

Ganito inaral ko:

Read aloud: Normal tone of voice. No need to make it loud. promise!otherwise sisitahin ng centre. Basahin maige yung paragraph habang hnd pa recording then don't make false start dapat confident sa unang word palang. maintain your tone.
Then yung pagread medyo binilisan ko kasi mabagal ako magbasa noon. Pero yung definition ng binilisan naging equivalent as normal pacing. for example : "China, therefore, increased their stocks"(dalawang comma yan pero pagkabasa ko China (0.2 sec) therefore (0.2 sec) so mabilis lang hnd aabot ng (0.5 sec) pero kapag yung sample ng sentence ganito: "Crops include barley, rice, bread, (cgro mga 0.4 secs) mas obvious yung pause ng konti. Gets nyo? Tapos kapag 'period' ang indicator ko isa one inhale.

Repeat sentence: Practice talaga to kasi hirap na hirap ako dati. Nilagay ko yung lahat ng repeat senteces ni Kelly at Macmillan sa ipod ko tapos paulit ulit as ulit ulit tlaga (kapag nasa train ako, or naghhntay ng bus yun lang pineplay ko kahit memorise ko na yung sentences) Yung una, 1st phrase pakinggan ko tapos pause then recite 1st phrase then play ulit then 2nd phrase pause and recite then recite whole sentences. (gawin mo to one week effective)

Describe image: Make a template .
The (chart/graph) projected on the screen is entitled (--) between (years covered, if there's any)
Based on the presented data, it can be clearly seen that (--- has/have the highest/largest ..(title e.g car theft among others).
Figures for (e.g 1998 is approximately 98% of car theft) or (America has approximately 98% of car theft in 1998) whereas the lowest is/was (1992 at only 20% or Australia at only 20%)

Therefore, this graph is accurate and concise and can be used as reference for future studies ff the same objective.

Retell lecture :Well, dahil di ko masulat ang cnsabi at kahit gumawa ako ng bullet points, pagdating sa recording nawawala ako at di ako makconstruct so dahil naidentify ko weakness ko gumawa ako strategy:

Gumawa din ako template hehe: (kasi nga oral fluency at pronunciation ko nagfocus kesa sa content)

The speaker mainly talks about (title) and a significant amount of time was spent in discussing this topic.
According to the speaker, there are 3 main points in the lecture.
Firstly, he/she mentioned that (1st sentence)
Secondly, he/she sugegsted that (2nd sentence)
Lastly, he/she suggested that (third sentence)
In a nutshell, it is clear and interesting as a learning tpic

So 3 sentences lang sinulat ko tapos hindi na ako nakinig. inaayos ko nalng sa notepad ko yung sentence structure para babasahin ko nalang xa sa notes ko at hnd ako mastutter. (pero yung template memorise ko na para yung 3 sentences ko lang yung isulat ko kasi pag sinulat mo pati template mauubusan ka ng time)

Answer short : Gumawa ka ng sagot kahit di mo alam hehe tapos confident sagot. Hindi patanong yung answer. (e.g Thermometer??-- wag ganun!)

Writing : Hindi ako nagreview dito kasi tamad ako magsulat pero i didnt let my guard down so nagbbsa parin ako sample na writing and topics from dylan sa net. I believe madali lang yung writing:)

Reading : 2 exams ng reading ako per day for one week from macmillan or youtube or kelly or lofoya esp jumbled paragraphs.
Pagapsok ko sa office nagbbsa agad ko ng yahoo news or science daily for 30 mins.
Nagsusulat ako ng vocabularies sa notebook ko na maencounter ko per day e.g burgeon, colossal, nominal, swot, disparage etc) at collocations na naencounter ko (marami sa macmillan) pag nagsagot ka magallot ka one hour to check answers and study it.
Nasita pa nga ako dito kasi ang lakas ko daw magbasa so hinulaan ko last 2 ques kasi ubos an oras ko. Biansa ko yung may maganda pakinggan cgro skill na rin yun kasi nappractice lagi so alam mo yung joke time na choices or exag or parang mali.

Listening : Fill in d blanks sinusulat ko muna habang nagsslita xa tapos saka ko na transfer sa comp kapag natapos na recording. mabagal ksi ako magtype. Tapos papakinggan ko maige yung convo. lalo na sa multiple choice para maintndhan yung thought hindi porket nabanggit nya yung word sa convo at nakita mo sa choices ayun yung tamang sagot. yun pala trick lang yun.
medyo madali lang to kaya makinig lagi ng english we speak or english radio at wag manood ng movie ng may subtitle.:)

Yung mic ko pala nasa nose level! effective sakin ito. pero kung effective yung sa mouth sayo, that's not a problem.

Di naman sobrang off topic yung sinabi ko pero di kelangang may sense. Kunwari yung graph is about car sales tapos nasabi ko na yung highest and yung lowest tapos nagconclude na ako na "Based on this graph, we can assume that car sales will continue to increase in the next years." Kung may 10 seconds pa I could also add "The increase in car sales can also contribute to increase in pollution." Di kelangang logical basta kahit papano within topic and syempre dapat tama yung grammar.

got my result yesterday
LRSW - 56 77 74 57

sa listening alam ko talaga bagsak ako kasi i missed last 4 questions (dictation)..
sa writing ang hindi ko alam kung bakit..kasi sa mock test mataas score ko..
result proper naman is ang grammar ko is 90, written disclosure 80, vocabulary 85..
does it have something to do sa hindi ko nasagot na dictation sa listening? na parang related sila?

Question about sa Reading task, timed ba each section sa reading? or you get a whole 30-40mins to complete all sections in reading task?

will be retaking po and when i checked sa pte site, they have schedule for jan 2 which is a non-working holiday..meron po ba maka-confirm dito na they are really administering exams even on holidays? baka kasi i-cancel nila tapos hindi ko makuha kabuuan bayad ko..

@kokoc sorry mali ata tanong ko. pero gusto ko talaga malaman kung saan ba ang proper way para pag nag exam ako hindi marinig nung computer yung pag breath.

@pindiola pwede mo naman i-test yung mic and headset before mag start yung exam. Test mo lang ng i-test hanggang satisfied ka na claro yung recording mo.

@pindiola you can record your voice during mic testing time. When I took the exam pinahaba ko ang pag mic test kasi nagsusulat ako ng templates ko. haha!

@pindiola wala nmn difference kung sa butas or kahit saan part ng nose kasi small lang nmn surface area ng ilong. Malalamn mo yan habng nagtetest ka ng mic. So dun mo iposition yung mic mo.

Wow pwede pala yun gawin sa Pinas na testing centre. Dito sa Sydney hi di pwede bantay talaga lahat tapos sa taas ng ceiling may cctv camera.

@pindiola dont worry too much sa exact positioning ng mic malalaman mo kapag nagplay back ka ng testing bg voice before exam.

the only way I see it is that you probably exceeded words in write essay for example.

If you miss the last part of listening, I guess yun yung "Write from dictation"? Partly writing din kase sya. 1 point din sya for each correct word spelled correctly.
